I came away with 3 bug bites near my knee, 2 on my lower back and 2 on my nose near my eye. These bites are still visible, now, more than a week later. I am hoping that I did not bring these critters home with me. I washed and dry cleaned all clothing and left my suitcase and shoes out in the Arizona sun for a day hoping the heat would kill anything there.

Needs much improvement

They say they have renovated, not our room. You could have put the furniture on the curb and nobody would take it. When we arrived we complained about an odor in the room. We were told they were full but that we would be able to move on the next day. That didn't happen. We tried breakfast in the morning, ours was brought to our table without toast, when we asked about that they said it would be right out. It never came. The only redeeming factor about our stay was the great bartender in the piano bar.

Not a Four-Star By Any Means

The Raphael was under construction which I took into account when evaluating the situation. I certainly do not think this hotel should be rated a four-star. The location is great, but the Hotel didn't even have a small gift shop or drugstore on the premises. The one hotel restaurant was not that impressive.

Not Happy

Only 1 elevator was working. The ceiling was cracking, the room needed painted and the carpet was extremely worn. Had to jiggle the toilet knob to get the toilet to stop flushing and then it made a loud noise when to water stopped, vibrating the water pipe!!! I expected more from a high class hotel.

Not Good

Renovations I understand but an outdated room with old tired and uncomfortable furniture I do not. I will not ever stay here again! It deserves maybe one star but for sure not 4, that is an absolute joke and they are getting away with robbery in charging the rates they charge! The location and service is good but the hotel itself SUCKS!!

Needs Improvement

We were not told that the hotel was under construction when we booked our room. The room right next to ours was on of the rooms that they were working on along with the lobby. We went to check out early and found out that we could not get credit for the second day.

Could Have Been Great

The hotel is being rennovated, so it was loud, the halls were congested, and services were dealyed. While we understand the need for hotels to be rennovated, we felt the hotel should have informed us of the construction work. Also, there were loud drunk people in the rooms across from ours. We called he front desk about this, but they appeared to do nothing as the noise continued. On our second night, there was a loud fight involving drunk people in the hall outside our room around 3:00 am. The hotel has a great location in Kansas City, and certainly could be charming. It unfortunaetly was not for us.
