Trip Type: Business Review 1 of 12True European Quality Hotel
Perhaps the best hotel in Vienna over time, the Sacher did not disappoint us. The staff was friendly and efficient. They got us symphony tickets and offered good advice. All-in-all, this was an enjoyable experience. Of course, with the Euro where it is, it's not a cheap hotel. But it seemed as if the Sacher made every attempt to deliver at a level consistent with its reputation.

Trip Type: Family Review 3 of 12GREAT hotel!
Hotel Sacher was a fantastic springboard from which to explore Vienna. The location, immediately across from the Opera House, was fabulous and we had no trouble walking to or tramming to various locations around the city. Some special ideas: Dinner in the Summer Palace 'Bird' Garden a block and a half to the right of Hotel Sacher -- looks like just another outdoor bistro, but GREAT grilled fish and meats!; a visit to the Arsenal (Heeresmuseum) on the D-tram just a 1/2 block from the hotel; FABULOUS concert at the Musikverein (Goldener Saal) worth every penny; the Museum of Natural history (about a 5 minute walk) and the open air 'dinner stalls' at the Rathaus Platz during August (maybe also other times)-- about a 10 minute walk. Truly wonderful. Quick tip: Sometimes the first Austrian answer it geared toward tourists ... suggest to the concierge that you'd like to explore stuff off the beaten track and they will think it through for you.

Trip Type: Romance Review 5 of 12THE Place to Stay
Unless you are obsessed with modern architecture and furniture, Sacher is the place to stay in Vienna. We've been twice now. We also collect antiques and antique art, so we really enjoy the 19th and 18th century art and furniture (or replicas). This hotel is friendly and reliable in every way. The TV is a bit small, but other than that the modern elements are excellent - the WiFi internet connection is easy to use and reliable. Breakfast is fantastic in main restaurant but pricey. I would recommend avoiding the more casual Sacher Cafe next door unless you are only getting coffee and/or dessert as the better value for breakfast or lunch is the Motzart Cafe which is also part of the building.

Anyplace where they actually wax the hotel room doors, pays attention to the details and it shows. Don't miss the Blue Bar.

I will definitely stay here again. The hotel is a little pricey, but you get what you pay for - this is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. Wonderful service, great staff in every department. Restaurants were very good, bar had great hours and very knowledgeable staff - concierge was exceptional.
