Trip Type: Business Review 1 of 40Hidden Fees and Costly Extras
Went to Palm Springs on business and a colleague recommended Hotel Zoso. I was surprised by the hefty valet fee, and likewise the fact that I was not allowed to park in the empty parking garage if I did not pay the fee. Instead, I had to park on the street. I was also charged a large flat fee for convenience, ie, room service. I had no intention of ordering room service and expressed that, but they charged me anyway then removed the charge when I checked out. The elevator requires you to insert your room key before you can access rooms above the first floor. The woman at the check-in desk did not tell me that, so I spent about five minutes in the closed elevator before I figured it out. The room was decent, but there had obviously been a wall-mounted TV that had been torn out and a very small television substituted in its place. In fact, I had to plug in the TV. The rooms do not include a coffee maker or refrigerator, but do include a room-service menu. It seems pretty obvious that Hotel Zoso does not want you to have food in your room unless you've ordered it from their lobby restaurant. All in all, this was a very disappointing hotel.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 4 of 40Lax and arbitrary enforcement of rules reall diminished this hotel's overall quality
The staff is nice at this hotel and the rooms are really good quality. Clean and free Internet! The pool is atrocious. When you first see it, you think, "is this a prison yard?" Where are the palm trees or at least umbrellas or landscapting? I think I could have overlooked that, but they allowed a lot of very rowdy people into the pool area from surrounding hotels for parties. Smoking in the pool and loud parties all night all around the property (including the pool really ruined the stay. Zoso was a quality hotel, but they seem to have sold out for ANYONE who can pay the rate to stay there (it was on the mid-range side the weekend I stayed there). The people who stayed there could not respect the rules and it made it feel like a chaotic free for all sadly.

Trip Type: Romance Review 5 of 40Hotel "So-So
Upon arrival, the outside of the hotel promises great things. Very trendy look to the building and the valet was super friendly.Everything is new and clean. The bar and restaraunt seem very upscale. The room is nice and the furnishing are very modern. Too bad looks arent everything. The maid service was poor, with moderate work done and no restocking of consumbles. The pools area is a very weak link. With no beach around, seeing as Palm Springs is in the desert, the pool is an important part to completing an oasis. The chairs and umbrellas are faded and ragged. The pool itself is TINY. And i do mean tiny. At peak use the crowding was horrible. It was like sharing bath water. Not good. I am going to cut short and not even go into detail on the billing issues had despite having paid in advance. Overall not the worst experience ever , but no where worth 200 a night.

I have to say that when we first arrived we were pleasantly impressed with the hotel and its ammenities. The attitude of the most of the staff was terrible!! Very rude!

Trip Type: Romance Review 8 of 40Disappointing
The hotel is trendy chic and the decor is nice. But the bed is low and lumpy and sure to give you a sore neck. The pool was very dirty - no filter. The poolside bar was closed...apparently they only open Fri-Sun. During the week you will starve and die of thirst. The whole place was incredibly boring and bland, but it is right in the middle of town and near the casino. For the price, there are a lot of other fun hotels.

Trip Type: Family Review 9 of 40Thin walls made it impossible to sleep.
My biggest complaint is that I stayed up all night because I could literally hear the couple next door moaning during sex and they had love music on that went on for hours. I've been in hotels where you sleep like a baby even because the outside noise doesn't get inside the room. I am very upset as the lack of sleep ruined the quality of my "relaxing" vacation.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 10 of 40Nice Room. Bad Service for the High Price
Very upscale hotel with nice newly renovated room. When we arrived and the bell man took our bags and we checked into the room. We called Ellen at the front desk to have our bags brought up so we could make our New Years Eve dinner reservation. Three calls later and an hour and 15 minutes and the bellman finally brought our bags. The bellman stated Ellen had never given him any messages. Then we tried to get something for our time and didnt get anything. So other than the dishonest front desk clerk, the rooms were nice and you could walk downtown.

Trip Type: Romance Review 11 of 40Great Hotel, but very overpriced
The rooms are very nice and comfortable, location is amazing, but based on it's price I thought the service would be much better. We arrived there past the standard check-in time (3pm) yet our room still wasn't ready, so we had to go buy a drink in the hotel bar, which was also super overpriced. Then we finally got our room keys and went up to the room but the keys didn't work. They woman at the front desk didn't seem to care too much and wasn't apologetic at all. Overall it is a nice hotel, but I would expect the service to be much better for a 4-star hotel, especially for the inflated price.

Trip Type: Romance Review 15 of 40Blah
Most if not all of the complaints I read on yelp came true. First they gave us the wrong room. We got a king and we walked into a room with 2 double beds. We called the front desk and luckily they had a king open. I have a feeling if they didn't they would of offered us nothing for they mistake they made. The staff was anything but friendly. They over charged us for our room service and when I brought it to their attention they didn't even offer to refund us the difference. The pool is extremely small. Also they have live entertainment in the lobby which I guess is nice but we didn't attend. But we arrived somewhat later in the day and when I went to check in I had to scream in order to speak with the front desk staff because the band was playing right behind me. As for pros, the room is very large and we had a nice furnished balcony, the pool area had plenty of seating and the location is good.
