Trip Type: Special Event Review 2 of 9OK
I would rate our stay at the hotel "OK". The rooms are pretty dated (no flat screen tv in our room) and need better lighting. Also, it looks like there is some deferred maintenance on the woodwork around the hotel. We did enjoy the Ipod docking station. I also liked the small refrigerator in our room. Good for bottle water. The grounds are lovely and there were plenty of lounge chairs. Overall the staff was nice and accommodating, although I tried to book a room for another family member who was flying in for only one night. The front desk agent offered me a mountain view room at a rate that was more than my than my ocean view room. I asked if he could do any better, he made a call and told me that was the best that the hotel could do. I was told by two staff members that the hotel was at 60% occupancy. Interesting........ The food I ordered at the poolside was good, but watch out for the birds! Cocktails were pretty expensive, $17.75 for a Belvedere martini.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 3 of 9No real beach access
Even if there is a easily accessiblebeach in front of the hotel, there are little chances to hang out at the the beach unless you want to lay down on the sand with just your towel. Some days the hotel does not provide at all long chairs for the beach. On other days provide put special cabanas that can be used only if rented for $40 a day. This little details were never specified anywhere in the web site. Pools on the other hand are very crowded with one chair right next to the other.

Trip Type: Romance Review 4 of 9Horrible hotel for the money
wow! Were we surprised when we checked in, the pictures of this hotel do it way more justice than it deserves. The pool was great, and the breakfast was great, everything else was NOT great. We received bug bites while sleeping in our bed, the bathroom locks are breaking off, and beware of all of the hidden fees (resort fee, parking fee, etc.) just not what you expect for one of the most expensive hotels on Maui. We did stay at a different hotel before checking into the Hyatt that was very nice, just saying that you can get more for your money. Very disappointed!

Pool area was very crowded and beach was narrow. Very nice property but expensive. Do not visit Hawii if you smoke.
