Trip Type: Special Event Review 1 of 44Noisy
The hotel is nice but I sady had neighbors who parties until 3am and the walls are thin. I asked management to ask them to quiet down at about 2pm and I did hear them try, but they took it into their room and continued to be loud.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 2 of 44Caliente Tropic Stay
I have to say I was very disappointed in my stay with this hotel. When I checked in the person checking me in let me know they had had some power outages but they may only have one more. I appreciated the heads up. I went to my room to take a shower before going out. I found there were only two hand towels. No problem I went to the office to ask for towels. I also asked for a 5 AM wake up call. I went to take my shower to find out that there was only cold water. I called the desk and they told me that they would look into it but it was likely the hot water heaters were affected by the power outage. I was told they would look into it and if there was a problem they would get back to me. I went to bed and was woken up by the front desk calling. Though the call did not come at 5 AM as requested but 4 AM. I spent the next hour trying to get a bit more sleep. I then found out that despite what I was told the previous night there was no hot water yet again. So less than 12 hours and two cold showers, no towels and waking my up at the wrong time. I would have to say you would be best advised to not stay here in the future. While anyone can make a mistake it takes a lot to screw things up that badly. Save yourself the hassle and waste of money staying there.

Trip Type: Family Review 3 of 44Value for your money got an extra charge for $50.00 3 months later
All in all the hotel is nothing flashy it's clean and quiet. My only complaint was this my sister in law paid $50 to keep one room for a few exra hours and my credit card was charged for the same amount 3 MONTHS LATER. When I challenged the charge we no longer had the receipt and the manager Ashley told me no receipt no proof so I ate it. We had previously stayed at this hotel at least 6 times before and never had any issues before now, but I was very UNIMPRESSED BY THE MANAGER IN CHARGE!!!! Check you bills

We stayed a year ago for a few days and really liked it. This time not so much. Check in time was 4:00 I waited in line for 15 min to check in it was after 4 the room was not ready, I had to come back in a half and hour to get the key. The restaurant and lounge were closed and vacant. Seemed like the place needed maintenance. Stairs were falling apart, holes in wall of the restauarnt We even lost power for a while and had no lights for about 15 min. The place had a nice pool good for kids, and the beds were okay

Hotel exterior not anything like the picture in the brochure, is somewhat shabby and needs updating badly. Beds were comfortable but bath was moldy and shower head hardly worked. Further away from the downtown area than thought it was according to maps. Ok for what was paid. Would not stay again.

Trip Type: Rest and Recreation Review 6 of 44Needs Improvement
Don't know why it is called "resort" because it only felt like a Motel 6 with a larger pool. The clerks at the front desk had no record of my online reservation(I actually had to call hotels.com along with the person behind me). There were a lot more "resorts" near the area that I should have paid a little more for the true resort style stays.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 7 of 44Good Location, Bad Service
If you are looking for a hotel that is between the hot spots in Palm Springs this is a good spot, however, every single day i was disappointed by another incompetent hotel desk worker. Don't ask for concierge help because you will get directions sounding something like, "um, yeah just head out to the left and you'll find lots of stuff." However, if you have a general plan of what you want to and need no help, it is a pleasant stay with a nice pool and grass area to enjoy the weather. I found that i got what i paid for, at least they had nice tiki man kleenex dispensers

Trip Type: Romance Review 8 of 44Skip this place.
My husband and I don't get to go away much, but with our 10th wedding anniversary we wanted to do something kind of quirky/special. We both love modern architecture and kitsch so Palm Springs seemed a natural choice for a weekend getaway. We chose the Caliente Tropics because it had the Tiki fun factor, but also seemed to be a nice hotel. Well, it isn't that nice now and on top of that, their supposed Tiki bar was closed on a Saturday night during winter tourist season in Palm Springs. So much for a lounge around cocktail. The Mexican Food restaurant that is on site is actually going out of business in a few weeks and boy did the service/attitude in the restaurant reflect that (and they also weren't serving liquor, so much for margaritas while on vacation). The woman that helped my husband on check-in was just flat out rude. Very disappointing. And the bed covers were more there to exfoliate than they are to use as blankets (i.e., scratchy). Oh well. We won't be back.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 10 of 44OK for price
I was kind of disappointed with the hotel in comparison to price paid. Room was kept nice and clean and was pretty comfortable for stay. Bathroom was small. I had issue with door lock and nobody could come to help out. Only wireless internet available which is not secure and no way to access broadband. No breakfast available. There is a mexican restaurant on site for lunch/dinner but never used it.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 11 of 44had some problems
the room was clean and comfortable, but when we came back at 1:30 am to go to sleep we found out that our door would not open and the office closed at 11pm.we had no one to call or phone numbers posted anywhere, luckily we had nice neighbors that were staying next door and they gave us a number that was listed inside the rooms of a sister hotel to call in case of an emergency.so we called and the person came in about 30 minutes,to find out that he could't open it and he gave us another room to spend the night, while our things were in the other room.Later we found out that we were not the only ones that had that problem. Also the noise level in the morning is very high with cars living and the maids walking and pushing carts in front of the rooms.Good luck

Trip Type: Family Review 12 of 44Definitely Not a Resort
This is not a resort. It is an upgraded motel. If you are a light sleeper don't stay here. There is a lot of surrounding noise (highway, people walking by, etc).

Trip Type: Special Event Review 13 of 44Slow check-in
This hotel has a very long check-in process and they require you to fill out and sign several different forms. It greatly slows the arrival/check-in process, especially if several guests are arriving at the same time.
