The hotel wasen't to bad but what really upset me was they charged $18 a day for parking and on top of that you need to tip the vallet... But what realy pissed me off is there was a sign out front was a sign for $10 a day parking.. So they charge there guests MORE for parking than non guest? It seems to me they would apreachate their guests more if they had none.

Trip Type: Business Review 2 of 15Valet nightmare
Aside from being charged $16.00 for each night, the valet staff was awful. There were two valets that did an excellent job, but several very young valets, were lazy, rude, and not always present to pick up the car.

I was staying in Tampa with my 2 girlfriends to see a concert. The night manager and night security gaurd made several inappropriate comments to us during our stay.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 6 of 15Room Needs Improvement
The first floor common areas were excellent and the staff was very courteous and helpfull. Beer at the bar was reasonable and cold. The bed was comfortable and the drapes kept the room dark. However, every other part of the room needed improvement. The bathroom sink wouldn't hold water, the vanity looked like a couple of 2X4's nailed together and painted. The fixtures were either bent or completely broken. The elevators were annoying and made a scraping noise when closing and the buttons seemed to always be on the opposite side that I normally look for them. The hotel is 5 minutes from UT which is what I wanted but I would rate this a 2 star hotel based on the room and areas above the first floor.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 7 of 15Expensive Room for the money
We stayed a weekend for my birthday and booked a "Deluxe King Riverview". The good thing (if you're a smoker) is that there are private balconies on every room to go out and burn one. However, there are quite a few downsides. The "riverview" was obscured by some conference room that was apparently added-on at some point. You had to lean over the balcony to see the river. Then the rooms did not get very cool at night. The AC worked, but if you like your room cooler when you sleep >70 F, you will be disappointed. Lastly, the entrance to the hotel is right on a busy highway, and the only option when you pull into the circular drive is Valet. We weren't told of the $16/daily charge for parking the car til we checked out. There are nice PCs to use in the lobby though. The front desk staff are generally nice. But we probably won't stay there again.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 8 of 15Needs new management
We waited 1 1/2 hours in line to check in. We prepaid for double beds but when we got there, none were available for us. The restaurant was unprepared to handle the volume of people from the conferences. We waited 45 minutes before any waitress would come to our table and a total of 3 hours from start to finish. The wait staff was unorganized, unattentive and not friendly during our Friday to Sunday stay. One of our rooms had dirty socks left in the bed from a previous customer and 2 other of our rooms had semen on the middle blanket. The hotel staff had to come up and strip the beds. No apologies were made and since there was conferences and hotels were booked up, we could not change hotels. I would not recommend this hotel and this should not be rated a 4star hotel.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 9 of 15MUST use Valet Parking Service. No exceptions
Overall, it's a beautiful hotel. It has wonderful goose down pillows, clean restrooms, super comfy beds, flat screen tv. The bad is.. valet parking as mentioned in another post. You have to use valet parking. They charge $16 per day + tips. We went in and out of hotel 12-15 times during our stay of 4 days and 3 nights. Each time, we had to tip valet parking $5. The wait on valet isn't long and they are usually pretty quick, it is just unexpected cost to add up. You can stay in Hilton or Grand hyatt close by for better prices, accomodation.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 10 of 15nice staff/tired hotel
Great shuttle service w/in 3 mile radius. Mandatory valet parking (this is true of all hotels in this area--it just isn't noted on all hotel.com descriptions and reviews). Interior of room very tired and shabby looking. Great view of riverwalk, w/in walking areas to trolly lines. Late night loud guests in pool continued their shenanigans inside hallways. I finally complained about the noise and wonder why the hotel staff didn't deal with the noise issue well before I had to.

Good location in downtown Tampa. Do not stay there if you are on business. Multiple internet problems. Was told by tech support that their T-1 line is not big enough for the use the hotel gets. Had trouble getting faxes. Not enough front desk staff. Tried to print from "business center" and they were out of toner.
