Poor Operations

I recently stayed at this hotel only to discover that they don't have high sped internet access. I spoke to several employees of which no ont could give me an explaination as to why there is no service. I am only left to speculate that the hotel no longer provides or has access to internet. In addition, the location of this hotel is so far out that even my high speed wireless card could not get adequate reception.

Needs a new staff and updated rooms

My expectations were higher based on the star rating. However, I was disappointed with the staff, cleanliness and comfort of the room. Upon checking in the staff at the front desk appeared unconcerned that there was a guest trying to check in as they continued with their loud conversation. When there was a lull, my husband said "Excuse me" and was told we would be helped in a minute. We then waited an additional 5 minutes for them to complete this conversation and assign us a room. Upon entering the room the first thing we noticed was the return air vent that was hanging sideways on the wall missing half the screws that hold it on. The room was hot and had a smokey odor although we requested NON smoking. We kept resetting the thermostat to cool the room off but it took till the middle of the night before it was comfortable enough to sleep. There were very few cable stations available, no premium channels.

Hotel needs improvement, but then NOT In Tunica to gamble

Rooms need a facelift. Nothing horrible, just getting a bit shabby. Bed and linens were great, though. Carpet and furniture very used. Bathroom clean, but wallpaper dated and getting worn. Typical casino lodging. Didn't go to gamble, so can't comment on casino. Had dinner at the upscale restaurant and was extremely pleased. Breakfast buffet in morning typical casino type - acceptable but not outstanding. Drinks at show very disappointing. I'm not the typical Casino guest, so probably not the typical guest for this hotel.

"Nothing like Vegas"

The hotel was clean but only hotel that had a room for the holiday. Probably would not go back again however the casino was large and much nicer than those nearby.

"Roaches"

Roaches in the room both nights. Air conditioner unit did not operate properly. Maintenance was called, but did not fix problem. When complaint was made to management, reply was, since we paid for room in advance no refund was available.

Not what it used to be

I had stayed at this hotel before and it was excellent at the time in 2005. This time the staff was not not as helpful. My room door was open upon arrival and there was a tray of leftover half eaten Breakfast food by my door. I checked in at 7pm call the front desk to get removed and went to the casino. It was still there when I came back up at 8:30.

Poor Service

The service you get at this casino is very poor. If you play table games you will get a server, if you play slots probably NOT. Many people around me were also complaining about the service. The bartenders were extremley rude!! The room was clean and the valet workers were great but I would not stay there again because thr servers/ baartenders were horrible.

Decent Room for the Money

I got a great deal and when you're going to this hotel, you're basically just looking for a bed in between gambling sessions. That said, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Past that, the hotel exists only to service the casino, so expect no amenities like a spa or other services. There is decently priced room service and a small pool, but basically, it's a decent place to sleep when you aren't hitting the jackpot.

Cancellation policy

Watch out for the cancellation policy! You are caught in the middle when hotels.com states that it is Sam's towns policy and Sam's town states it is hotels.com policy.

Great Room For the Money

This was our first time in Sams Town Tunica and we really liked the room. The hotel staff was very pleasant and our room was clean and comfortable. The downsides to Sams Town Tunica: we had no wifi, casino staff was horrible, we were treated better at other casinos than at our own. Try it if you wish, you may have a different experience.
