Trip Type: Family Review 2 of 39Very good for price
Nice area, clean, modern, good service. I was expecting completely different given the rate. Pay attention as they have special rates for certain periods.

Trip Type: Family Review 3 of 39Good rooms and location
The hotel is very centrally located with good bus connection around the corner. It is also easy to take walks to Hyde Park and beyond. The disadvantage was that they only had a breakfast buffet and no menu a la cart. The price of the buffet might be good but for people who do not eat that much is was expensive.

Trip Type: Romance Review 4 of 39Lovely, Unique, Convenient Hotel
I booked at the Cumberland (Marble Arch location) for the convenience and because it looked like a nice place at a reasonable rate. The convenience paid off as we were tired upon arriving in London. When walking into the lobby it was clear this was a unique hotel. It had a modern feel. They gave us a complimentary upgrade without asking, which was wonderful as we were on our last night of our honeymoon (I don't think they knew that though). The room was amazing and had no resemblance of those small, antiquated rooms you expect when in a high rent district like central London. Great experience. Would definitely stay here again.

I have stayed here a few times. It is a great hotel, well located for either vacation or business.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 6 of 39Great Hotel, Great location
We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The staff was extremely helpful. The only complaints were the lack of storage space in the room. Also it cost $10 per minute to call to the US so I do not recommend using the phone while you are there.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 8 of 39Service needs help
Overall the hotel is in a great area, central location, close to the underground and the central line. However, the decor, while trendy, is really uninviting. The lobby is cold and the bathrooms, while very hip looking, are hard to use. Service, especially housekeeping needs a lot of help. They kept taking our ice bucket away, and when we requested another one, looked at us like they didn't understand. They never understand as well two people need two sets of towels, not just two pieces. We also had a problem with their internet. We bought it one day at a lower price, and by check out, they raised the prices, and charged us the higher rate, and it took forever with the manager to sort out. But for a cheap price, its in a great location, close to shopping and Oxford Street.

Trip Type: Family Review 9 of 39Good Hotel, Very Cold Lobby
Good Hotel, only complaints being 1. Lobby very cold 2. Very inflexible with check in time which was made even more uncomfortable by the "freezing" lobby

Trip Type: Family Review 10 of 39Great decor, nice location 4 or 5
Booked 2 doubles. Both were very nicely furnished. One had a stunning view of the Marble Arch, so close I could of hit it with a coin. The other had broken heating and not so nice view but very big. Hotel is right on Oxford St. Lots of shopping and resturants minutes away. (Start exploring around Oxford Circus for some great places to eat.) Train stop is literally 20 steps from the door. Overall very satisfied. One word of advice: Bring your own clock because there is not 1 clock anywhere in this place. According the the front desk "Clocks are against their phylosophy". GO figure.

The only thing I did not like was the bathroom. A bit too modern. Sink was too far away from the mirror and had bad lighting so doing things like shaving-for me and applying makeup-for my wife, were not easily accomplished. Also the shower contains no ledges to store product or toiletries. You put your soap in a 3" diameter cupped dish attached to a rail in mid air. Not so terrible but for the fact that a drain hole would prevent the soap from melting in the water. No other complaints otherwise.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 15 of 39Great Hotel
We paid about half the cost using hotels.com so the price was well worth it. Very clean and modern hotel in a good shopping district but not near a lot of pubs. They did try to put us in a room with 2 double beds but we brought our printout from booking that stated we booked a king bed and they fixed it right there so make sure to bring that. Rooms were a little smaller than what most people from the US are used to but just know that going in as that is mostly how Europe is. Staff was friendly and concierge very helpful with tours and dinner ideas. Would definitely stay here again but probably would try a new area next time.
