Trip Type: Business Review 1 of 7Dissatisfied
Stayed there Sept 14-15, 2009. Chose this hotel for my business trip in London based on location (proximity to meetings) and price relative to that of the surrounding hotels. The staff was coureous and helpful. The reasons that I would not give a high recommendation are: My room was small, smelled of smoke and mold, and was dank. The hotel could very well use a complete makeover; furniture is very old and tired. I was traveling with a colleague and my understanding is that his experience was similarly unsatisfactory. When I plugged in my electric shaver (it wasn't charged) in the mirror socket in the bathroom, it wouldn't hold so I had to press hard and hold the cord into the socket during the entire time I was shaving - which was very inconvenient. As we had a very gruling itinerary, I did not have the time to lodge any complaints. Wish we could get a refund as overall we were not happy with our stay at Club Quarters Gracechurch especially in light of the high price they charge. Bottom line, not a good value.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 2 of 7Location, Location, Location
The major problem with this hotel is the location. If you are in London on financial business, it is ideal. Any other reason and it is inconvenient. The problem arises at night when all the local restaurants and pubs close (and they are all closed all weekend long) so you are stuck getting on the tube to go someplace where there is life. Room service is outrageously expensive.

Trip Type: Business Review 3 of 7Good price, bad service
There are no safes in the rooms. We decided to put valuables in safe, but always had to wait up to 20 minutes to get things in and out because front desk was busy. One day we left our room at 2pm and it was not cleaned after we left. When we returned that evening,we called to get towels and the front desk argued with us saying we left after 3pm and no rooms are cleaned after that time. They brought us new towels, but only after we had to argue to get them.

Trip Type: Business Review 4 of 7Service Needs Improvement
Reception was stone cold. I was told that there would be a sur charge for an early check-in. Surprise! This was a first for me; afterall, if the room is not occupied and available why not let the customer in? Even though the desk clerk pulled up my record on their computer, I was directed and accompanied to a kiosk to complete the check-in process. The kiosk didn't work and I spent the next five minutes waiting around while the clerk tried to fix the problem. Since she wasn't able to do so, back we both went to the registration desk to complete the check-in. The process took much longer than necessary with no apology. The room was spartan at best. I would have given it high marks for cleanliness except that there was a collection of toe nail clippings on the carpet next to the bed. Housekeeping was less than adequate. There was no replenishment of shower gel and wash cloths became non-existent after the first night. The only redeeming virtue came at check-out (no attempt at a kiosk check-out) where the early checkin charge was ignored.

Trip Type: Business Review 5 of 7Very Odd Hotel - Think Salvador Dali
Check in is done via credit card inserted into a "check-in teller machine". The front desk is tiny and remote from the check-in teller. The hallways are very narrow and I felt like a rat in a maze, making lots of twists and turns to get to my room. The room was nice enough though the bathroom was very dated. Breakfast area is underground, poorly lit and you sit on fur covered chairs -- most bizarre. On Saturday I tried to eat in the hotel after 7PM but couldn't because their restaurant closes at 7PM! The hotel is in a quiet section of London, convenient to the Tower of London and Tower Bridge. Unfortunately it is hotel that makes you think of being in a Salvador Dali painting. I would not recommend this to anyone. Definitely the oddest hotel I have ever stayed at.

Trip Type: Business Review 6 of 7Descent business hotel
I traveled with my girlfriend, and this is not a romantic hotel. Its quite decent and pretty close to London Tower and the touristbuses for London. We even walked from Soho in half an hour. But the hotel is mainly suitable for business travelers.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 7 of 7Small Rooms, smaller bathrooms
Bathrooms had no plugs in them except for shavers which is very inconvenient for women. Where there are plugs there are no mirrors. Standard rooms do not have baths only showers. The hotel advertised free wireless and complimentary internet, but I stayed in 2 rooms and the internet did not work in either.
