The Nastiest Rooms

I'm hoping that this review reaches the hotel managers! The Showboat's room I'll rate it as -3. I reserved 2 rooms @ the Showboat for my son & his fiancee' his room was fine until they pulled back the sheets & found blood & someone burnt cigarette butts all over them. When we contacted the hotel supervisor he came right up w/an attitude to follow! The supervisor told us that he'll knock of 30 dollars off of the bill, to our surprise when it was time to check out nothing was done, it wasn't mentioned @ all. So I don't recommend the showboat for a comfortable or clean room to stay in for a little bit extra, stay @ Trump!

Very Noisey

Must have paper thin walls and floors. Could hear people talking in the next room and hear the TV playing ti 3 am. This is also one of the few hotels in Atlantic City without an indoor pool.

Gross

Hotel was dirty. Checked into our room and there was urine in the toilet and garbage in the garbage can. Check out time was at 12 and they refused to extend us another hour. Waiting 1 hour and 10 minutes for dinner/room service. Really crappy hotel and seriously felt like asking for my money back.

Needs a lot Improvement

Room was not clean. Hardwares are all old.

Recommended for the AARP crowd

The decor was ok but well maintained. The armoire was slightly damaged. The walls are thin. There was a 25 year difference in age between me and the other guests.

Showboat

The Showboat Casino did not seem very customer oriented, during check in they were very abrupt answering a few basic questions, did not have all the condiments in the bathroom and would not hold our bags after checkout so we could get some breakfest. Valet took forever gettring our car. I would spend the extra 25 or 30 dollars next time and stay at one of the newer casinos.

Mixed Review

We stayed in a special HOB suite which was a spectacular and unusual layout. However, we found that the room was really not very livable. There was nowhere in the room except on the bed with sufficient light to read. There was a very nice entertainment center but it dominated everything. There was no window to the outside which was disconcerting. There was no in room coffee pot. On the second day we left our room at 10:30 taking down the privacy sign and returned at 4:30 to find the room had not been made up. I was told they were changing shifts and could not send anyone up until after 5. When I called again at 5:30 they did send a pleasant maid who did a good job. We did not realize that the Showboat was so far at one end of the Boardwalk that other attractions were far away.

Needs improvement

The king size bed had only 3 small pillows and no fitted sheet and no bed spread. Other than that the stay was enjoyable. The location is great right on the boardwalk within easy walking to other casinos and resturants.

Needs Improvement

Waited in line for 30 minutes to check in (few people working the counter). At check in, I was told they only had one available room ready. I found out it was a smoking room (I am a non-smoker). I took the room, but the stench made me sick. The room itself was not impressive considering the price.

Understaffed

The hotel was extremely crowded and there was not enough staff to keep things running smoothly. A beer bottle sat in an elevator for 2 1/2 days, dirty room service trays sat in the hall for many hours, that sort of thing. Breakfast at the Mansion Cafe was trying - between a long wait for a table and not the friendliest of service. We did have a very good dinner at the Italian restaurant (Casa Napoli)with excellent service. The outdoor pool was too small for that size of a hotel.

Food, less than mediocre.resturant selection was lacking,prices were high for what you got. They over do their GOLD CARD. Went to the cage to cash in my chips, stood in line for twenty min. Got near the cage and saw four open window marked GOLD CARD Member only. Not one person was in line there. Went to the bar for a drink,bar tender asked for my gold card. Said didn't have one, how do you get one? Guy at the bar said you don't get one, you have to spend $1000.00 a year. I replyed that I would qualify after a day. THEY TEND TO MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE A SECOLND CLASS CITIZEN.

Not Worth Price

I love the Showboat Casino, and hotel, however, the room, the service, the food, was not up to par. I ordered room service and the food was terrible, extremely burnt bacon looked like it had been on the grill for weeks. Worst room service I have ever had. We requested 3 smoking rooms, and then were told they had none available. The safe as well as the hotel information book was missing from our room. Of the three rooms, we were told 2 were the requested king size beds, we were shocked when we went up to our rooms and there was only one king size room. We definately overpayed and got nothing out of it. Not even a coupon book! PS the food in the hard rock cafe downstairs was also horrible!!!
