Trip Type: With Friends Review 1 of 11Very basic hotel that aims to achieve more.
This boutique hotel is cute and modern, and has really great service. That said, I was disappointed with the fact that the 'Jacuzzi' isn't actually part of the hotel, it's part of the spa, and can only be used by paying a spa fee, and only during spa hours (which is limited on weekends). That means if you're in town to explore the city or work, and are hoping to escape to the jacuzzi for an hour or so at night for a relaxing dip, it's NOT happening. They also offer very limited room service. It's nice that their suites offer a full kitchen, but as a couple visiting Toronto, we didn't make any use of that. The hotel also offers turn down service and meditation classes. It seems like it's aiming to be more of a fancy home away from home if you were planning on LIVING there, but not a whole lot of extra amenities for VISITING there. Also, parking and internet for 2 days added over $100 to my bill. So don't forget to account for those costs when choosing the hotel. I would recommend grabbing a hotel with more services available for your vacation.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 2 of 11Terrible Service
The hotel itself is a pretty cool building, and layout is very contemporary. When we checked in the two guys at the front desk had no clue. First they told us we had no reservation. After about ten minutes of searching they found it. The room key did not work. We were on the 18th floor and had to go up and down three times before they moved us to another room, that did not accomodate. We ordered a cot. They took the cot out of the room after we left on Saturday night, when we got back to the hotel on Saturday night the cot was gone. Had to wait another 15 minutes for the cot, we were paying 25 dollars a night for.

Trip Type: Business Review 4 of 11Cool but too many basic flaws
Hotel aura is great and the rooms are well laid out. If you want a kitchen, then this hotel is even more valuable. If you are into Zen, then you'll like it even more. A few basic things were annoying: - water in shower didn't drain - A/C too loud - Charged for Internet

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 5 of 11More show than substance
While the cosmopolitan hotel sure looked the part with the swanky modern decor we expected, the overall feel of our stay did not live up to our expectations at the rate we paid. To me, the most offensive was the condition of the grout and tile in our shower. For a hotel trying to market themselves as this providing a tranquil modern zen atmosphere, I was rather disgusted by seeing brown dirty grout lines in the place I want to feel the most clean. I mean, a simple bath-fitter type wall covering would have made a world of difference. Also, for our stay, our room was graciously equipped with 1 free bottle of water and an apple! (*sarcasm). For the price we paid for a one nite stay, any other hotel would have provided a little more courtesy to its guests. On top of that you have the snacks and brand name waters from the mini-bar staring at you with their ridiculous price tags. My fiance and I definitely felt crowded in the room quickly, and constantly had to shuffle around each other just to do our basic daily routines. We did try to spend most of our time out of the room and walking around the downtown toronto area however, so, the convenience of the hotel location was nice. My fiance and I also got ourselves side-by-side sweedish massages at the hotel spa which was by far the best part of the stay. The spa is gorgeous with its eastern zen like decor, and we felt relaxed immediately after changing into our robes and having some tea in the waiting area. The massages were fantastic, mine was the most pleasantly painful massage Ive ever had. I really felt that my masseuse working through the tension in my shoulders and low back that I told her about before hand. Overall, I'd give the hotel itself a low-fair rating in terms of value for the money, but I would give the spa a wonderful rating as a relaxing retreat activity.

Trip Type: Rest and Recreation Review 8 of 11Over-rated. Experience doesn't match the claims.
The room was not as described. It was chopped up. Mostly a bed and a kitchenette. No place to sit and work. The restaurant was closed for renovation. The spa was far from five-star. The people were friendly enough but services were minimal. We ended up paying for two nights and staying for one... but cannot blame that on the hotel. The coming blizzard was not their fault. Still, we won't be going back to this place.

The rooms are nicely decorated--very Zen. Suites sacrifice room in bedroom to have large kitchen space and a laundry space. Closets are tiny. No place to store luggage. Service was mixed.

Trip Type: Romance Review 11 of 11To expensive not enough to offer
If your single and want to get away by your self this is the hotel for you. I found that the loby was very small, they did not have any complimentary services, no pool just a spa room with a jacuzzi, that you had to buy a spa treatment pkg to use. They also offer massage's $300 for a couple. They say the room has a balcony, yes a balcony looking into a wall and dumpster. The hotel did have a small weight room though, i guess thats a plus if you want to exercise on your getaway. I would not recomend this hotel for a romantic getaway for the amount of money you spend here go somewhere that is more complimentary and has more to offer.
