OK Hotel

The location of the hotel is poor. The shopping center across the street has empty stores and restaurants. If you love the beach or pools you might like this hotel. The conference center lobby was drab and dreary. The conference rooms were okay.

NEEDS MORE STAFF

We waited until 5:15 to get into our room. They did not compensate us at all. They said you'll have to wait.. We stayed 2 nights and the second day we didn't get our room cleaned until 8pm.. WOW.. Other than that I think that the hotel has potential.. Needs more staff..

Our stay

Half the hotel was in good shape, however, the room we stayed in was dated, and run down. It looked about 30 years old, and it probably wasnt much to look at then. We decided to leave,and never received a refund, and had to spend the night somewhere else.

Not a resort

Did not provide room service everyday (1 out of 3 days) - when I asked why they stated they were a "Green" Resort. Wife was hurt on the beach - they offered no help. Long lines at the desk - long waits to check in and out. Food was burnt. Charged a "Resort Fee". Last time they get my money.

would not recommend

I HAVE ARRIVED EARLY HOPING TO GET IN THE ROOM, MAYBE A COUPLE OF HOURS EARLY WAS TOLD I COULD USE POOL, CHECKED BACK FOUR TIMES AND AT 515PM WAS TOLD THEY DID NOT HAVE THE ROOM I HAD RENTED. I WAS FINALLY IN A ROOM BY 530 FOR A 4PM CHECK IN I HAD TO PAY 140.00 FOR A DEPOSIT WHICH 40 WAS NON REFUNDBLE. WE WERE THERE FROM THURS UNTIL SUN DAY AND THEY NEVER ONCE CLEANED OUR ROOM, AND WE HAD NO PILLOWCASES THE FIRST NIGHT FOR THE PULLOUT SOFA. EVERY DAY I HAD TO CHASE DOWN THE MAID AROUND 5PM TO GET TOWELS, WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO WASHCLOTH, SO WE COULD TAKE A SHOWER TO GO OUT FOR THE EVENING, I HAD STAYED IN ORLANDO FOR SIX DAYS IN A TWO BEDROOM TWO BATH SUITE THAT WAS CLEANED DAILY, BEFORE COMING OVER TO DAYTONA, THAT COST LESS THAN WE PAID FOR THE THREE DAYS WE PAID THERE. I DEFINTELY WOULD NOT STAY THERE AGAIN OR RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE.

Hidden service fees.

This hotel charged us an additional 80.00 when we checked in. They called it a resort fee. When I asked what the resort fee was, they told me it was to cover things like two bottles of water per day for your room and a daily newspaper. I don`t know how much water and newspapers cost in FL but, this seems a little high. We received bottled water for the first two days and didn`t receive it after that. Maid service was lacking in the clean towel and washcloth department. There were four people in the room and we started with 4 towels and 4 washcloths. Every day we got something different. One day we`d get 3 towels and 1 washcloth or 4 towels and no washcloths. We never received 4 and 4 for the weeks stay. Repeated calls to the front desk didn`t seem to help. I know it`s nitpicky but, when you`ve been out all day the last thing you want to do is try to chase down a simple thing like a washcloth so, you can shower before you go to bed.

Needs Improvement

Hotel needs improvement, old tv's, paid for oceanfront room and had a partial view of the ocean and a great view of the AC units.

Needs improvement too exspensive

Did not let us know they were remodeling restaurant. Was unable to get room service breakfast, meals, main reason for staying here, to let the older kids enjoy themselves without leaving the hotel.

So-so

Room had a slight mildew odor, noticiable only upon entering the room. Room was cramped with the layout of the kitchen sharing space with lavoratory area. We thought we had a private balcony, but did not. This is biggest reason for not returning. The balcony was also the access passage to rooms. So you had kids running back and forth till all hours of the night. If I had wanted to stay in a budget motel, this would have been acceptable. But calling yourself a "resort", stretches it a little. Could have stayed at the Wyndum for a little more and had a much larger room, and private balcony.

Poor housekeeping for the money

The staff at the desk was fabulous, however, we stayed for 5 days and our room was only cleaned once and only half of it was cleaned at that. Also, a couple of personal belongings were taken out of the room. Also, the spa, was excellent but overcharged us for a spa package. Overall, my expectations were not met.

False advertising

The hotel itself was clean comfortable and right on the beach. The only complaint that I have is that I booked a "one bedroom" suite, and when we checked in the "bedroom" was separated by a 3/4 wall, not a door. I was traveling with my two small children and the entire reason I booked this room was to have a separate bedroom. I called the front desk and they informed me that this was considered one bedroom. However, all the pictures both on this site and their own show a door separating the two areas. This ruined my vacation experience and the hotel refused to make it right. If all you want is a basic hotel room, then by all means stay there. But if you want anything else choose another. Otherwise our stay was fine. The cleaning staff are great, and the front desk people were very polite in telling me that I could not have what I booked. But that doesn't count for much now does it. I won't be staying there again.

"Good hotel, location not so great"

I liked the hotel alot (front desk clerk was definitely snotty upon check in and shoved a bunch of spring break rules at us like we were going to be a problem, when in fact we are all adults). Great cleanliness and huge rooms. One thing is I paid for oceanfront and the only view of ocean was a tiny tiny balcony for super skinny people that you could see by bending around a corner, disappointed when I paid so much money. Resort fee to pay was a huge pain and restraunt was closed, kind of out of the way in comparison to the stuff to do on the beach. I definitely will not be returning to Daytona Beach anytime soon. Other than that hotel is good if you just want to get away and pay a huge price for two bottles of water.

Needs New Management

Nice upscale Hotel on the Ocean. Clean well stocked room (except for toilet paper & tissues). Many fine ammenities. After Booking thru Hotels.com I called the Hotel Directly & confirmed it was Ocean front w/two queen beds. We arrive get a King bed & one sm pullout couch. Lady at the front desk asked"how do you know you were getting two queens you booked thru Hotels.com". When we told her we confirmed with them directly after booking it & I had the name of the person I spoke to and the date and time .She didnt seem to care but did say she would pass that info onto the mgr and offered to book us an additional room with a queen bed since the room we booked was unavailable. Housekeeping comes very late I requested they come before dinner so we could have fresh towels when we shower. While waiting 20 minutes for my key to be reactivated for the 3rd time I heard complaining from the other guests about the rooms not being ready for them when it was over an hour past check in time. We stayed at other Hotels and had no problems. When we checked out the hotels computers were down so to date I have no receipt and they never asked how my stay was. I wonder why?
