Trip Type: With Friends Review 1 of 25Needs Improvement
The rooms were very small in comparison to hotels I've stayed at in the past. Beds and pillows were not comfortable, hallways had many cracks & holes on the ceilings and walls. Overall the hotel needs many updates and is way too expensive for the lack of comfort it offers.

Trip Type: Business Review 3 of 25Not What I Expected
The hotel room was not comfortable, in fact, it was depressing. Everything about it was one step away from a glorified hostel, way too expensive for what you get. I was on the 9th floor. Other rooms on the 23 floor where friends were staying was a bit nicer with better beds and comforters and bigger tv's. The overall layout of the hotel is confusing and inconvenient when traveling with a group of people staying in different areas of the hotel. The floors are grouped by color so you have to take a specific elevator to get to your floor, but then back to the lobby and walk over to another elevator to take that to another section of the hotel to get to other floors. The hallways were a labryinth and had poor signage. I would suggest staying elsewhere or make sure you get the upgraded room.

The Delta Chelsea was in a great location, convenient to all parts of Toronto; however, we were disappointed in the poor condition of our room (dinghy carpet, musty smell, creaky mattress with bad springs). The "Family Fun Zone" and pool was a large factor in our choice to stay here, and we were surprised at how small the pool was. I was impressed with the lifeguard, however. She took her job seriously and was a good authority figure when some parents were not as attentive to their children's behavior. The "adults only" pool, gym, and deck on the 27th floor was beautiful, however, and the upper floor rooms seemed nicer (again, adults only). It looked like they had renovated or recently built the upper floors and lobby, but they need to work on the lower floors too, especially when they are billing themselves as a "family-friendly" hotel. The variety of restaurant options (bistro, brasserie, and a la carte "Marketplace") was good. Also, we were awakened at 8am by housekeeping staff doing a "room check", which I thought was odd. All in all, I do not plan to return there. Regardless of its positive features, there have got to be better hotels in Toronto for the price we paid.

Trip Type: Family Review 6 of 25Horrible hotel
I chose this hotel because some reviews stated it is a good hotel for a family. It was horrible. There were only 2 good things about this hotel: It has a nice size pool with slide that was always full and it has a nice restraunt BB33 Bistro where they serve amaizing food. The rest was absolutely horrible. We stayed there 2 nights booking 2 rooms. After 1 st night my dad went to the bathroom and when he flashed toilet it suddenly explode on him. It took a while to explain it to hotel staff when happened and involved a lot effort. Finally my dad got the room changed and hotel staff offered us free breakfast next morning. Later, in the afternoon my husband went to the bathroom and could not open the door back into the room because door got stuck. Luckily, he had his cell phone with himj, so he called my dad and ask him to call maintenance. My dad explained situation to the hotel staff and after a few minutes went to our room to check if my husband is OK. Surprisingly he found a hotel employee standing outside of the room, knocking at the door and yelling "This is service please open the door". My dad explained him again that person got stuck inside bathroom, he is unable to open room door. Finally, after 3 minutes of explanations, Maintenance person opened the room door with universal key and start knocking to the bathroom door yelling the same message. My dad explained it again. The reaction of service personnel was very impolite because he asked if my husband is crazy locking himself up in the bathroom. Finally maintenance people opened the door and released my husband. I think from all this experience that sometime before hotel was nice, but it degraded. Rooms are not maintained, so that's why all this happens

pleasant staff and good location, smallish but comfortable room, but there were noisy teens in the room next door and my non-smoking room had a strong stench of tobacco.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 8 of 25Average Room for the money
This hotel is only good for its location. I guess that's what you are paying for. We had a premium room and it was very small and nothing special. I don't know what was "premium" about it and would've gotten a regular room if I had seen it beforehand. Bed was very comfortable. Did not use the pool or other amenities so don't know about that. Parking garage is very confusing and parking costs an additional $30 a day, which seemed like a lot. Especially after we were in the lot and had been charged the $30 and were told that if we took the car out we probably wouldn't get it back in because they fill up. For the price it was just ok. If I went back I would stay somewhere else.

