Hotel Locanda di San Martino and the Sassi

"Unbelievable experience" The most unique place I ever stayed. I wish we had more time to stay there.

In the heart of the Sassi.

Hotel directions did not work as the City had closed some streets. We found a local to guide us to the hotel and then everything was easy. Staff were friendly and helpful, and gave us a good recommendation for dinner that matched our request for a venue serving the locals and having local specialities. Parking (virtually impossible for a visitor to the Sassi)was easily arranged by the hotel and our car was available within about 15 minutes upon departure. The location of the hotel provided a great base for exploring this fabulous site. The only downside to the room was very poor reading lights at bedside. And-note to the wise-you should be comfortable with stairs to be really happy here.
