Trip Type: Romance Review 1 of 4Nice place but hiccups prevented us from enjoying our stay
The bad: 1) TV remote did not work, and despite having a repairman in and out of our room for an hour one morning it could not be fixed 2) Despite being a non-smoking hotel, woke up at 4am to the intense smell of smoke from the people in our conjoining room. 3) Fees, fees, fees! $30 to park, $15 for internet, $3 for additional "complimentary" coffee in the room. They will nickel and dime you to death! 4) When went to check out, had a phone call we did not make on the bill, and they tried to charge us for 2 internet connections. Glad I looked at it before I signed it! The good: 1) Great location 2) Staff was very friendly and accommodating when we told them about our problems 3) Awesome pool & hot tub 4) Amazing sunday brunch buffet

Trip Type: With Friends Review 3 of 4Very overrated hotel
I can't figure out why this hotel is rated 5-Diamonds by AAA. It definitely doesn't deserve the rating, and I wouldn't be surprised to see AAA change it soon. I had one of the most uncomfortable beds I've ever had at a hotel, with a thin layer of cloth covering hard springs. I complained and the housekeeping staff installed an "egg-crate" style piece of foam in the middle of the bed -- this improved the comfort, but it was an exceptionally tacky way to do it. Each bed had only one pillow, which collapsed too easily and provided no support. The foam they installed didn't dissipate any heat and I never got any decent sleep. The room itself faced south, and although I was on the 16th floor, the noise from the traffic below along Burrard street was very high. Parking was a ridiculous $28/day, and internet access was extra at $15/day. I can't remember the last hotel that actually charged me for internet! The TV system was horrible -- with no TV guide channel to let you know what was on. One of the most cumbersome mediated systems I've seen. The pool, which I didn't want to use anyway, is accessible only by descending into the depths of the dark and grimy parking garage via the noisy, smelly elevator (which broke on my last day) and walking across to the other side of the garage to another door. I've seen better facilities at many 2-star hotels. There is no way I would ever stay at this hotel again, and I would never recommend it to anyone.