Trip Type: Family Review 9 of 25Nice rooms and location - hidden prices
We liked the hotel in general and the location was great. The four story slide was a blast and the activities they had for kids was great too. The only thing I didn't like was the amount of extra charges we didn't know about until we got there or checked out. We were charged $26 a day for parking (not included in the room rate) and we went on the internet in our rooms, not knowing because we didn't read everything, and had charges for $11.95 A DAY for using it all of 30 minutes total. They would not take it off our bill. I've never been in a hotel that charges for internet. over all I enjoyed the stay, but wish I knew about the extra $75 prior to booking...if you have kids 6-16 years old get this hotel!

Trip Type: Rest and Recreation Review 10 of 25Not worth the money!
First of all let me start off by saying that I would rather stayed at a motel than stay at the Delta Chelsea. They made me feel unwelcome, pools were never cleaned, employees saying to eat at other places, parking was $10-15 more per day than anyother parking garage, room service was a complete waste, charged $14 for a very small bowl of soup, balcony looked like it was about to give, location is not even close to entertainment, unethically posted discounts when you showed your room key to the Hockey Hall of Fame and the CN Tower, check out never worked on the television and had to go downstairs, early 11am check out time, non-smoking room had smoke in it, dirty sheets, pool slide was only open on weekends, and there was suppose to be free continental brekfast.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 11 of 25Crappy Hotel... I expected much better for the price
I researched for one of the better hotels in Toronto, and one close to the "downtown" area. Given the price of this hotel, I really expected something better than what I got, and I'm not hard to please. For starters, when I arrived, they said what I booked and paid for was not available, but they could give me a room in another tower (presumably the older tower). It would be 2 double beds, not a King. That was essentially my only choice, or I could wait a couple hours to see what was available after more checkouts. (I wasn't early.) So I took what they offered, and once in the room, was not happy. Not much area to walk around in the room with the beds taking up most of the space. So I decided to take my luggage back down and *demand* better. Now I get a different person at the counter (there were 3 or 4 counter staff), and they miraculously find me the type of room I had booked and paid for. Oh joy! And in supposedly one of the renovated towers. So now I go up to this room, and yes, it's a better room, with a King or Queen bed. The overall look of the room was that of a slightly run down hotel, with the wallpaper coming away from the wall at some seams, the bathroom old and in need of upgrading. I paid some serious money for this room, but I guess I'm not allowed to say how much in this review. But whatever, I wasn't intending on hanging out in the room, just sleeping there. That night, I turned on the heat (this was last September), as it was easily in the low 60s in the room. After a few minutes of cold air blowing, I called downstairs. The heat isn't working, I tell the front desk. What do they say? "Oh, we don't turn the heat on till November." What??? Major dollars for a room and they don't turn the heat on till it's snowing outside? Okay. They offer to bring up a space heater for me, which they do. One of the lamps isn't working either, so I ask for them to replace or fix it (the one by the stand-alone chair near the balcony). They can't fix it so they ex

I recently stayed at the Delta Chelsea. The room was very old and dingy looking, could definitely use some remodeling! Our floor was extrememly noisy in the morning. We must have been near a linen or janitorial closet. The door opened and slammed shut every 5 minutes. The housekeeping staff was very loud in the morning. My guest and I barely got any sleep, and we had a long drive ahead of us. The hotel was good about giving us a late check out, and the hotel was very conveniently located.

Dated and Dirty. A 1.5 star hotel at best. Staff was nice - but could not make up for small dirty rooms and attrocious bathrooms.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 14 of 25Not what I have expected
The room was small and dirty. The heating did not work (in October!) and I had to sleep with my clothes on. Lots of noises on the floor in the early morning, and you can hear them all. Bathroom is tiny. The TV is the smallest and the picture quality is mediocre. For such a hefty price tag, one can find a considerably better place to stay. The good things about this hotel is the location and the huge water slide for children. The downstairs buffet, which they call Market Place, is heavily overpriced, and the selection of food is rather poor. I often come to Toronto, but this was by far the worst place I ever stayed in, mainly because the room was freezing and not clean.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 15 of 25Stay somewhere else in Toronto!
Hotel is outdated. Small rooms even after taking the $20 upgrade. Climate control was not functioning. $23 for parking. Incovenient parking garage to room. Have to walk baggage too far and up two different elevators. Was never offered help with baggage. Hotel is not anywhere near the decent restaurants. Further downtown would be a better choice to stay. The inside the hotel market/restaurant offered very poor quality food. School cafeteria style. Awful place to stay for a Hotel that purports to be "High End". I completely regret staying at Delta Chelsea with my two kids.
