Trip Type: Business Review 1 of 17Excellent Location, but...
First Kimpton hotel that I found to be below expectation. Too many pieces of furniture for a very tiny space. The Airconditioning unit was very loud when it came on or went off. Some of the lights in the room did not work. The internet connection was very poor, unreliable and intermittent. Worst of all, hotel staff gave me a wake up call that was not requested and through off my entire day's schedule. Same thing happened to my colleague in the next room. Checkout took 20 minutes even though I had zero balance.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 2 of 17Service was not as expected
I had requested a wine/cheese plate upon arrival (as they advertise), that didn't happen. The manager apologized and eventually brought up a fruit tray and some beer as a substitute, but at that point I just wanted to go to sleep. The room was noisy, the adjoining room had kids and a dog and I could hear them through the connecting door. Guests with kids and/or dogs should not be booked in rooms with connecting doors unless they are part of the same party. On the other hand, the concierge was very well prepared with information about sites to visit, how to get around, etc...

Trip Type: Romance Review 4 of 17Terrible service by staff. Beware.
I have stayed at several Kimpton Hotels and this is the worst customer service I have every received not only at a Kimpton Hotel but any hotel I have ever stayed at. First, when first walked into the hotel with three bags no one helped me with the front door of the hotel or no one helped me with my bags. Even after checking in at the front desk and getting my room key no one helped me with my bags or my girlfriend's bags. The worst part of this was that there were several staff people in the lobby, but again no one attempted to help us with our bags. I ordered room service twice and the snacks took well over an hour to arrive both times. The worst papar of the whole experience was on the last morning of my stay I called and requested a late check out b/c my girlfriend was extremely sick and then some addition time to recover and I was rudely told that they would not extend my stay and if I did not check out by noon that I would be charged for a half day immediately. I will never stay at the hotel again.

Trip Type: Business Review 7 of 17Great decor, location, don't order room service
I stayed for a weekend- the room was large and comfortable; the wireless internet worked; the bathroom was large and clean. My only complaint is, room service took a half hour to arrive. The on-duty manager was very nice and comped my meal. The food itself was average, a little greasy. The hotel restaurant did a little better; the server was somehat forgetful of requests but eventually got around to bringing what I asked for. The front desk staff and the concierge, and doormen were all friendly and helpful.

Trip Type: Business Review 8 of 17Nice room, service needs work
Hotel is in a really ideal neighborhood for dining, and walking. Room was very nice, well sized and decorated. The room was a good value. Service? That was a problem. Room service was terrible, food regularly took 1-2 hours to receive, we tried four times and never received what was ordered. Often times the re order would take longer than the first delivery. Tried to have a valentines dinner in room, and it was a disaster, never got the dessert and coffee. Even a Pizza order got delivered to the wrong room. Menu is limited, and we were told more than once by the server that the "chef was cranky and not able to make anything different than off the menu." (we had asked for a scoop of ice cream to accomodate a gluten intolerant visitor). For this hotel pet friendly is understatement. Sharing a tiny elevator with two Great danes, and having a yapping lap dog next door were common experiences during our week stay. Also, we had two parties that needed to use the desk, but when we asked for a second chair so both of us could work at the same time, they would only provide a metal banquet chair, hardly suitable for working at the desk for a few hours. If you are looking for dupont circle, not going to be in the room much, and don't mind lots of dogs, this is probably a great choice. If any of the above were not true, probably should look elsewhere.

Was not happy that they put me in the corner, darkest, one small window, handicapped room. I was in such a hurry I didn't want to deal with calling front desk, etc. Room dark and poorly lite. Hotel has a nice bar and restaurent but only offers coffee for breakfast, local places around aren't great to go to.

The hotel lobby is inhospitable, designed not to encourage relaxation, but as an exit and entry point. The hallways are dark, not at all helped by the dark and unsightly carpet. My room had a slightly uncomfortable smell, a combination of pet and cigarette smoke. I would not stay in this hotel again.

Amenities were fair. Did leave some to be desired for a 4 star hotel. Parking is a definite problem - had to wait over 45 minutes to get our vehicle.

The staff at the desk was rude-including the hotel manager! The ancillary staff members were efficient and professional. I would not recommend this hotel to a friend based on this stay.

Got room for a decent price, that was nice. Had probems with sink drain and employees had to come in the room 2 times to fix it--while we were there. Molding missing in bathroom and front desk staff not always the best at accomidating unhappy customers. It seemed as if we were not the only ones having some type of difficulty with a room, billing, room service, etc. If you are not expecting much, then stay at this hotel, otherwise I would stick to the "name-brand" places.

My stay at this hotel was not very good. Our room overlooked the back entrance and garbage containers. There was only a king size bed in the room. Therefore, my two boys had no place to sleep. I had to call for two roll away beds. One bed was brought to us, but I had to request a second one. When the bellhop brought us to our room, there was a big industrial fan drying the rug. He would not remove it because it was maintenance's job. He said he would notify that department. It took them two days to take it away. The bathroom door was broken when we arrived. I reported it to the front desk. It took one day for someone to fix this heavy, wooden sliding door. When they did try to fix it, it still did not work properly. I was not happy with my room at all. The only good thing about the hotel was the staff. They were very friendly and helpful. This hotel had been renovated a few months earlier, but they were not ready to handle a full capacity of guests.
