Was not happy with the $20.00 parking fee. Won't stay again with the added fee. Hotel was very good though.

Needs Improvement

I think they should have told us the parking was 21.00 a night.

OK HOTEL

The staff was not so very friendly. As I walked the property during my stay, 2 out of 10 employees made eye contact with me and gave a warm greeting. The floor in my room was not swept nor vaccumed at all. I had to wear slippers in the room because of the dirt on the floor. The bathroom was all disgusting. The corners of the shower had mold which was also disgusting. Overall the hotel was okay. I would not stay in the hotel again.

Just dissappointed all the way

First the front desk had that stiff upper lip syndrome. They gave me a room which I would'nt put my dog in if I had one, they then change it and gave me another that needed cleaning and I had the worst night ever. The pillows were so bad from some type of stench I had to have them change. I made a call which did'nt connect to my home in New York, they decoded my room keys and told me I had to pay $50+ so I can go back to my room. Room service charge more than what the food cost to bring it to you. I would,nt stay there never ever again or even recommend it to anyone. I would rather stay on the streets.

Customer Service needs to be greatly improved.

Maintenance of the room (A/C, Shower, cleanliness) needs to be improved. When I spoke with management, they were very unresponsive. Also, when privacy tag was put on the door, employees just entered. Again, management was very unresponsive. Extra charges were added. They charged taxes upon their parking fees when the signs stated that taxes were included. Again, management was unresponsive.

a "resort" ?

We stayed there at New Year's Eve The pools were not heated, the whirlpool was not working. We had reserved a Lanai pool room with king bed and balcony. We had to go back to the front desk to get a King. Finally ended up with a view of the parking lot and no balcony

Room had a musty odor.

For the price I paid for this hotel, I was expecting much more. First, I typically don't stay in hotels with exterior corridors and thought that a four star rating and the price that the hotel would have interior corridors. Second, although the room was very modern and nicely decorated, the first thing me and my family noticed was the musty smell. We immediately left to buy febreeze to try and get rid of the smell. After paying what we did, that was the last thing I would expect to have to do. I cannot comment on the tower rooms but the room we had makes me say I will not be going back.

Not what I expected

I felt like I was at a cheaper hotel when I arrived in my room. We were told we would have rooms close by our friends however they were about 25 rooms apart or more. We also had problems at first with our key not being activated and having to go back to the desk to reactivate it to open our door. The room was less than grand. I felt like it was more of a motel than a hotel room. The bathroom had dirt and mold in the corner of the shower. Also the door to the balcany was very difficult to open. The rest of the hotel was nice.

Not too bad for the price, but shady charges

To begin this review, I'd like to mention that I am an open-minded person and see the glass as half full vs. half empty. So here's my opinion and the scoop on our stay. We traveled to Ft. Lauderdale to cruise with Royal Caribbean, so our stay was just a couple days at the Pier 66. The hotel was under construction which is understandable, but getting to an from the front desk area was very crammed with our family and luggage. The staff was somewhat friendly, I asked if their was a shuttle to take anywhere and the man at the front desk said "no". So we used the public transit and was the cheapest route for the four of us. This leads me to my "shady" comment in the header. As we were leaving, the man at the desk (a different one), said there would be a $12 charge for use of the shuttle to the beach, internet access, and other extra amenities. I was shocked because we were initially told there was no shuttle, and second, we didn't use any of these services. We booked our trip through hotels.com and paid for in advance, so the additional $12 charge is shady as we thought we were paid in full. The Pier 66 is nice if you want to be within a mile of Port Everglades, and we did walk about a mile to Einstein Bros for breakfast one morning. We saw the draw bridge and some other nice yachts and things that we have never seen before (we're from Utah). My son, 7 years old, enjoyed the pool area and the grounds are kept up for the most part. So overall, I may stay again, but I enjoy going to different hotels and resorts to get the different experiences.
