Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 1 of 196Rent a condo for a hotel price
Aloha Surf Builder rooms are apparently small condos that can be rented through Waikiki Sands for a low hotel rate. The rooms are way better than average for a budget hotel and even have LCD tvs and microwaves in a small kitchenette. I am impressed with both these rooms and the standard room across the street in the main Sands hotel.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 2 of 196Great Hotel 5 blocks from Beach
Charge of $15 per day for parking was unexpected but I found out common on the island

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 4 of 196Loved the location and price
We totally enjoyed the stay. Friendly and helpful staff. We were able to leave our luggage with the staff after we checked out because we didn't leave for the airport for 4 more hours. The location was easy walking distance to the beach and everything else we needed. The bar was cool with nice patrons. Would recommend and would stay there again. Thanks!

Trip Type: Family Review 5 of 196Great Customer Service & Nice Room
The staff at Waikiki Sand Villa Hotel could not have been better. They really exceeded my expectations. They were professional, friendly, and very accommodating. The room we received was nicely furnished, clean, and well maintained. The mountain view was exactly as promised. Overall, the experience was terrific. I will stay here again in the near future.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 6 of 196Great room for the money
Basically its a decent location but you get what you pay for.. no room service. the gym is not much of a gym at all.. there was no soap and barely any shampoo left in the dispenser in the shower..the free breakfast in the morning was barely a breakfast at all.. not the normal contintental breakfasts you see at the typical hotel. I also didnt care for the fact that you get charged 15 dollars additional each day for parking your car too.. but overall if you can put all that aside its a great place for the money

We enjoyed everything about the hotel and the Sand Grill. The food was excellent and very reasonable. If we ever return to Oahu we will stay again.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 9 of 196great hotel at a great price
This hotel is adorable and the best part about it is that it is very close to everything and the beach is a very short walk away. The restaurant at the hotel is fun to go down to and is delicious! It has the most reasonable prices on the island! The rooms are a little outdated but they are bright and seem to be clean. There is a nice business center that has free computer access and wireless is free in the lobby and at the pool. I stayed her about 20nights and for the most part the staff was accomodating, however, a few front desk clerks were not so accomodating and I was a little taken a back by that because of how many times I frequent the hotel. Repeat customers are not given any sort of "typical" repeat customer perks, ie free late check out (20minutes late), room upgrade, early check in (1hour). etc. The room is a great value and it is located where I like to be, so overlooked its shortcomings.

Trip Type: Romance Review 11 of 196Just a few blocks from Kuhio Beach, Honolulu..
I was quite pleased with our visit to Waikiki Sand Villa Hotel. We were able to walk to the beach (about a 7 min. walk) and close to amenities. The room and overall hotel appearance was clean and well maintained. Room view of partial Diamond Head & Ala Wai Canal. There was a light continental breakfast that was adequate to get the day started. Pool was very nice; not like a most of the small hotel pools. Staff was very friendly and accomodating. Highly recommend this hotel.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 13 of 196Better than expected.
We stayed here two nights before heading to the Big Island. We were just looking for a basic hotel, as we don't usually spend much time in the room. While The Waikiki Sand Villa is not fancy, it more than met our expectations. The rooms were clean, had free wifi (though not very fast), and had a lanai. We never waited for an elevator. We didn't use the pool, but it looked nice. They had free continental breakfast.(basically toast, coffee and juice). Perry's Smorgie Buffet is right up the street if your looking for a cheap breakfast. Parking is $15 a day for unlimited valet, but that's pretty normal in Waikiki. It's about a 15 minute walk to the beach. Lots of shopping and restaurants near by. All in all, very good for one of the lowest priced hotels in Waikiki.
