Trip Type: Family Review 1 of 8Don't go by the picture!
We booked our stay based on previous reviews and the room we saw advertised online. We knew it was not "deluxe" but felt it would be fine for our needs. We were utterly dismayed when we saw our tiny cubicle with one small window. When we opened it for some air, someone in another room was smoking and blowing their smoke out the window and directly into our room. It was unbearable. The room was so small, we could hardly walk by the bed. Not at all as advertised.

Trip Type: Family Review 2 of 8Tiny room, HORRIBLE bed
The room we received was clean and looked like it was recently refurbished. The hotel has a nice breakfast and the location is pretty convenient. However, I will not go back to the Westbury hotel and I would not recommend it. I think we could have handled the fact that the room was unbelievably small if it weren't for the horrible bed which literaly had springs popping out of the mattress. It's really a disgrace to provide hotel guests with such a shoddy bed, even in a relatively cheap hotel. The upside was that we hated the room so much that we hardly spent any time in it and saw much more of London.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 3 of 8Dirty hotel - old beds - pubic hairs on sheets
Let's start with the pubic hairs on my sheets. YES, they did not change the sheets on my bed from the previous guest. The room was less than 7' X 10' wide, including the bathroom. If you are taller than 5'9, your feet will hit the wall and you will have to sleep at an angle. The "free internet" is only if you are in the hotel lobby, because they did not have a router that could broadcast further (I was on the 3rd floor). The beds were so old that the springs were coming through the mattress padding in places (my back litterally hurt the following day). The free continental breakfast was cereal and frozen orange juice. It said it lasted from something like 7:00 am to 10:00 am, but when I went down at 9:00, the only thing out was the cereal and I had to ask for something to drink and they brought me a pint of orange juice from frozen concentrate. Yes, to say the least I was very disappointed and stayed the two nights I paid for and then checked out the following day and went to a more expensive hotel. If you can afford better, spend the extra money and stay somewhere else. Oh, the bathroom was recently remodeled and seemed clean, but the shower drain was slow and you had to keep the water turned down or it would run out on the floor. I stayed in room 302.

Trip Type: Family Review 4 of 8Improved over before, but still less than desirable
We stayed in the Westbury at the beginning and end of our European trip. After our first experience, we were not looking forward to returning but already had the hotel booked for our last night. This one night stay was an improvement over before but still left much to be desired. We had a "remodeled" room and the bathroom tile was already significantly cracked. The window sill came off in my hand. We had to pay a deposit for the remote control, had to ask for soap, the hair dryer did not work, and the cleanliness of the bathroom was definitely questionable. The hallways were sloped and had an odd smell. One positive is that there is a decent elevator to reach upper floors. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Trip Type: Business Review 5 of 8Small Pill Box
If you only want a place to lay your head this place is good. The "Family Rooms" are not large enough for a family of 3, never mind more. There is no place to sit if you want to work, they even make you fell bad for going to the breakfast lounge to work, when there is not enough space in your room to work e.g. no desk, no chair, no power that works in room. We were kicked out of the empty diningroom not politely, and we were not even told why we had to leave. She would not even hear why we were there. The only nice person that we associated with is the female day clerk (Elisabeth).

It was literally a closet with a bed in it. Good location for the price and a lot of good places to eat close by...

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 7 of 8overbooked or bad planning
I booked a room at the Westbury Hotel in London, but upon arrival, was told that due to a problem, we had to go to "another hotel" and that a man would drive us there. This hotel, the Wedgewood, was pretty dumpy and not welcoming; we didn't feel comfortable there and had to seek lodging elsewhere. This was not a good experience at all.
