Definetly "Run Away" from Runaway Inn

This hotel reminds me of a typical run down hotel. It shouldn't be called a hotel. It should be called a motel. Everything from the bed to the light on the ceiling was bad. Even the a/c was not adjustable. One star, not two!

Bates Motel 2009...

We booked this hotel because we were going to a party in the area and needed a place to shower and leave our luggage. The hotel did NOT serve its purpose. The lobby had a moldy, smoky smell. The gentleman at the reception desk was smoking and wasn't very receptive when we asked about taxis, check-out times or other hotel 'amenities.' The hallway was poorly lit and the room wasn't any better. It looks like someone dented the wall and they did a spotty job covering it up. The toilet was running the entire time and you can't take a shower without touching the walls. The shower stall was small and rusty and the sink had long blond hair all around it. We asked the reception for an iron and he said we might have to wait until the morning to 'see if' they had one; unacceptable. The room doesn't have an AC or thermostat that you can control so be prepared with your OWN towels & blankets. Our towels were small and stained. The vending machine and ice machines are in the lobby and only the ice machine worked, so no beverages or snacks. If you need a hotel just for location, then this is fine, and the airport shuttle is convienecet. However, if you need something long term or something that has the basics, don't go with Runway. We only spent 3hrs in the room and we were happy we didn't have to stay a minute longer than that.

Good location

The hotel is perfect if you are going to stay only one night and the next day you are leaving and need to get to the airport. Also the transportation service to the airport from the hotel is good

Needs Improvement

Location,Rate,and A comfortable bed were all satisfactory but...NO ELEVATOR. This fact should be listed.

Needs Improvement

This was not the worst hotel I've been to, but it was not worth what I paid. This hotel needs some improvements. The building is very old and the walls are very thin. We had a screaming kid in the room next to us that you could hear very clearly. We got woken up at 1:00 am and again at 7:00 am. The bathrooms are very small with nowhere to hang towels and no counters. The room would have been worth it at half the price I paid.

Just average

We stayed at this hotel the night before our cruise. The room was very small, and not enough room to put your luggage. There was 4 of us, and it was too small. The bathroom was very tiny...no countertop to put anything on, and the water in the shower filled up and drained very slowly. It was loud (no carpet on the hallway floors). The room was clean. If you're looking for just an overnoight before your cruise for just 2 people, it's okay for the price.

a bit noisy

Very easy access to airport, the staff was very nice, the rooms were very clean, but they were very small. The problem that I had was that I was on vacation, this is an older hotel so you can hear your neibors and people in the hall so I was woke up early the 2 days I stayed.

Cheap but Scary

I chose this hotel because we just needed it for 1 night before our cruise and our flight was not getting into Miami until midnight. I wish I spent an extra $50 so I could have actually slept, I was too scared to sleep the whole night. Good points- the hotel was cheap - free shuttle picked us up promptly even at 12:30am when our flight got in - the bed was actually kind of comfy Bad points- this hotel is in a very bad area - our window did not lock at all which made me so nervous - the night we stayed there was noise from other guests all night long - the floor in the room was sticky, i wouldnt take my socks off - bathroom shower dirty I would not recommend this hotel for woman traveling alone. If you have the money to stay in a nicer hotel I would spend it. There is a free shuttle from the airport but we had to pay for a cab to the port of miami which was around $30.00 for any other cruisers

stinks & rough location

hotel smelled dingy and the surrounding neighborhood was rough.

Tiny

Postage stamp room & bathroom. Absolutely no place to set anything down in the bathroom (except the top of the toilet tank.) Electrical outlet in the bathroom was dead. Night stand clock displayed the wrong time and was broken such that it couldn't even be set to the correct time. Scary, rough neighborhood. Extreme airplane and hallway noise. Couldn't wait to leave.
