Trip Type: Family Review 1 of 14not so great
the suite was considerable smaller than expected; the carpet was in disrepair; the table and appliances showed their age and wear; took WAY too long to get hot water in the shower.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 3 of 14Be Wary of Maintenance
Although the resort is in a great location and has an expansive water park, we were unable to enjoy it. When we attempted to check in, we were told that no rooms were available due to "unexpected maintenance" that had come up. The manager said that our reservation had been transfered to another location. Dunes Village made no other offers or apologies other than sending us to the other location. We were not the only group that this happened to. Be wary.

Trip Type: Family Review 4 of 14Terrible setup
Very inconvenient layout of hotel. Anytime you wanted to go to the beach, restaurant, outdoor pool, you had to go through the slippery waterslide area. Also, the only 2 public bathrooms in the hotel were broken when we were there, and there was no bathroom in the indoor pool area (can you imagine how many kids just let it go right there?). If you were in the Palmetto tower, you go had to cross buildings (once again through waterpark) to get something the eat/drink. We would not stay here again.

Trip Type: Romance Review 5 of 14Hated parking
The hotel was nice and the room was great, however parking acroos the street was really terrible. It is really incovenient. Over all the hotel was nice except for the parking and location of the pools if you do not stay in the center building you have to walk to the next building to get to the pool area. Good hotel but will look for more convenient parking on next stay. They do offer valet parking I highly recommend you pay the 5 dollars we wish we would have!!

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 6 of 14Room was okay.
This hotel is good for families. Not for someone just wanting to get away for the weekend. I did not understand the additional resort fee of $13.00 and then on top of that you had to put down a deposit of $50 or $100....just didn't make sense to me when you have already paid for the room. I will not stay there again....will look for some place that do not charge an extra fee. Travelers Beware.

Trip Type: Romance Review 7 of 14What were they thinking!
Well first of all the address is wrong they are listed as 5300 N. Ocean Blvd. when the are actually 5200 N. Ocean Blvd. believe it or not the difference is 30-35 minutes in drive time. Well I finaly got to the hotel and the first room I was put in was very dirty so they moved me, the second room I was put in didn't have door knobs on the bathroom door and the air condition unit was completely removed from the wall, I mean there was a 2 by 4 foot hole that you could crawl strait out to the balcony through. I was ready to go find a new hotel but they put me in a sweet at no additional charge and it was very nice but after all the aggravation it just wasn't enough to compensate. To some it up I will never stay there again.

Trip Type: Family Review 8 of 14Needs Improvement
Tile floors & carpet felt sticky. Toilet was dirty. Towels were dirty & dingy looking----almost didn't want to use the towels. Some staff members were not courteous. Pool & water slide area was disappointing. Could have been a very good choice considering the well appointed room with a four burner stove with oven, microwave, frig, cooking and eating utensils-----if only the management & staff would pay more attention to cleanliness. Also, tacked on a "resort charge" that they said was not included in the rate I paid through Hotels.com

Trip Type: Family Review 10 of 14Great getaway
This is a great hotel for a quick get-away. The waterparks are great. However, there are so many people in the pools and lazy rivers that the cleaning systems obviously could not keep up. The water always looked hazy from all the sunscreens. Not very appealing. The adults were the only ones who seemed to mind - the kids didn't care. We stayed on the fourth floor, ocean view. The fourth floor is where the air conditioners are housed. When exiting the elevators you have to walk right by the dozen or so air conditioner units to get to your room. Not very pleasant to look at. But, once we were in our room the view was fantastic. Room was comfortable - all except the mattress. For extended stay we would choose another hotel - our backs couldn't stand more than 1 or 2 nites!

Trip Type: Romance Review 11 of 14Ok for kids
When I go to the beach I want a nice beach and great pools. Myrtle beach is nice but the pools here leave a lot to be desired. Too small, not enough chairs, no drink service, can't see the beach from the pool, lazy river is inside...not exactly where I want to spend a beach weekend. Room was ok, bed very hard and uncomfortable. Had an angle view to the ocean where you could look down between 2 hotels and see the water. It was just ok, I wouldn't go there again.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 13 of 14Disappointing Staff
The staff at the registration counter was completly incompetent from the initial greeting to added fees and check-in requirements that did not allow me to enjoy the stay. I was charged an additional $6.83 higher daily rate from the posted room rate and told me, in a rude manner, that the hotels.com site did not include the resort fee, although the posted resort fee should have been $3.00 per day according to the hotel's direct site. I have to admit it's not the $7.00, but how it was communicated along with the fact I was the only person checking in and it took just under 10 minutes to get checked in to the room. Good help must really be hard to find.
