Charmless and shabby

The lobby of Barcelo Hotel Sants is slick and modern, promising updated rooms and stylish interiors, but the actual experience was far less glamorous. The cheap, veneered furniture was nicked and old looking, the bed linens equally tired. The bathroom had loose tiles and mold. The location, directly above a major train station, is convenient for those making connections but there is little of interest in the immediate neighborhood. Unless you are looking for a big, corporate hotel that offers amenities like a fitness center and restaurant with room service, you would do far better in one of the smaller hotels in a more interesting district.

needs alot of improvement

Hotel is very shabby. The lobby is the nicest thing. The beds are very low and hard. Would not recommend.

Needs improvement

Checked in early after noon for an overnight stay. Left baggage in a great looking and clean room, and went out to visit city. Came back at about 5pm to a 90 degree F. room. Unable to make any adjustments to temperature with a strange room thermostat. Hotel staff advised Main central unit was either hot or cold and was currently hot and unable to adjust. They offered a fan. Not good for a 4 star hotel.

Hotel restaurant

There were not enough restaurants located close to the hotel and the hotel resaurant never seemed to be opened. Spent a lot of time eating in the train station. Not what I invision for my trip to Spain.
