"Needs Work"

The elevators were horrible. Buttons didn't work and you would get stuck in them frequently. Hotel is located in a seedy part of town. Wouldn't be so bad except there were homeless people constantly begging right outside the front doors. Didn't feel safe outside of hotel at all! Rooms were comfortable and clean.

Not worth the money

If you need somewhere to stay in downtown Cleveland, look somewhere else. This place is not what a Hilton should look like. The staff was very nice, but the room is just lame for the money. Nothing better than what you'd get at a cheaper hotel really; small, no great amenities, no continental breakfast, parking is extra. There are better options in the Cleveland downtown area.

Bad Experience

The staff at the hotel was so unfriendly. I was out exploring the town and called the hotel to ask about food in the area and the lady at the front desk put me on hold for 15 minutes before i hung up and called back. Then the same staff member answered the phone very rude and told me she was busy i had to wait. Im sorry i was lost in a strange town and all i did was ask for help locating dinning. Then the room was not clean at all the night table beside the bed had crumbs on it as well did the side chair. The shower then had hair on the drain. I was not happy at all with the hotel and wont be staying there again

Needs Improvement-- Very Dissapointed

Lines were long at check in but that was understandable. The front desk staff were polite. First thing we were told our reservation for a non-smoking room was changed and we had to stay on the smoking floor. We were also told our room would be ready in one hour so we took a stroll and found a restaurant had our dinner came back 90 minutes later and the room was not ready. Once we got into our room the smell of cigarettes was awful. They gave us an ozone machine to help clean the air and instructed us to leave it on for 1 hour. About 15 minutes later someone knocked on our door and asked us for the machine because another room needed it. So we weren't the only guests this happened to. Both woke up the next day with headaches. Went downstairs for Breakfast waited in line for 20 minutes to be seated. Again they were busy so we understood. Once we were seated we waited for 15 minutes and no one came to our table to welcome us, offer a menu, a cup of coffee NOTHING! The guy sitting next to me pointed to paper cups next to a coffee pot and said he helped himself!! We left the restuarant, got our bags, checked out and drove down the street for our breakfast. First time at a Hilton for us will be the last time! No value for the money we spent on the room.

Terrible time at Hilton Garden Inn - Cleveland

My husband and I went to Cleveland for a concert and a nice weekend getaway. With the exception of a great concert and great company our stay was terrible. There were guests of the hotel that were up for a good part of the evening outside the front door close to where our room was located. They were shouting and speaking loud well into the early morning. When I finally called down to ask that they do something I was told they were trying and I was not the first guest to complain. The noise then came inside to the room across the hall from us and continued. Management finally took action at 4am asking them to leave which is when we finally were able to get some sleep!! In the morning I needed to speak to the front desk about something and let the woman behind the desk know of our terrible evening. She said that she was aware and had 2 pages of complaints and notes from the night staff. There was no apology and no level of concern at that time or later when we checked out. The hotel staff clearly does not know how to handle uncomfortable situations or maintain the satisfaction of their guests. The people that spent the night disturbing everyone else should have been asked to leave well before the $am hour they were. The management clearly could not get them under control or get a handle on the situation. The management's lack of concern for the other guests comfort and the complete disregard for how we enjoyed our stay and not inquiring the next morning fearful of our response is why I would never stay at this hotel again. It was definitely not worth it. Good thing it was a god concert!

are you kidding me?

this was the most unsatisfactory stay at any hotel thus far, not only did i pay a ridiculous amount of money for my tiny room, but our shower didnt work, i was under the impression that we were to recieve a free continential breakfest with out stay, and were charged $40 for it, we had to pay $16 to park at the hotel we stayed at... overall a complete ripoff, discourtious staff (at least that i encountered) and far too many additional charges on top of an entirely too high room rate..

average "discount" lodging

overnight stay prior to early morning appointment at the Cleveland Clinic. The hotel is not as convenient as the 3.2 mile distance would indicate. the hotel is located on "carnegie", a major arterial, that is a traffic nightmare during rush hour. Hotel Parking is additional charge and expensive. The bathroom is at best ok. The tub/shower seemed outdated and the "hot" water was only lukewarm. The TV did not function properly and almost all hotel services i.e. roomservice etc. ceased at 10 pm. in all fairness i did not see "workout" facility and did not eat in the onsite restaurant. The bed was quite comfortable. Overall only average accomodations not "horrible" and not really "enjoyable" therefore rating of 3

Needs to work on customer service

We arrived, checked-in, and received room keys. When we tried to get into our room, there was another guest staying in it even though our room was reserved for us and marked available in the computer system. It took the desk clerk nearly an hour to find us an available room, and this was from 2:00am-3:00am (we arrived pretty late). She finally found us a room but seemed more concerned with finding out who was in our room rather than finding an available one for us. The next morning, a guy came knocking on our door claiming that our room was his room and we told him we had the same problem the night before. I think the reservation system at this hotel needs to be fixed because it was ridiculous for us to be waiting an hour to find us a room.

Overall okay, but I had some concerns

Overall, my group and I were satisified with our stay at this hotel, however, we were disappointed with the $15 parking fee we were surprised with. I can understand if it's general parking, but I would have been less upset by this if it had been mentioned before. Also, take note that the hotel staff at times spoke too fast to understand what they were trying to say and seemed agitated when I had to ask them to repeat what they had said, and also seemed annoyed when I asked if they offered a free breakfast (they don't, by the way, as it is $10 per person for that). Overall, it was nice and clean, but I am not sure I would stay here again.
