Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 2 of 682Awesome Location
Great area, not far walk to bourbon street. Bath room was a little dirty but overall not a bad place to crash. Valet parking was easy and very prompt.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 3 of 682nice for the price
an ok hotel. very close to bourbon st. when i went there was construction going on by the front door which was in front of a pretty run down and narrow street. the worst part of the room was that it was small and the mattress wasnt very comfortable. the nicest part was the bathroom, very updated and large for the room size. overall good hotel if your just looking for a place to sleep.

Trip Type: Romance Review 4 of 682The Right Price
For a one night get away this hotel is perfect. We just needed a place to lay our heads for a few hours between a concert and a shopping trip the next day. The hotel is perfect for the price we paid. If it didnt offer free parking I probably would have found another hotel. Next time under the same circumstances, I would probably still stay at this hotel. The decor is updated yet still worn. The room had a nice look. The decorations are modern yet the condition of the room is sub par. The wallpaper around the window was peeling and there was mold on the bathtub trim. Its a little noisy due to the streetcars. The bed was comfortable and the location is unbeatable. Just a few blocks away from Bourbon and the House of Blues and walking distance to most things in the French Quarter. The staff was friendly and helpful. You are charged an $8 convience fee for the use of internet and the gym. I have come to learn this is getting to be a common charge at most hotels in New Orleans; so just be forwarned. Still the free parking was the deal sealer for this hotel. If you are looking for a hotel to just lay your head or your going to new orleans just to party it up, stay here!!!

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 5 of 682Small but Good
For what we needed the hotel was great. Rooms a little small but they were clean and we had a big window that over looked the street. Easy to get to all the things we wanted to see and the valet parking was great. Called down and car was brought around promptly. Only complaint was the soda machines had out dated product and some of them did not work.

Trip Type: Business Review 6 of 682The Royal St Charles Hotel - FQ-NOLA Near Epicenter.
The Royal St Charles Hotel was a pleasue! On St. Charles, a trolley stop in front, in nice part of the CBD, one block from Canal St. I've stayed in many hotels in the FQ and CBD since Katrina, the Royal St Charles Hotel was an Oasis offering me a clean, comfortable, modern-furnished updated room. King bed, Sofa, Desk, and a view. A great price. A great location. A great property. Very close to the Bourbon street mix, and far enough away to escape the chaos. Kudos RSC!

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 7 of 682Great Value
The extra charge which was small was a suprise upon check in, but took advantage of the continental long distance phone calls. Room a bit small but clean and comfortable, SUPER location and within comfortable walking distance to the French Quarter. I would stay again.

Trip Type: Romance Review 9 of 682Great Location
The hotel was within walking distance to Canal Street, Bourbon Street, and the French Quarter. A street car stop was located on St. Charles street infront of the hotel. Overall the room was nice and the bathroom clean and the bed was wonderful. The only problem I could see is the carpets need to be replaced.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 10 of 682Needs Improvement
We were a later check in, and the service person at the check in counter was rude. The room was extremely small for the price we paid and it didn't even have a window. I suppose it was satisfactory if you just need a place to sleep for a night, but I wouldnt reccommend it otherwise.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 12 of 682nice location
The room was fine. The only complaint was that in their effort to cut down on using so much linen and/or towels, they would not change sheets for 3 days unless requested...which was fine. I would have liked an extra facecloth and some towels for my guest. Also, while not a big deal...would have liked a garbage bin for the bathroom. Other than those minor things...great location and pleasantly quiet-even on a spooktacular weekend (Halloween)!

Trip Type: Romance Review 13 of 682good location
The room had no window, they said the rooms with windows were already booked. bummer, they are in the process of changing out mini-bar. and there was no safe. Lovely room, small bathroom, no safe, and no pool. There was a steep resort fee we had to pay, even though there was no safe and some of the popular fitness equipment was out of order. Limited hot water. And the maid after our first night didnt replace half our towells, or replace the toliet paper, I had to go to the front desk in the middle of the night to get some. It would be worth it to pay 10-20% more for a hotel with nicer ammentites. valet parking was expensive, and there is VERY limited street parking available. Public transportation was everywhere, and local cuisne was great.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 14 of 682Pleasantly Surprised
I booked this Hotel because a friend of mine was staying there. After booking I read the reviews on this site and I was very very concerned that I had made the wrong decision. One review after another complained about the staff, valet , conditions etc. Now my story. My wife and I arrived on Wednesday evening. We had ACDC tickets at the Arena. We arrived at 5pm. Valet for our vehicle was almost immediate. The girl at the desk, D Shana, was pleasant and professional. I even joked about some of the reviews I had read and how things were not what I had expected. For the better. We stayed on the seventh floor. The room was small but clean and neat. I checked with the front desk for a cab to the arena and within 15 minutes we were on our way. Cost of cab was $10.00. After concert took cab to Bourbon Street. Cost again, $10.00. This hotel is very close to Bourbon. I am in my 50's and the walk was nothing. Next morning called valet as they requested 15 minutes before checking out. Arrived at the front desk and yes there was that $7.00 something fee. I was told on check in that because we booked through Hotels.com the valet would be free. Guess what...it was. My SUV was waiting out front when we arrived at the desk. The keys were at the desk for me. I had a tip for the driver and he had already left to pick up another vehicle. We spent all day in the French Quarter before driving home. A Great experience. My wife and I are already talking about going back before Christmas. We will stay at the Royal St. Charles. My name is Glen and I work for a Casino in Biloxi, MS and have no affiliation with this hotel or any employee.

Trip Type: Romance Review 15 of 682Great room for the money
We were very satified with our room and the hotel. It was great for the price we paid, the location was perfect-we were only 1 blk from Burboun and comfortable walking distance from the French Quarter! The room was a little small, but was perfect for the two of us since all we did was sleep in the room.
