Barceló Hotel Sants

Great location

I didn't realize that the Hotel is above the train station. We were looking for a place close by, so we could take the train to the airport the next morning. This was perfect!! The room was very nice and spacious. I would stay here again.

good overall value for the money

1. Excellent location being above a major train/subway station. the front desk staff spoke good english & very helpful 2. AC was on all day but could not cool down the room. 3. There was no inroom water boiler for hot tea/coffee. there was only one ice machine on 2nd floor but no ice was available (broken)

Good location good price

We stayed at Barcelo Hotel Sants for 4 days in July. The hotel is located right on the top of a major train station and a city sightseeing bus station is located right in front of the hotel. Despite all these, the rooms are amazingly quite. The hotel location is ideal for tourists. It is far enough from the busy downtown area but easily accessible by metro. One can also use the train to come to the hotel from the airport. This, however, works only if you do not have big and heavy luggage because moving the luggage to the train station in the airport and from the train station to the hotel may not be very easy. Particularly since in the train station you do not find signs for the hotel. So, if you have big luggage, you are better off taking a cab which will cost you about 30 Euros. Furniture in the room is old and need updating. In our room, the hairdryer was broken and the bath drainage was very slow. The staff, however, is friendly. The hotel is more a 3 star than a 4 star hotel. Overall, given the price this is a good choice and we will recommend it.

It's location is very important. Is very close to all monuments. also is very comfortable.

Very Nice

The Staff was very helpful and worked through the language differences with houmor and a smile. A pleasant surprise as to the size of the room and the bed. Not normal for Europe as a whole. Large and plenty of space to feel comfortable.

Great room for the price....

But Hotels.com or Barcelo Sants should make it a point to let people booking to stay there know of the train station right below the hotel, a 7 Euro ticket purchase gives a total of 10 rides on the subway, one ticket may be used for two persons. We learned of this on the last night of our stay there. We would have really maximized on our trip if we'd known of this sooner. The hotel is not that centrally located, about three miles from some key central areas. The hotel is great for it's price. The other Hotels.com hotels we stayed in on this trip were marginal in terms of room comfort. We even had a view in this hotel! But I think it would have been extremely valuable for us to know that the train station had such a bargain deal for travelers. In fact the ticket may even be used for the airport line. Between my wife and I we used a 7 Euro ticket to take 10 rides and also to get us to the airport the next morning. I am not complaining, just saying that something that's such an obvious benefit to hotel guests should be touted by hotel staff, by hotels.com, etc.. We would have been a lot more educated if we'd known that up front.

Great convenience to metro

Hotel was very nice and large by European standards (medium by American). Full bathtub (also unusual for Europe). Hotel was right above the metro stop where most of the lines cross. This was very convenient for getting all over the city. It was a far walk to many of the tourist spots, but doable. Overall, great deal for the price.

Great room for money

Room had a great view towards La Sagrada Familia and Montjuic. Room complete with safe, tv with various channels, bathroom was great! water pressure in bath was so relaxing. Hotel is located on top of Sants station which was easy to locate when coming into the city and great access to move around in Barcelona. Close to cafeterias and souvenir shops within the station. Breakfast was extra but was worth it because it is buffet style (eggs, bacon, fruit, cheese, etc.) I will definitely stay here again if Im lucky to go to Barcelona again.

Central location but far from beach and Gothic area (about 20-30 min) by metro. Good access to airport and to sarria neighborhood.
