Trip Type: Family Review 1 of 21Not worth the money
Very excited about our first ever trip to Cleveland but disappointed with the hotel. Only one elevator worked the entire weekend; people were standing 25-30 deep at times waiting. Hotel front desk staff had no personality and were very impatient with the guests who became very frustrated over the course of the weekend. Breakfast buffet we had to wait on silverware, plates and then the food was cold. Have never had a bad experience at an Embassy Suites in 20 years but this one proved to be a big disappointment. Hotel was conveniently located to major attractions, room was clean and spacious.

Trip Type: Family Review 2 of 21Seriously?
I was very excited to stay at the Embassy because I've always enjoyed them in other cities, but this stay was not what I expected. Upon arrival I was told that check in was an hour later than my confirmation said.. no big deal I'll wait in the lobby. After that one hour and about 10 extra minutes the receptionist told me very coldly that it would be probably about 30-40 more minutes. At that point I asked for her manager, whom I never actually met, and was put into another room. The room was ok, not bad but not great. The rest of the stay was fine. The breakfast was good and the staff there was very friendly, but the dumb receptionist ruined it for us.

Trip Type: Family Review 5 of 21Old and tired
The hotel at one time may have been very nice, but the lack of upkeep is very apparent. Our room was relatively clean, but the hallway was not vacumed once during our three day stay. Hallways constantly littered with roomservice trays. Never once saw anyone who looked like a manager (even at the manager's reception). Would not recommend.

Trip Type: Business Review 7 of 21Embassy Suites, Cleveland Downtown, February 2009
The hotel shuttle delivered us to the wrong theatre, potentially missing the musical for which we had tickets. The lobby at Embassy Suites is a joke, partitioned off to make a mini-mall. The room was bare, missing a dining table and chairs and a coffee table in front of the sofa.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 9 of 21Nice facility for the price...but
The shower plumbing was a puzzle. Figuring ourt how to get the shower to work (and not the main water supply for the tub) took several minutes. No instructions were provided and the showerhead itself was cheap, worn and barely functional

Trip Type: Special Event Review 10 of 21Not what I expected
The hotel is very nice at a good price. However, I was given the wrong type room after I had even called and confirmed that I had a two double bed room the week of my stay. I booked this room months in advance, so I should have gotten what I ordered. The floor in this room was soaked as well. the hall and into the KING bedroom was all wet. The room was very spacious and nice. The bathroom was NOT clean at all..the shower curtain was moldy and so were the tiles. I booked this embassy because I have always had great luck with them and the rooms are so large and spacious. The breakfast is great at these hotels..I think I just had a bad experience with this one. I also had a smoking room with no ashtrays. Towels were very plentiful though, which is something I look for.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 12 of 21Slow response
We knowingly booked a smoking room because non-smoking rooms were unavailable. The desk staff told us when checked in that they could send someone up to spray the room and unlock the windows if we needed it. Once in the room we called the desk and asked to have this done. It took two call and 1 1/2 hours for someone to come to the room to have this done.

The room was clean and comfortable. The reason I will never visit this hotel again is the poor service from hotel restaurant, and raw meat served. Also, witnessed cleaning staff with hands in trash, then moved to counter to handle food. What made a bad experience worse, was the charges made to my account after I checked out. I would not use this hotel again.

Trip Type: Business Review 15 of 21Parking hijinx
Be careful about the parking at this hotel. the staff completely mislead you. The Valet parking IS NOT cheaper than self-park. Self-park at attached garage is $10 per day. Valet is $18 plus tips. Room strangely sparse and cold, though the two panel tvs are nice. Bathroom lights turn off at the wrong side and the sink and tub do not drain. Heating and cooling impossible to control. Breakfast is good.
