Trip Type: Business Review 1 of 44This place is TERRIBLE
First and foremost, they lied about the location. This hotel is not in Buckhead, it's right off Buford Hwy and that's not Buckhead. The beads were very comfortable and the room attendant was very nice. The hall carpeting needs some attention and fast. The worst part of my stay was the other guests. There was a utility contracting company that was staying at the hotel and those guys had no consideration for the other guest who were staying there. When I complained to guest services about the noise, I was told they would talk to the supervisor of the company. A lot of good that did. The next night the same noise continued. If you are looking for optimum guest service, pay the extra money and stay in a better hotel.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 2 of 44A little smelly...
The staff at this hotel was wonderful. The breakfast served was pretty much standard when compared to others hotel chains. They had fresh fruit and bagels, danishes, juice and cereal and an ample supply of everything. My son would have preferred a few vegan options (he got tired of oatmeal and fruit). We were there a week after a lot of Atlanta was flooded by rain. There is a creek at the back of the hotel and the staff told me it came up to the back of the Inn - I suspect it went higher. There was a musty smell throughout the hallways mostly - the rooms smelled strongly of cleaner. While it appeared clean the smell was a bit off-putting. The picture of the outside makes it look very nice and actually the Inn pretty much matches the picture - but the surrounding area was a bit concerning. It is on one of those streets that has pockets of new and old, shady and fancy...and there is an adult club (strip club) right across the street. I was a little concerned to be out at night. The location is very close to downtown Atlanta and a really good location as far a proximity to a lot of attractions and colleges is concerned.

Trip Type: Business Review 3 of 44Poor mainteinance
The hallway carpets were dirty. The housekeeper did not clean our room (no clean towels or the trash was taken out), we had to go to the front desk for towels.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 4 of 44You Get What You Pay For
We stayed in this hotel for four consecutive nights. The room my husband and I were in had a queen bed and that's all there was room for. There wasn't much room for us and our luggage comfotably. We did not get maid service until we asked for it. The towels started to tear as both my husband and I were drying off after our showers. The breakfast had no fresh fruit and two tables at which to sit and eat. The front desk personnel were just there; they were not outgoingly friendly, except for one man at night. These are facts for you to decide for yourself whether this hotel is right for you.

Trip Type: Family Review 5 of 44Not as expected
This hotel was not up to the standard of other Micros that I have stayed in. It was showing its age. Dirty worn carpet, room had trash on floor. Bed was broken and worn out. The worse was the adult bar across street. On Saturday night could not sleep for all the noise and alarms going on outside our window. Patrons from the bar were parking in the hotel parking lot and partying too. They were setting off car alarms, fighting, etc. Call front desk about this, which they did not seem alarmed at all, so guess this is a regular happening. Without this problem and with some cleaning and sprucing up, wouldn't be a bad place at all. Very convenient location. Too bad about the other.

ACROSS THE STREET FROM PINK PONNY

Trip Type: Romance Review 7 of 44Not worth the money
Terrible housekeeping! The dirtiest hotel bthrm I ever saw. I spent 10 mins just cleaning the toilet. I had to go to the cust svc desk to get someone to clean the tub because the bottom had black stains and soap scum streaks was all over the tub and walls. The bthrm sink look like someone forgot to wash it after brushing their teeth. NASTY! The lid to the ice bucket had dried food and other kinds of stuff on it. Was in a non smoking rm on a smoking flr. When asked to be changed to a non smoking rm on a non smoking flr, we were told we would have to deal with noise instead of the smell of smoke on the first flr. Heard the boom booming music of the club next door all night anyway even though we stayed in our non smoking rm on the smoking 3rd flr. Will never stay there again.

Trip Type: Romance Review 8 of 44Great room for the money
Great room for the money but we didn't like the location. There was "The Pink Pony" across the street from the hotel. So there was a lot of people walking through the hotel parking lot to go to the Pink Pony.

Trip Type: Business Review 9 of 44Needs Major Improvement
We had two rooms in Microtel Inn. One room had fake eye lashes in one of the drawers. The other room did not have enough towels. My friend went down to ask for more towels, the head lady said we need to personally bring down our used dirty towels in order to get more towels. The staff was very rude! Also, on the first night, it seemed as if the first floor lobby was a hang out place for local transvestites. I did not want my kids going down to the first floor. Higly not recommended!!

Trip Type: With Friends Review 10 of 44Okay for the money
The room was very small but I slept well. The bed was comfortable but the pillows go flat so bring your own if you don't want neck pains. Hotel employees were professional and willing to help you. Overall stay was okay for the money but I'm not sure I will stay here again.

Trip Type: Business Review 11 of 44Cheap no frills hotel
The Microtel was as bare bones as could be. The only amenity was decent wireless service. During my stay a water main broke and the hotel was without water for almost 24 hours...meaning that the place was nearly useless. A water main breaking was not Microtels fault of course, but if I hadn't stayed at a tiny place well outside of the downtown area, the repair would not have taken 24 hours.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 12 of 44Poor Location
The "Pink Pony" was across the street and was very loud all night. There were a lot of people "walking the streets" and "hanging out" in the area around the motel. We did not feel safe. The motel itself was nice and the service was great. The clerks at the counter were very friendly.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 13 of 44Background noise
The hotel is located next to a night club with loud music playing late into the night. I barely slept the night I stayed. Otherwise, the hotel was clean and well maintained, and the rate was quite reasonable for the amenities it provides.

the hotel room was comfortable. the white tile in the bathroom in the shower needs to be bleached so you don't see the mold growing...i almost didn't want to take a shower. the noise of the clubs next door was horrible. i could hear the bass of the music in my room with the tv on until 4:30am....i didn't sleep much and i was staying there for work! this would be reason i would tell people not to stay here. a wall needs to be put up around the parking lot or something needs to be done. i will never stay here again because of the noise, even though it close to work.

Trip Type: Business Review 15 of 44Bad Location
The hotel itself was nice and the room would have been comfortable had it not been right across the street from a strip club and bars. I did not know this when I booked the room. I assumed that since it was in Buckhead it would be in a slightly more upscale neighborhood. The walls are paper thin and my husband and I could hear complete conversations from the hall and from the room next to ours. People came in at all hours of the night and we could hear every door slam. I woke up every thirty minutes all night long. If you don't have to be anywhere the next morning you might not mind but I had an early morning commitment. The highlight was the overnight clerk who moved us quickly to a much quieter room at 4 am. He was very polite and apologetic. He was there the next morning and was genuinely interested in how the rest of our night...or morning...was. The breakfast was good and the hotel was clean.
