Trip Type: Business Review 1 of 48Never again
Have stayed in less expensive hotels that were alot better. Nothing what I expected, a lot less in fact. The topper was the only place to park was valet, very expensive. My car went in clean and the next morning when we left it was very dirty.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 2 of 48Very torn about this place...pretty buy ICKY
Ill make this quick...checked in and was told we were getting an "upgrade" to the marina view with a full blacony. I thought great! Got into the building and it was okay...until we got in the elevator which needed a cleaning. Got into our room...and it looked very nice. Great view, and comfy bed. Looked around and noticed stains on the ceiling...and a leak in the bathroom. The bathroom door was broken, and I was going to call and ask for a new room but decided to stay because we checked in late and had a 8am flight. SO...we opened a drawer to see if there was a phone book an dfound a candy wrapper, a "pediegg" with dry skin all over it, a pony tail holder, and a condom wrapper. Jumped into the shower to find a ring of dirt in the tub and EVERY TOWEL WAS DIRTY! I called down and they said new towle swere on the way...but never came. This hotel was super cheap for the area and in a great location. I am assuming the room would have been nice and no complaints if it werent for the dirt. Moral of the story was i SHOULD have complained and asked for a new room...but listened to my husband and stayed. Would I try this hotel again...nope. Left such a bad taste in my mouth.

Trip Type: Family Review 3 of 48Bahia Mar
Carpet in room had spots. The bathroom pocket door was broken. Stayed for 7 days and we would have had to change rooms to a downgrade if we wanted it fixed so we delt with it for a week. Parking was expensive. Had to pay for wireless. Their computers were broken or very slow. Asked for pool towels a couple times and we never received them. Not horrible if you get it for a good price. Good location. Nice view.

Trip Type: Romance Review 4 of 48Not what it used to be...
I've stayed at the Bahia Mar several times throughout the years and enjoyed it, but it had been awhile and this time it just was not the same. With the lower prices comes a decrease in customer service and a decrease in the overall hotel condition and appearance. The pool used to be the biggest feature - now there is VERY LITTLE service there and many of the chairs were broken. NO ONE comes around to ask if you need anything or to even check on the pool area or to clean-up, it was chaotic and in disarray during our stay. Towels were hard to come by and when they did have them them were not dry. We booked a Marina view and were given instead what they called an 'upgrade' to the main building, which was a view of the side of the building and two full beds (I was staying with my husband), so we waited 3 hours and were finally moved to the marina building (what we had originally booked!), with a balcony, which was better. The best feature of the hotel is the on-site food store and the proximity to the beach. If you can afford the Westin Beach Resort and you like it quieter, better service and less clutter, than stay at the Westin down the street - it's MUCH better!

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 5 of 48Parking
On top of the high rate, they charge good amount per night for parking as well as for internet. Considering all these things its not that great of a hotel. You might few better one down the same road

It is an "OK" hotel. The rooms and facilities were adequate. The general appearance of the property seemed a little tired.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 7 of 48Hidden Fees
Beware of hidden fees for hotel. If you are driving a car there is a daily fee for parking. It is not cheap either. The hotel also charges per day for internet use. Which again I add is not cheap. This hotel does not have WIFI (can't remember the last time I stayed in a hotel that didn't). As I travel internationally, this hotel wasn't what I thought it would be.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 8 of 48It was ok except for...
The service personnel were very nice and attentive, but it could not have been from the training from the management on staff. My family and I ordered food from the poolside bar and my order came with a cockroach mixed in. I kept it very low key and the service person was very apologetic, but the manager did not say a word or even look at me. I believe he was a bit grumpy about having to come up to the area to deal with a customer. The next morning we had a hammer drill being used outside our room at around 9 am working on the A/C unit brackets. When we asked the desk what was happening the manager, once again avoided all contact with the guest. The room was good for the money, the service personnel were very nice and the location to everything was great, but the lack of customer focus by the management team was very disappointing. even more so than having a cockroach in my nachos.

Trip Type: Family Review 9 of 48The hotel that went on vacation
Overall I was disappointed with me stay there. What I did like: 1) Free computers in the lobby (incl ability to print boarding passes) 2) closeness to beach and water taxi 3) Tower room had a frig 4) Housekeeping did a good job What I didn't like during my stay: 1) The pool was ICE COLD. Since the beach was closed do to heavy winds we ended up spending more time by the pool. No one stayed in the pool for more than a few mins because it was so cold. The website advertised a heated pool so this was extremely frustrating. Other nearby pools from nearby hotels were still heated. This was extremely disappointing since this is how we planned to spend the vast majority of our trip 2) When I complained to the front desk about the temp of the pool (and why it wasn't heated) they were rude and said I was the only person all day who complained about this and since it is the end of March they often turn off the heat. It didn't seem to matter to them that other local hotels were heating their swimming pools. 3) The snack shop was closed for renovations, Breezes (mid level restaurant) was also closed during this week. The only place to eat for breakfast was their breakfast buffet which was very expensive for an unimpressive looking spread. 4) The Concierge was on vacation and the cable was down for 4 hours (10 AM - 2 PM) during our stay. Not a huge deal but just added to the "nothing surprises me about how bad the service is in this hotel". Looking back I should have realized the price was too good to be true and stayed elsewhere.

Trip Type: Business Review 10 of 48I purchased a Hotel and got a very old motel
Rust in the tub. Smell in the hall. Elevator not working. Parking $18.00 to $25.00 a day. Bate and switch on the $50.00 credit. You have to use it on stuff to get it. Windows don't open for fresh air. The place is old, old, old.

Trip Type: Family Review 11 of 48Would not recommend it
The front-desk staff is not friendly. The check-in process took hours, and they didn't care that I traveled with a small child. There was only 1 working elevator for the first 3 days of our stay. We had to use the stairs, and the stairs were dirty with a smell of urine in one of the spots. The only good thing about the hotel was it's location.

Trip Type: Family Review 13 of 48Good location, Old rooms
The hotel is right next to the marina and in a great area for walking around. At check-in the staff was not very welcoming, and didn't go over any details of the hotel or my room (like info re: parking, breakfast, etc). The room I had was on the 1st floor of an adjacent building. The room was in need of renovating. The carpet and curtains were very worn with small tears. The bathtub had small rust and mildew stains. The beds and linen were in good condition and very comfortable.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 15 of 48Average Room hotel needs to remodel
I book many rooms through the internet each month. I read the reviews here and they made this property sound amazing. I think maybe people were more impressed it is across the street from Fort Lauderdale Beach on A1A. I booked the standard room, so maybe the upgraded rooms are better. In the daytime you can see the white hotel looks dingy driving up, but it is FL which white hotels might get weathered easily. Lobby nice. Check in smooth and friendly staff. The walkway leading from hotel hallway to beach(to cross busy street) or to pool and 2nd floor rooftop pool real nice. The hotel room hallway in the building I was in the carpet was really worn and old. My room the toilet was hard to flush and bathroom did not look like a resort, more like an 2 star motel. Tv in room was old. The bedding was the only resort look in the room. The room is basic and overpriced. You have to pay for self park or valet if you have a vehicle. Overall, I know the price I spent regardless of springbreak season was overpriced. Overall hotel seems safe and is across the street from beach. Nothing amazing for those that travel a lot unless they book maybe an upgraded room
