Trip Type: Business Review 1 of 97Older, but clean Hotel
Very convenient to Downtown Tampa and convention center. Older 5 story hotel, but well kept. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Only parking was valet, and they charged $16 a night to park. More expensive than I expected, but good experience overall.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 3 of 97Hotel is very noisy unless staying on River Side
This hotel was very nice as far as rooms and pricing, but rooms on the street side were very noisy with street noise. Would only stay at this hotel again if room was on the river side.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 4 of 97Very nice
Very nice, just needed a room for a night but will consider staying during vacation time. During check in, we were told we had a view of the river. The view was of the Hotel entrance roof and if I streched my neck out of the balcony then we could see a speck of the river. I wished they would have said nothing of what view we were going to have, then I would have not been disappointed.

Rooms were clean, well outfitted and very comfortable. Concierge was very helpful and pleasant recommending nearby restaurants, etc. We also loved the free shuttle service within a 3-mile radius.

although it was nice to be on the river the carpet was dirty and we lacked towels. the buffet in the morning had dry waffels and over cooked eggs. If I had paid the full price for a room, ($339) I would have been very upset.

Trip Type: Business Review 8 of 97Nice Hotel...A few quirks
This was a nice hotel. The only suggestion I would make to those of you planning to use the provided hairdryer is that you may want to consider bringing your own. They are kept in a cubby by the sink that was dusty and the hairdryer collected alot of dust. Otherwise, the staff was extremely helpful and easy to work with. The food at the lobby restaurant was better than I expected. Great location for downtown Tampa business travelers.

Trip Type: Business Review 9 of 97Nice renovation
This hotel used to be a Radisson, where I stayed in Feb. 2001. According to the hotel manager (who checked me in), Sheraton has put nearly $10 million in renovating the hotel. The rooms themselves were quite well done, with nice, contemporary furnishings, plasma TVs, etc. The hallways needed sprucing up, or at least some wall paper, and the ice machine (which was nicely hidden) was very noisy. The service was very good, as I had booked a king bed, but they didn't have any left at the rate I booked for. So the manager gave me a riverfront room at no extra cost, which I definately appreciated. The only drawback to the riverfront room, which has a balcony, is that being on the lower floors (there are only 4 floors), the first floor roof is visible, and is not very pretty. The room was very comfortable, at a good price, and had free wi-fi. The valet was quick, and they had unlimited in-and-out at no extra charge.

Trip Type: Business Review 10 of 97Great room for the money
The hotel is in a great location. The staff was very friendly. They provide free transportation for drop off and pickup within 3 miles of the hotel.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 11 of 97Great Hotel, but be careful of the shuttle
We picked this hotel especially because of the proximity to the Cruise terminal at Channelside. Which was very close, but not close enough to walk with all the luggage. The hotel promised a free shuttle, but were woefully unprepared. The evening we were there, there was a 45-60 minute wait for the shuttle. So we just walked to Channelside. On the day of the cruise, there was supposedly a 20-30 minute wait, but the shuttle broke and they did not communicate this to anyone and finally had a "pay-for-service" shuttle come and that company continuously tried to get us to pay for the shuttle when it should have been on the hotel. The communication on that side of the house was extremely poor. The hotel was great, staff was great INSIDE the building. If you are looking to this hotel to provide you accomodations and access to the cruise terminal, find a different hotel because they put our transportation at risk.

Although the valet service was great, the cost for overnight parking increased to $16.00 from $10.00 for daytime.

Trip Type: Rest and Recreation Review 13 of 97Looking for an excuse to stay there again!
Everything exceeded our expectations! The staff were super friendly and incredibly helpful. Each staff member we came across went out of their way to assist, addressed us by name each time and made us feel like big shots. The valet service was great, and each time we got in the car we were asked if we needed help finding our location. The concierge was always one step ahead of us in making our stay more enjoyable. The breakfast buffet was a great deal, tasty and convenient. The restaurant staff were friendly and helpful, we never needed to ask for anything because they were there before we could ask. Internet service was perfect up in our room, and I noticed there were even computers we could have used down in the lobby. My only complaint was that we couldn't stay longer and were only there for the Home Show at the convention center. (A short walk away.) So this means we'll have to plan a special trip to Tampa just to relax and enjoy the hotel's amenities. We never even made it down to the pool, but it looked lovely from our riverside view! My husband also enjoyed a 10 mile run around the town and said it was one of the most enjoyable routes he's ever done. He didn't even need a water bottle, the city has water fountains everywhere! Overall, I can't wait to go back again....I'm thinking maybe a week surrounding the Tampa Marathon!

Trip Type: Romance Review 14 of 97Great location
Great location, great price. Very friendly staff and the shuttle service offered by the hotel was very convenient and offsets the pain of having to pay for overnight valet. One other thing, when you book a standard room with this website, Sheraton defaults your room to a standard room with 2 double beds, I had to have mine changed because my reservation was initially for a standard with King size bed.
