Trip Type: Business Review 1 of 22good area, outdated/dirty hotel
I like the area of this hotel in regards to some shopping and dining, but the hotel is not at all 4 star. It's dirty, outdated, and hosts a "club" scene nightly. We were not impressed.

Trip Type: Romance Review 2 of 22Needs improvement.
Wasn't at all what we expected. The hotel was older and more rundown for a four star hotel.

Trip Type: Family Review 3 of 22Great location; friendly staff; too much noise til 3am
While the hotel is not a luxury one, it is clean and everything works well. Air conditioning would weaken every few hours leading to some "warmer" spells. The worst was the noise from the neighboring night clubs which went on until 3am. I would not return.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 4 of 22Nice Room but Noisy Atmosphere
Our room was attractive and well-appointed. Our stay would have been great if the nighttime noise level had been acceptable. We were there on Friday and Saturday evenings. The noise of enthusiastic twenty-somethings going to and from the rooftop lounge was noticeable until about 2 AM. The sound from the hallway and the elevator passed easily through our room's door and was really distracting. The pool/lounge on the top floor is open to the general public except for a few hours in the morning when it's reserved for hotel guests. It's not a quiet spot for a cocktail and an evening swim. A four start rating seems rather generous given that unavoidable distraction.

Trip Type: Family Review 5 of 22Very Noisy Hotel
There is small Bar in the Hotel Lobby. Every night, lots of people having dancing and drinking. Also on the top floor, there is another open bar. Every night there is party for young people. In the night whole hotel look like for party and very noisy. I don't think those people are hotel guests, but from the town. Don't expect any quiet vacation over there.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 6 of 22"a little more please
The hotel itself was nice as was the staff, but the beds were very hard, my water was shut off for 4 hours, and the carpet was wet in front of the bathroom.

Trip Type: Romance Review 7 of 22Okay hotel
This hotel was okay. The staff was friendly. We stayed for 4 nights. The room felt stuffy, bad air quality.. The carpet was filthy. we parked our car downstairs and was charged $32.50/day for a SUV plus tax. We were charged for local calls. I wished we were notified of the costs beforehand. The bar, Cabarette was not too impressive, neither was Lutetia. The pool and terrace restaurant were closed. I would rate this hotel a 3, not 4. I probably won't stay here again.

Trip Type: Romance Review 8 of 22Hotel was decent for price
I booked this hotel for 4 nights. I read reviews and chose it based on recommendations. The hotel was not as nice, the air quality was dirty... The staff was very nice. Parking was expensive, we drove a truck and parking was $32 + tax. They charged for local calls, too. I wished they had been more upfront about it. I would rate this hotel as 3 stars, instead of 4.

Trip Type: Romance Review 10 of 22We Loved It!
My fiance and I went to Montreal for a weekend getaway. We didn't want the trip to cost us too much so we chose this hotel. Well, as it turns out, even if we had wanted to spend more money, we wouldn't have gone any where else. Hotel de la Montagne exceeded our expectations from chocolates and bottled water at night to the fresh fruit in the lobby. The staff is also very friendly and the restaurants connected to the hotel are a lot of fun and delicious. We will definitely return to this hotel!

Trip Type: With Friends Review 11 of 22Non-smoking room is not guaranteed!!!
Although the hotel is in a great location, it appears that the decor has not changed since the 1970-80's. The worst part is that although we were supposed to receive a non-smoking room, we were told that this is not guaranteed. Therefore, we were stuck with a smoking room-which smelled horribly!! Customer service was not helpful at all as "manager was not available until the next morning."

Trip Type: Business Review 13 of 22Cabaret Surprise
I walked into a Cabaret nightmare in the lobby! I was looking for a peaceful, luxurious place to stay on a business trip, and this definitely isn't the place. On the upside, the location is centrally located to the downtown shopping district, and only a short ride from the train station and airport.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 14 of 22Not for college students, Misleading about services
The hotel was very misleading about certain things; particularly their pool & breakfast. We contacted the hotel via phone and they told us "yes, we have a pool" but didn't tell us it was closed for the season. We also asked them if we got a complimentary breakfast, and they told us "yes", but that was untrue. Reserving the hotel through hotels.com, not via phone, meant they wanted to charge you $11 for breakfast a dish. Would not recommend this hotel for college-aged kids, they are appreciative of your patronage, and are misleading about their services.

Trip Type: Romance Review 15 of 22Almost Worth it...
I have to say this hotel was a very nice one. The only thing I was a little dissappointed about was the fact that nothing was really included with my room cost. I paid what I feel is a lot of money for my room and my stay did not come with a breakfast AND we had to pay for parking in their garage. Maybe I need to get out more, but I just would have thought that one or both of those would have been included in the price. Other than that, great hotel, great staff.
