Trip Type: Business Review 1 of 90Better options in SF
I reserved and paid for a King bed room. When I arrived, I asked the gal at the front counter if they had enough rooms to upgrade me to a higher floor. She didn't even pretend to check the computer and told me "no." When I got to my room it had a Queen bed. I called down and she told me it'd be an hour before they could get a King room ready. At that point I was planning on being out for the night and didn't want a bell-hop moving my stuff for me without my being there (laptop, etc.), so I blew it off. I asked the valet attendant how busy they were and he told he "dead." I figured, and when I got back that night I let the girl know behind the counter (in front of her manager) that I was NOT pleased. The manager offered to upgrade my room, but I told them it was too late at that point. The net-net is that the rooms are OK, the hotel is OK, but there are better hotels in the city where the hotel crew will bend over to make you happy right now (the economy being what it is). This Westin won't be getting my business again.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 2 of 90Ok if you get a deal
Just needed a convenient room for a night in San Francisco. We were getting in late and flying out early, so didn't feel any need to splurge. Checking into the hotel was chaotic and getting our bags to our room was a debacle. The room itself was tiny. There was barely room to walk around the bed, there was nowhere to sit and there was nowhere besides the floor to put our luggage. The bathroom was also tiny had had an annoying energy-efficient light bulb that took a couple of minutes to actually fully illuminate. The location was decent and the place is probably ok if you're in town for business in the financial district. I don't recommend it for any extended stays.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 3 of 90Not what I expected
I should first say that the valet man was very friendly and helpful by suggesting a cheaper place to park that cost us half of what they charged and it was in the same parking structure behind the hotel. The room was not very clean though. There was someones used wash cloth left in our shower and hair shavings left on the shower curtain....it was gross. Over all I wasn't impressed with the amount of money we paid.

Trip Type: Business Review 5 of 90Too Many Kids
I stayed here for a week on business. The rooms was beautiful, I loved the views and service was impeccable. My only complaint is that they appeared to be hosting a high school summer camp of some sort there, so all of the elevators were constantly full and overloaded and there were crowds of kids everywhere in the common areas. This is not something that I should have to experience while staying at a four-star property on business. If a hotel caters to business clientele, it should not be hosting children's summer camps during the week.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 6 of 90Lousy Housekeeping Service, the rest just fine.
My room did not get cleaned the first 2 days that I was there. In spite of the fact that I was out of it long enough each day for that to have occurred. The TV was way across the room from the bed, so one had to have the volume up rather loud to view TV from bed. Other hotel staff was friendly and helpful including Room Service, Valet parking guys, bell man etc.

Trip Type: Romance Review 7 of 90Perfume in the lobby? Really?
We had the unfortunate timing to get there right after another party who had some problem with their credit card- which the man at the front desk was being completely atrocious about, even though (from what I could tell) it was mostly the hotel's fault. He didn't call another person to help him until there were about three other parties behind us, so we were stuck in the lobby for close to twenty minutes, and could. not. breathe. the whole time. According to the television, it's supposed to be "embracing your senses" with "relaxing sights, sounds, and even smells". It smelled as though a Perfumania exploded. I can't imagine what someone with asthma or allergies more severe than mine would do. The room was great, very narrow and cubicle-like, but still spacious and pretty luxurious. The bed is divine. Just make sure you don't touch the tray of goodies on top of the counter- they tuck the card away behind the tray so you have to look for it, but it's an "automated" tray (and mini-fridge), so if you breathe on something wrong you'll get charged for it. And definitely plan on eating elsewhere- there's some really great restaurants within walking distance, and honestly, you're not gonna get me to pay $17 for a stack of pancakes from room service (that's it, just pancakes- nothing with them). A couple of other ways we saved a boatload of money: Parking- there's street parking, if you look for it. We parked on Jessie Street, maybe a block away from the hotel, in a zone that appears to be a no-parking zone to anyone who doesn't know what to look for. The signs in SF that say "No Parking" usually have a day and time underneath that tell you when you can't park there, and any other time is fair game. Also, internet- if you have a wireless card, there are a handful of unsecured networks in the neighborhood that you can access for free- instead of paying the $15 a day fee (I think that's all it was, but I don't remember since we didn't pay it). They can be a little frustratin

Trip Type: With Friends Review 8 of 90Needs Improvement
Almost everything broke in my room, phone, iron, TV, Internet, etc... I had to call several times to get someone to fix or replace the items. I booked the room for four people they only gave us two towels. I had to ask for more.

The good: large, flat screen TV and marvelous bed. The bad: no chairs and weird room configuration, small room, no towel racks.

be prepared to pay for parking. we have never had to pay for parking at a hotel you are staying at, and there parking is not cheap . 50.00 for 1 night. not a good value wish we had been warned, would not have stayed there.
