Trip Type: Business Review 1 of 32What a waste
I stay at LaQuinta's atleast once a week. This hotel was way below anything I have ever experienced before. I booked a king smoking and got there to find out I had a king non-smoking, and ended up in a double smoking. Then the toilet was stopped up. The neighborhood leaves alot to be desired. I ended up doing drive thru to get dinner. The wifi just plain sucked.

Trip Type: Family Review 2 of 32Not worth your time or money
The hotel was horrible. I had booked 2 rooms, both had lots of ants around the vanity area, and air conditioning wasn't cooling at all. Shower was broken. Fire alarm went on at around 3am. Breakfast was OK, nothing "continental" about it. Staff wasn't all that caring - when I explained the receptionist about all these issues, she just took notes and said thank you as if I was there to give my feedback rather than enjoy my vacation. Her explanation for all these problems - "This is the first La Quinta built in Miami, and is a a very old building, and very difficult to maintain. Thank you for your feedback." If you want to stay at a La Quinta, stay at La Quinta Inn Miami Airport East, 3501 NW Le Jeune Rd, Miami, FL, 33166. It's much better.

Trip Type: Business Review 4 of 32Dirty Hotel!!
The sheets and towels were both dirty. The room was muggy and not comfortable at all. When I asked for the sheets and towels to be changed they could not because house keeping had already gone home. Save yourself the hassell and go somewhere else.

Trip Type: Rest and Recreation Review 7 of 32Below other La Quinta standards
Have stayed at other La Quinta Inn's with better service and lower price! Hotel is very basic: No free newspaper. Not even a newspaper vending machine near premises. TV Cable, lower than basic. Other LQI have a decent amount of channels. Room make up. Fine but for some reason maid refused to give us a new supply of paper cups for 3 days????!!!! Conclusion: Lots of other hotels in Miami Airport / Doral area for similar rates and newer appearance

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 8 of 32Front desk service is lacking
Just returned from an overnight stay at the Quinta Inn North near Miami airport. Had terrible service from the front desk- they gave me bad information when I called for an airport pick-up upon arrival. I waited for over an hour, making multiple calls and was never told the pick-up point was on a different level. (also Miami airports bad service by not naming pick-up point as D1 or D2 depending on level). At check-in that evening the clerk seemed inexperinced, I was given a room key that didn't work. When I asked for a nearby restaurant nobody at the front desk could tell me where a nice local restaurant was located. We ended up eating at a really nasty Denny's. I was told that the airport shuttle runs continuously in the morning by the evening check-in clerk. I was quite surprised when I was told at 5:00 am that I would have to wait over an hour for the next shuttle (putting me in jeopardy of missing my flight) I had them call a taxi, and they made no offer to pay it. Only upon the Taxi's arrival, I insisted they reimburse me, the morning clerk didn't want to, but finally relented. The room was clean enough, except for a dangerously buckled wood veneer floor in the bathroom (note to hotel owners-wood floors in bathroom-bad idea) Then it had a short shower curtain that allowed water to pour on the floor when you showered. I didn't see a TV control, so used a gaming control to change channels, which didn't let me control sound. The game control had a coiled wire which when I trid to pull it to reach me in bed knocked the cable out and the TV off the stand. Be warned- this is not an airport or traveler friendly hotel.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 10 of 32Are the walls melting?!?!
Only 2 things wrong with this hotel: 1) There was condensation pouring down the walls and dripping onto the headboard and light fixtures. Also, it gave the room a mildew smell; mixed with the bleach sent it was kind of hard to sleep with all those smells. 2) We requested a taxi to the airport and the receptionist insisted on us taking the shuttle, which would have arrived at the airport 20 minutes before our flight. After explaining to her why we needed a taxi instead, she proceeded to call a taxi company that was across town, we arrived just short of check-in time, and our friend actually missed her flight. Word of advice to customer service employees: The customer is always right!

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 12 of 32Undependable airport transportation
Although the hotel employees themselves were kind, the transportation to and from the airport was horrible, if at all, and we were given a smoking room even though we asked at purchase and at check-in for a non-smoking room. The van drove by us at the airport for over an hour before we finally took a cab and demanded reimbursement at the hotel. In addition, this "airport" hotel is nowhere near the airport, making the drive over 20 minutes.

The hotel had a strong musty smell. The first room we had the TV didn't work. The first room they moved us to we could not get into because the door lock didn't work. The next room did work. It did have the musty smell. I wouldn't stay in this hotel a second night.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 15 of 32La Quinta North Miami
Some rooms have a mildew odor - I was shown 3 other rooms besides my original one to have a clean fresh odor. It took 2 hours to get a shuttle from the airport. I finally took a cab which La Quinta North told me to do after numerous phone calls to them - they told me they would pay and they did. Finally I'm ready to go to sleep and the dead bolt was broken. Too late to make another change I was too tired and exhausted by then. I have to admit they did the best possible to make things right for me.
