Trip Type: With Friends Review 1 of 18Big Fat Roach
Well....when we entered the room we were very pleased then we looked up and saw a huge roach.....one that looked like it could fly. It was soo big we thought it was a bird. My cousin (who is 6'3" and weighs 300+ lbs) knocked it down and tried to kill it and the roach was not going down easy. He stood on top of the roach and lifted his foot and the roach took off. He finally caught the roach and smushed it to smitterines and the front desk and happy to change our room to a different room...however...the first impression was already made. They gave us a $25 discount but we were still scared to sleep with the lights off and both eyes closed.

It would be nice to know that you would be in an adjacent builing, not the hotel shown on the website, if you choose a Cabana suite. Those suites need to be improved as upon my visit, there were several safety concerns. The staff were not spirited, almost as if they wish they weren't working. The business center has only 2 computers..go figure the wait time. The one good thing I can say is that the breakfast was good, but I don't plan on any return trips.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 3 of 18Why is this rated 3 stars??
I wonder why this hotel/motel (not kidding about the motel part, cabana anyone?)is rated 3 stars?? Even funnier, the hotels website puts themselves at 4!! Here is a fine analogy of the "Hotel Elegante": You order a seeming perfect grade A steak for $90 (Ballpark) at a fine dining establishment. You wait 35min for it to cook (airport pickup). When the meal finally arrives, you get excited. You pick up your fork and knife in anticipation, get ready to carve in this masterpiece, and.....its made of cheap plastic!! Completely hollowed out on the inside!!! No Meat!! Ahhh! You call the waiter over, but no response (room phone broken). Maybe you can eat some of this bread until he comes back, but no, its crusty (cable channels all fuzzy). You finally summon the waiter and now you understand, Welcome to Motel Elegante!

Trip Type: Family Review 4 of 18Not what we expected
hotel was dirty, food sat outside door for two days that didn't belong to us. It was there before we got there. The pool was closed for our stay. They were having to shock it. It was 100 degrees outside.

Trip Type: Family Review 5 of 18don't stay here!!!
It is not in a good location. It looks like they are trying to make this a nice hotel, but they are just covering up old crapy stuff. We had a huge cover up patch job in the ceiling of our bathroom. The doors are so thin you can hear everything that goes on in the hallways. All of this wouldn't have been a problem if i was paying $30 a night, but it was a problem for what I paid a night.

Trip Type: Rest and Recreation Review 6 of 18Not quite three star
I got a good deal on this suite room 2 queen beds and separate sitting room. So it was a nice big room, but that's about all the good I have to say about it. The bathroom was run down. The outside of the hotel was run down. The staff was only ok. The included braekfast was only for two guests even though there was four booked for the room. The staff decided it would be a good idea to clean carpets on the first floor at 0800 on Sunday morning and block off the only inside entrance from my outside entrance pool-side cabana room. I usually stay in 2 star hotels so I really expected more.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 7 of 18Needs improvement
Hotel needs to be better maintained.Bathroom door knob was about to fall off & ceiling over bath tub was falling in.Found huge "water bug" in bath tub on initial entry.Carpet was extremely dirty & walking around bare foot attested to that.T.V. was very difficult to navigate through.Restaurant crew was very rude & inattentive unless you were Hispanic.Little did they know that both my wife & I are fluent in Spanish so we knew what they were saying about us. Room was very comfortable & roomy.Slept well & very little outside noise.Location was good as well.

Rooms were old and the paint was nasty. Def not a 4star more of a motel 6.

Wasn't a 4 star like they advertise. They breakfest was good, that was about it. The beds were hard, and the room needed some repairs. Disappointed.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 11 of 18Neighborhood a little scary.
The room's door was outside and that seemed a little scary. Hotel was not located in the best part of town. In fact, I wouldn't go to my car after dark. The hotel was comfortable and the free breakfast was really good, but unless you have a personal security guard I wouldn't chance it.

Trip Type: Business Review 12 of 18Needs Reno/Updating/Friendly Staff
I travel for business and stay in approximately 4-6 hotels per month. Considering the overall rating from user reviews, I'd have to disagree with others' assessments. Hotels.com's rating is actually quite generous. Beginning with the tired-looking registration desk area; old-school lobby; elevators are old and look it; ironing board was broken; carpet had some stains; furniture dated and worn; microwave missing from cabinet in room for refridgerator and microwave; curtain rod/track broken - hard to close curtains; hot water took a long time to come out; internet service down for a couple of hours; outlet in bathroom not functional. Staff was friendly and did work to make several of the above items right. As someone else said, there are better choices in the area for a similar price. By the way, if you are someone who would be offended by a public display of the 10 Commandments, there is a 6' granite monolith of them installed at the main entrance. Doesn't matter to me, but it might to other potential guests.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 13 of 18For the Money There are Better Hotels
The hotel is supposedly under renovation, however while I was there the only renovation I saw going on was the addition of another wing. The rooms are outdated, with many patches in the walls, carpeting, etc. The rooms were not bad at all, and they were clean. However, for your money there are many newer and nicer hotels in the area to stay in. I have stayed at numerous MCM Elegantes in several cities and this one is, by far, the worst of the bunch!

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 14 of 18It's Not like the others
There is a MCM Elegante in Odessa, it is darn near a 5 star resort. Complete with room service, restaurant, bar, gorgeous furniture and "Heavenly" Beds in all rooms. It also has a spa, bell boys. It is really nice. However, MCM Dallas, is not even close. I understand it is under construction right now and the rooms were clean. They were not updated and there was no full service attendants. The van service is nice but only runs to the airport every hour and they failed to mention this to us upon check-in. It depends on what you are looking in for a hotel, if you just need a clean room with a/c to sleep, paying the $80 plus tax was not bad, if you are looking for more, look elsehwere.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 15 of 18so..so
The Hotel is okay for the price that I paid for it, but I would have rather just paid a little extra money and stayed somewhere else. Front desk customer service when i checked is was terrible, Lost my keys called to check about it they acted like they didnt know, come to find out they were sitting right there at the front desk where i had checked in at. hotel is under construction at the time, alot of little minor things need to be fixed with the hotel, i would recommend paying a little more money and staying somewhere else...would never suggest this hotel to anyone, unless its the last resort and money is extremely tight!!
