Great room for the money

During the extensive renovation there are 9 floors of the old Hilton look and the 10th floor of the "new" Hilton...we upgraded to the 10th floor and it was just fine. Make sure your driver knows that you are at the old Hilton Washington on Connecticut Ave. and not the nicer Hilton near DuPont Circle, which is where my shuttle driver dropped me off and there were some awkward moments (because of course they had no reservation there for me) and a cab ride to the right Hilton.

Pricey for what you get

Room smaller than other bargain chains. Hot water barely warm enough. Parking is pricey. Staff very courteous.

Excellent

Hotel was excellent in every respect. Surrounding neighborhood is very active and very safe. My only complaint was the price of parking. I would love to spend another vacation there.

Good location, Adequate rooms

Hotel is undergoing renovation. We stayed in an older room - very small and cramped. Very limited television channel selection. Looking forward to seeing the new remodeled rooms.

Great hotel with renovation pains

This is a beautiful hotel with a great restaurant. The rooms are great. The hallway is long and I was really far from the elevator. The hotel is undergoing renovation and for some reason that caused water on the bathroom floor at one point in my stay. The manager came quickly and promised an engineer would check it out. Housekeeping cleaned up the water but the engineers never showed. The problem did not re-occur. Some elevator doors stuck and had to be pried apart manually---a little scary. The coffeemaker did not work. The restaurant was wonderful---best bread I've had in a long time. I highly recommend the 100 mile menu...really fresh food taste and perfectly prepared. The hotel is considerably farther from Metro than I was led to believe on the Amata website and all uphill.

great value

Although the hotel is currently under a major renovation, it didnt inconvenience us at all. I would highly recommend a stay to anyone. Great value during the renovation.

Outstanding Hotel

This hotel is excellent and is walking distance from the trendy Dupont Circle and a nice leisure walk (if you like walking) to the White House. A wonderful tour bus company is located inside the lobby and picks up right outside of the hotel. The rooms were posh and clean -- service was great! I will definitely stay here again in the future and hopefully for the same low price.

Average Room a bit dated

Average hotel in a good location. Priced okay due to renovation but breakfast or anything beyond the room was priced quite high. Room was okay but a bit dated and "tired". I would stay there again.

Nice remodling

The hotel has done an excellent job remodling the rooms! While there is still construction, and the parking is horrendous due to that, the hotel was fantastic inside. The service was also very good! They always seemed to go above and beyond.

Wonderful place to stay in D.C

Really nice hotel, very sweet, nice and accomodative people there. Great beds, only thing that needs improving is bathroom and air vents need to be cleaned. But overall a perfect place to rest after long days walking around D.C. The Teen agers were happy with the hotel too. We got our money's worth and a then some!

OK hotel

Nothing fancy about the room. Lobby area nice. Beds were quite small. Not satisfactory service in reception. Breakfast buffet rather small compared to many other hotels, but what they had was good.
