Trip Type: Family Review 1 of 41Great Location but hotel needs improvements
We picked the Tuscan because pets are allowed and its location on Fisherman's Wharf. We previously had stayed at the nearby Sheraton and enjoyed walking the wharf area on foot. The condition of the public areas at the Tuscan is adequate and could benefit from remodeling and updating. The room itself was clean and very basic with wallpaper peeling on edges. If not for the location, the room rate would be outrageous. The staff service was just ok. We normally like to move our own luggage so we can do it at our own pace. When we arrived by car late in the evening, the bell man would not allow us to use two nearby unused luggage carts even though there was nobody else checking in, saying that a guest had hurt themselves. He was more than willing to help and receive a tip for putting our things on his cart and moving to the room. If the condition of the hotel is important to you, I would look at the Sheraton or the Marriott. The Radisson is also ok but rooms are small. If room rate is more important, then the Tuscan is not bad. The location is very good, room is comfortable, rest of staff service is good, and they have pet snacks and California wine at 5 in the lobby. Enjoy!

Trip Type: Romance Review 2 of 41Rude Staff...items missing from my room
When we checked into the Hotel, we were given a 'double' room instead of the King we had booked for our romantic weekend. When confronted about the 'mistake' on their part we were told that we were wrong, until we showed the girl at the front desk our print off from Hotels.com. Instead of apologizing and correcting the issue, we were told that nothing could be done until the next day. Not even a smile was sent our way. The Tuscan staff moved our packed luggage into the new room, and my husband and I discovered that both of our phone chargers were missing. When we approached the Manager about this, we were accused of not packing them to begin with. Finally, we were told that the Manager would run out and purchase our charges that day and overnight them to our home. None of this was done, and now we are forced to go and purchase them ourselves. Nothing has been done to correct our issues while staying at the Tuscan. This experience has left a very poor taste in our mouths, and we will definitely never stay there again. I will also make it a point to never recommend this hotel to any of my friends or family that travel to San Francisco in the future.

Trip Type: Romance Review 3 of 41It was ok
Be ready for traffic noise, Walgreens and Safeway next door, within walking distance to almost everything.

Trip Type: Romance Review 6 of 41Mediocre Hotel, A Bit Overpriced
This hotel was ok, but for the price we paid, it was mediocre with small rooms, loud A/C and expensive parking. The restaurant attached was very good though, but that was the only highlight.

Trip Type: Romance Review 7 of 41Room size
The room was too small. Couldn't walk behind the bed if the dresser drawer was open. The bathroom was big, almost as large and the room. Paying for nighly parking was very expensive. Location of the hotel was great.

Trip Type: Family Review 8 of 41"Fees for Everything"
Room rates were lower than nearby hotels, but hotel charged excessive fee for parking. Room refridgerator was locked and we were not offered a key. Room safe fee was automaticaly added to bill; removed when questioned. Mason St. side of hotel was extremely loud with traffic and a late night parking garage party.

Trip Type: Romance Review 9 of 41Good location, Bad room
The location was good, the room was pretty bad. While I did not expect a view, I did expect a window in the room that at least looked out onto the street or something, instead it was kind of a basement type room with a tiny window that looked into a tiny cemented in area. Made the small room even feel smaller. I would stay somewhere else next time.

Trip Type: Romance Review 14 of 41Good for budget but not for romance
If you stay here, I would call and request an outside room, especially if checking in late. My husband and I checked in late and were told we got the very last room. The room was tiny and instead of a little balcony like the outside rooms, our small window overlooked a little "courtyard" filled with air ducts and concrete. The people there were nice and the lobby was okay. Free interest with a printer was available. The location is wonderful for Fisherman's Wharf, only a couple minutes walk, but far from everything else. For our wedding anniversary it was bad so we checked out after 1 night and went to a hotel with more perks and a better view.
