Trip Type: Romance Review 1 of 8unexpected changes
I booked this hotel through Hotels.com, paid for it through them as well. When I arrived to the hotel all I wanted to do was check in and get up to the room. I was told that since was using my check card ( that has visa on it) that I would have to put another $50 a night on the card. The $50 was incase I ordered room service, valet parking, made phone calls or pretty much charged anything to my room. So in short I was now $200 less with my spending money and they tried to charge it to my account twice.
Hotel Response
We do apologize for the charge to your debit card. It should have been a hold on the card, not a full charge. We regret the error and hope it was resolved quickly.

If you are expecting decent size rooms or a microwave... not here. The rooms were very small, no microwave, tiny fridge, shower door only cover half the shower so the whole time your in the shower your trying to figure out how not to get water splashed all over the floor that you cant even just enjoy standing there after a long day. You do however get premium channels and the location is smack dab in the middle of the convention center and superdome. If staying awhile i would stay somewhere else. For one night, it would be okay.

Hotel was nice, but not as nice as I thought it would be. One shower-door, what is up with that ?? , which caused massive amounts of water everywhere while showering. Booked a "smoking" room and found out at check-in that the entire hotel is "non-smoking". Over-charged for parking. No refrigerator, except for the locked wet-bar, (good thing I brought a cooler), only wastebasket in room under desk, not one in bathroom,(kind of odd).
Hotel Response
We are sorry about the smoking room request. We recently changed to a smoke-free property and it has been updated on our hotel listing. In regards to your parking charges, I hope our staff was able to assist you. We do encourage our guest to contact the hotel if they encounter any issues so that we can address them appropriately. We hope you will visit us again, but if you are looking for a smoking hotel we have smoking rooms at the Omni Royal Orleans in the French Quarter.

The rooms and the lobby are nicely done with marble. It's within 2 blocks of where part of the French Quarter begins. The only thing that was bothersome to me was that a guest, with a car, must use valet parking. I did not like this for two reasons: 1. It added $25.00 per night to my bill. 2. I like the freedom to go to my car and put items in or take items out whenever I choose.

I have to say all the hotels I ever stayed in this was the worst one. I requested a room with double beds, instead they offer a room with a hot tub. Due to the fact there was only 7 Double beds room in the whole hotel. I asked for a roll away bed, but of course their out of roll away beds. Now this is the worst part. After paying for the room with hotel. com the hotel charges a extra $1000.00 for the room, once again they don't know how the charges was applied to me. 4 days later I'm still waiting on my money to be credit back to my account. On top of all this drama the hotels couldn't provides us with any kind of face towels, supposedly they were all messed up. You are a hotel go buy some more. The hotel also have no ice machines on no floors, vending machines of coke machines, we couldn't even get a trash can for our room. I'm don't have time to really write how I feel about the OMNI, just try to provide you with some insight of my experience at this hotel

My room was located on the 2nd floor, and the street noise was so loud that sleep was difficult. Also, my booking information through hotels.com was not in the hotel computer even though I had confirmation. The front desk had to confirm my booking, and my check-in time was delayed by over an hour. This resulted in great frustration. A good rate, but I would have paid more for a decent sleep and a smooth check-in.

Trip Type: Romance Review 8 of 8Worst Hotel Stay Ever
The Omni Cresent was the worst hotel I have ever stayed the night. The whole hotel was under construction. We had to move rooms twice. Once, the air conditioning was not working in our room. Then in the middle of the night a pipe in the next room busted and flooded our room. Everything was soaked! We had to wait an hour to change rooms after reporting the problem. All we could do was sit in bed and wait. We had plans to meet some friends early that morning, but we were waiting to switch rooms to shower. This trip was a total disaster. I will never stay at an Omni hotel again
