Trip Type: Business Review 1 of 125Great value and good location
The recently renovated Hapmton Inn is a great, budget-friendly place to stay. It's not in the most scenic part of Cambridge, BUT it is a one block walk from the subway/train system which can quickly get you anywhere in Boston. I have stayed in 4 star hotels that were not as nice or accommodating.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 3 of 125Outstanding Hotel
The staff at the Hampton Inn Boston provided exceptional customer service. We arrived early from the airport and were tired because we had to get up at 4 a.m. to catch our flight. They had a room available and checked us in immediately. They invited us to have breakfast that morning. Any request we made, i.e., restaurants, transportation, etc. they were exeedingly helpful.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 4 of 125Great service
The staff in the hotel were great. They helped with directions and advice about the local area. I had planned to take the train downtown, and the front desk staff suggested a bus that got me to the same place much more quickly. I had a problem with the safe in my room, and they promptly sent someone to fix it.

Trip Type: Business Review 5 of 125Location alright, rooms clean
Nice rooms, location is in cambridge off the "Lechmere" T stop. Was there for a conference at the convention center, which cost 13 to 20 dollars each way, the T system is really close by (across the street from the hotel and one street down) but takes longer, from the T you can get anywhere, no near restaurants but there was a Marshalls. The computer downstairs broke down a few times and had some printing problems, during the day it would get fixed more, but at night forget about it, told the night person several times but never got done. faxing documents was free... Continental Breakfast was pretty good (stayed ther 4 nights and had an alternating hot dish (eggs, waffles, sausage) plus your usually continental breakfast (cereal, fruit, oj, coffee) Coffee was served all day which was nice. they had an odd taxi service for that hotel on most occasions with then charging a set rate (18 to conference center and I think 29 to the airport) paid 23 from a metered cab from the airport. Rooms comfortable, but a little noisy. they were kind enough to let my friends who took a red eye to sleep for a few hours before check in, so very impressed with that!!!

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 7 of 125Nice place, location so-so
Hotel was nice. Staff was great. Room was fairly clean. Room was right across from the ice machine so that kept me up when someone would go to get ice. Other than that it was quiet. Bed was way too soft for me.. no back support. Had it's own garage which was nice, but don't drive past the hotel. I did that and what a headache!! Main Rd, one ways, and no U turns.. had to go miles out of my way to get back. Location is close to museum of science which is good. Breakfast was more than I hoped for. Overall, nice place to stay although not quite worth the $ of a Boston hotel I don't think.

Trip Type: Business Review 8 of 125Worth considering for business or tourist travelers
Good: Just one block from subway station, 3 stops from downtown tourist area; a few blocks from nice mall with food court for cheap meals; high-speed internet was fast (unlike some "high speed" connections I've had at other hotels); decent free breakfast; staff were friendly and helpful Bad: room heater/cooler unit was badly located and unpleasant -- a wall unit that blew hard and noisy, right under window so it lifted curtains when it blew, and was right next to the desk so it blasted me from 3 feet away while I was working; I was there in nice weather do didn't need it much, but I wouldn't want that kind of room at a time of year when the unit had to be on a lot

Trip Type: Romance Review 10 of 125Great for a cheap Boston stay!
I was going to the Red Sox game in Boston and didn't have the money for an expensive, center of town hotel. I opted for the Hampton Inn in Cambridge and am so glad that I did. It was a short T ride to the center of town and the price was unbeatable. The room looked pretty much like any of the other hotel rooms that I was considering except much cheaper. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a good night's sleep in Boston!

Trip Type: Family Review 11 of 125Good deal
Convenient location for the price. Short walk to the T and the Galleria mall. Rooms look a bit dated but are nice and clean. Would stay there again.

Trip Type: Romance Review 12 of 125Great location
Conveniently located directly across the street from Lechmere T stop, just a few stops from downtown Boston. All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful with advice and directions, and they let us leave our car in the garage for the day even after we'd checked out, so we could spend most of the day in the city. Very good place for an affordable, comfortable stay in Boston.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 13 of 125Met my needs
This hotel is at the north end of the Green Line on Boston's T (subway system) just a block from the Lechmere station. I picked it because it provided access to Boston without the downtown prices. It worked OK for me, but not all trains run to the end of the line. Along with other hotel guests, I rode the T to Fenway for a Red Sox game. I also rode a local bus to visit Harvard. When I picked up my rental car to leave Boston, I was glad that the hotel provides free parking and isn't far from the freeways. The hotel itself was OK with an adequate breakfast. I liked the assortment of bed pillows so you can choose the firmness that you like. The website said that a renovation was underway but I didn't see or hear anything along these lines. I was gone during the day and it didn't bother me. The neighborhood is on the "gritty" side but isn't bad. I didn't see any restaurants in the immediate area so plan accordingly. Don't expect much of a view, but you'll probably sleep well here.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 15 of 125Very happy with our choice for 4rth of July
We stayed at this hotel for the 4rth of July. Proximity to a good viewing spot for the fireworks was great. Lechemere station (T stop) is less than a minutes walk from hotel entrance and Boston Garden is a 5 minute ride on the T, Fenway a 12 or 15 minute ride. Parking was free with room and the hotel staff let us park 5 hours before room check-in. The staff were helpful, cheerful and the room and bed and pillows were very comfortable and clean. We felt safe and taken care of our whole stay. The only possible complaint was the A/C unit was a little loud when it kicked in during the night.
