Trip Type: Family Review 1 of 24A Room with a View
We spent more for a room with an oceanview and more space on the balcony. Well worth the extra dollars! I loved sitting on the balcony watching and listening to the waves!

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 3 of 24KAUAI IS GREAT!
We were very pleased with our Ocean Front Room at the Sheraton. The view was spectacular, and the beach is front of the resort is a very nice sandy beach. (some places nearby are much more rocky) As we traveled with a group, several members of our party had rooms on the "other side of the road". It's very much worth the extra amount to stay on the beach side of this resort. We would come back to this hotel (again) as Kauai was simply beautiful. Take a helicopter tour if you want to really see the island!

Trip Type: Family Review 4 of 24Nice Location; Room OK
The location and beach were great. Our room seemed dated - very small and cracks in the bathroom tile. However, it was clean.

Trip Type: Rest and Recreation Review 5 of 24Great bargain
When checking in, I was offered an upgrade for additional fee. I took it and had a beautiful beach view. The original room was dark and in the back of the hotel. It was still a great bargain for a great hotel.

The hotel was in a beautiful spot and the way it is maintained is immaculate. Truly an island paradise!

Trip Type: With Friends Review 7 of 24Great location -- okay room
This hotel was in a great location on Kauai... and the views from the public areas were outstanding. The public areas were also maintained well, and the staff was friendly. However, our 'garden wing' room was on the small side -- especially the bathroom (only one sink); and the room coul duse an update/renovation. Maybe the ocean view rooms are better. For the money we would probably try somewhere else next year, or until they renovate again.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 8 of 24Great Beach and location, great for families!
We just returned from our Kauai vacation. We stayed two nights at the Sheraton prior to our time share stay. We were very happy with the hotel, especially the great swimming beach. Most of the north shore beaches aren't very swimmable in January. So the location in Poipu is perfect for the time of year. We got a great deal on an ocean front room, with beautiful views. We've previously stayed at another 4 star hotel which is at least double the price we paid for the Sheraton. The Sheraton is not quite as posh but really has all the needed amenities. The free wifi was nice too!

Trip Type: Family Review 12 of 24Great for kids
The kids had a great time at their pool with the water slide. The view was wonderful from the pool also. The only down side was the construction going on outside of the hotel. We couldn't hear it, but it made it difficult getting in or out of the hotel.

Trip Type: Romance Review 14 of 24Nice Hotel
We booked a deluxe oceanfront room and were happy with the view. Rooms are comfortable and clean. The food at the restaurants was a little pricey but good. Hotel staff (other than wait staff in restaurants) could have been a little friendlier.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 15 of 24Okay-Sheraton Kauai Poipu Beach
Overall, the hotel was not like a tropical paradise, but more like a conference hotel IN paradise. When I stayed there many years ago in the past, it had more the feel of old Hawaii not of one greeting conference goers. I had also stayed at the Waikiki Sheraton this trip and found it more tourist-friendly. This was the only hotel on my trip to use disposable coffee cups and drinking glasses. Also, it put one of those hot shot coffee makers which is almost like a tepid bit of hot water to make either a cup of instant or weak tea. I would have been very unhappy if I'd stayed any longer than one night with having to find coffee each day in a hotel where the restaurant was across the street. If you want more of an island experience go elsewhere. If you want to think you're still on the mainland, then this is your place to stay. We visited the beautiful beach but not the restaurant.
