Trip Type: Rest and Recreation Review 1 of 8Very Friendly Staff But Not Much Else
The staff at Madera is very accomodating always available. Our room had sheets and blankets with small blood stains on them. When we contacted the staff they did not have them changed, but the second time they had the sheets and blanket changed right away and gave us free continental breakfast for the duration of our stay along with a bottle of wine and an apology note. The location is good, 15 minute walk to downtown. The room itself was a nice size but the bathroom was way too small. If the hotel was as good as its staff I would definately reccomend it, but I will look somewhere else next time in DC.

Trip Type: Romance Review 2 of 8clean
I was surposed to have a view of the city a balcony as they stated, but instead I had a view of the backyard ,garbadge can and the back of other buildings. soundproof what a joke, all we heard was noice, note sure if it was the elevator or the garbadge disposal.

Trip Type: Romance Review 3 of 8A bit shabby
Have stayed at several Kimptons in other cities and surprised to find this one did not live up to the Kimpton reputation. Clogged toilet, loose faucet handles, noise from elevators were unpleasant. Staff quick to help but the problems detracted from the stay. Would not recommend.

Trip Type: Business Review 4 of 8disappointing hotel
The room was so small you could hardly turnaround in it. The bathroom was not even as large as a closet. I am disappointed in the lobby, which is also a very bland and unimpressive area which should be a giveaway as to the rest of the hotel. People were nice, but the hotel is well below what I was lead to believe it would be.

Trip Type: Business Review 8 of 8Quirky layout that some find charming and others find annoying
It seems like this was a very old hotel that has been completely redone. Everything is new and clean but they didn't change the floorplan so the rooms and hallways are laid out in a starnge design and the bathrooms are TINY. It's perfect for a single person but a couple can feel cramped.
