Would be great hotel if had different management and front staff.

The manager was very rude and one of the front desks girls did something very unappropriate to me. You have no personal privacy at this hotel and they will give your personal information to anyone that calls into the hotel questioning about you. No Privacy!!

Timeless Grandeur and great Staff

This hotel was not in the best location, it was a little difficult to find the valet parking. However the rooms and staff were great. Received a free upgrade to a Penthouse which was wonderful if you love the charm of a period hotel. Everything was great but I am not a big fan of the vintage look.

needs improvement

i was not happy with this hotel because when i got there and checked in we went to room and i got in the bed and layed down then i got up and read everthing in the room and looked around the room didnt look like a 4 star room the bathroom was very nice thats the only thing that looked good in that room. so after that we left for the night and when got back i notice that someone from the hotel went into the room when we gone and they put a candy on the bed and left a note saying that the water would be off for 2 hours in the morning right before checkout . so i took a bath that night so for that very nice bathroom while the bathtub had a leek and water went everywhere so that was something that i had to clean and i put a towel around the area that was leeking so i could finsh my bath.

Pricey But Nice Hotel

Just note that the hotel does have valet parking only and they charge you quite a bit to valet park each night. The location was not as convenient as I thought it would be to a lot of the local attractions. The bed was not extremely comfortable, and overall, the room wasn't anything fancy as far as decor and bedding. The bathroom did have a really nice shower and jetted tub. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. There was no excess noise heard from other rooms or the hall; it was nice and peaceful. The hotel does have a nice, but pricey restuarant on location as well as a bar lounge. It also has a nice, but somewhat pricey day spa that provides the works. The gym is extremely nice if you like to workout. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who likes a downtown nightclub scene and doesn't mind spending quite a bit extra beyond the cost of the room.

Horrible!!

No wonder this hotel is always "on sale"...do not be fooled! Nothing good to say about this place. The people are rude and I cannot believe it's still considered a 4 star...it's not even close! There are so many other hotels in this area, steer clear of this one!

not happy

i chose this hotel for a nice night out with me and my fiance, i was not impressed at all, to start offthey gave us the wrong room to begin with, a room alot cheaper then i paid for, the tv didnt work, and the bathtub had problems, the rooms were beautiful, but i wouldnt recomend this hotel for the money you spend

Not worth the price

It was our wedding night and I specifically booked a room with a jacuzzi; but instead got a basic room with regular tub. It was not worth the money and time spent driving to the hotel. We should have just stayed in town.

Not as good as it once was

My most recent stay at Hotel Icon was a truly disappointing one. There was a cockroach in my hotel room and they said they would upgrade me to a nicer room, but just moved me to another floor. And the person working the counter joked that he wasn't the one that put the roach in the room...now that's professional! They did not comp any aspect of my stay...it was not my first time to stay at Hotel Icon but certainly will be my last. For this class of hotel, I expect better - not just roach-free rooms, but superior service - 2 things which Hotel Icon did not provide. I suggest you think twice before booking a room at this hotel.

NICE HOTEL NEEDS A LITTLE BETTER SERVICE

LOVED THE WAY HOTEL LOOKED. LOCATION TO DOWNTOWN GREAT. EVERYONE VERY NICE. ON OUR ANNIVERSARY TRIED TO GET ROOM SERVICE AT 9:20. WHEN WE CALLED THEY SAID VERY BACKED UP WOULD HAVE SOME ONE CALL US. CALLED AGAIN 20 MIN. LATER AS ROOM SERVICE CLOSES AT 10:00-GOT SAME RESPONSE. AT 10:15 CALLED BACK AND THEY SAID CLOSED. WISH THEY WOULD HAVE JUST TOLD US IN THE BEGINNING. RESTAURANT NEVER SEEMED OPEN OR ANYONE THERE.VERY QUIET HOTEL. IF YOU WANT MORE ACTIVITY STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE, THOUGHT SERVICE COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER FOR PRICE WE PAID.

Rude Staff

Upon checking in, the man at the front desk was pompous and rude - it took over 10 minutes to be checked in and I was the only one there - he was just standing around. My room was next to the noisy elevator and the hot water dial was broken in the shower. When they changed the room, which was faily quickly, they put me in a handicap room - it was very annoying - not exactly the place to spend a romantic and peaceful evening - couldn't even enjoy a nice soak in the tub because of the handicap bench, etc. I was very disappointed and would not recommend it. I was treated rather like a second class citizen and I probably make 3X the salary of the staff at the hotel. What snobs!

Pros: *we got an upgrade when we got there *jucuzzi tub *bank vault at front desk was playa playa Cons: *wallpaper coming off the walls *the tub took forever to fill up...something was messed up *the door latch from inside the room was half way ripped off as if someone had tried to kick open the door *my wife ordered room service and it took so long to get up there that she fell asleep...when I called about it, they had lost our order *the next day when I ordered food, it was sub par and cold I'll never go back...we tried it out, but there are way better hotels in downtown that will give ya way more bang for your buck

Hotel is Nice, Service is Awful

Service in the restaurant, Voice, was extremely slow and inattentive. Room service was repeatedly delayed and never delivered.
