Nasty

This hotel was way over priced! When we arrived at 930 Saturday night to vheck in there was a note on the door saying we need to call a # to check in. After 5 attempts someone answered and we were told to wait she was checking in someone somewhere else...after waiting for an additional 25 minutes in the parking lot she arrived. when we got into our rooms all i could say was NASTY... had to find her before she left again for clean bed linnen and towels washclothes...she did have the bath items but no bed linnen. we were then told she could go to another hotel to get some by now after 11 we were just exhausted from driving for 7 hours so she took us into an unused room allowed us to check the linnen and strip those beds to take into our suite (if you could call it that just one extra bed in the room) finally ended up sleeping sitting in a chair since we didn't have any Lysol to spray the place down. on top of all this 3 very drunk men two rooms down decided to sing to us as they sat outside their room door until 1:00 in the morning... killed a bug in the bathtub...and the tv didnt work...went to sleep at 0300 was out of there by 0700...the word resort really shouldn't be used or suite for the room we were in.

Disappoinment

We did not even stay at this hotel it was so bad. I paid extra for the oceanfront room and we were told to look out our back door which was another parking lot but if you looked off to the east you could see the ocean. The rooms were old, dirty and smelled. This was a learning experience for all of us.

O.K. for the Price

It was a O.K. Hotel but they make you pay for everything, There was no Ice and Local calls and 1-800 calls were .99 cents. The Pool deck wasnt that nice and the Pool water was freezing. We checked out on our last day and went down the road and found a Nicer place with Cont breakfast and a heated pool.

If you are under the age of 60, this is NOT the hotel for you

We booked this hotel for a short spring break vacation of 1 night with 3 people (under 21). Most hotels around the area had a minimum age of 25 or 21 to check in, so on the description of Sunny Shores Resort when it mentioned check in minimum age 18, it was a relief. However, when we got to the hotel, the staff was anything but relieving or welcoming. The staff immediately judged us for being young and on spring break, assuming we were crazy spring break party co-eds before we even checked in. As we began the check in process, an older woman (very snippily) asked us who was under 21 in the group, and we all told her we were. So she let us know that it was a $100 security deposit per person under 21 for the stay. We are college students, we don't have $100 just sitting in our bank accounts. This $100 was not advertised on the hotels.com site advertising this hotel and I would never have booked the hotel, had I known this in advanced. So, as we handed over our debit cards, overdrafting and planning to call parents to switch money into our accounts, the staff gave us a lecture on how they know what spring breakers do and that if there is but one noise complaint from one of their "senior regulars", those troublesome guests will be thrown out, no money refunded. While I don't disagree with this procedure, the way it was presented to us, talking down to us like we are scum alcoholic party kids, it was rude, condescending and totally inappropriate as far as customer service goes. We were given the keys by the staff woman and told we were upgraded to ocean front with a stern warning "Be nice, I'm serious, Be nice." Excuse me? I didn't realize I had a mother for a hotel employee. After this little incident, we decided that this treatment was not worth our time and we didn't feel like being taken advantage of, because the way things were going and how we were being treated, I knew they'd find something wrong with the room at checkout, any reason to keep our $300, a huge amoun

Not satisfied

Recently we visited Daytona Beach while trying check in at this hotel I was told I had to pay $3.20 a day to park at the hotel. After getting checked in we were giving our key to the room. Upon entering the room the curtains were falling off of the hooks and the windows were so dirty I could hardly see out of them. The refridge contained take out food from the guest before us. I complained to the front desk and they advised there were no more room . Complaining and wanting to speak to the manager the front desk clerk said he was gone but they were up-grading me to their suite. Entering that suite a belt was laying in the corner of the floor. A bag of something hanging in the closet to supposely keep the mold down. We had to clean the toliet before you could use it. While complaing and wanting my money back there was a sign about how all of there rooms were clean.

Watch out for extra fees

I am extremely dissatisfied with this hotel. I have stayed here for many years and this experience was the worst that I have ever seen. I did not receive towels and washcloths half of the time even after complaining and then to top it off upon check out I was charged a 3.00 per day parking fee to park in a lot of the hotel that I paid for. I am outraged by this and feel as if it is price gouging. The management of the hotel just snickered and said that is our policy and it is posted. I have yet to see the posting, but did notice that the whole wall was covered with advertisements for everything from time-shares to casino trips. I will never stay at this place again, ever. Go charge someone else to park because I intend to take this to the attorney general of Florida for pride gouging.

Ok for the money. Needs improvement.

The problem I had with this hotel was I had two rooms next to me, one on each side with young kids in them. Partying all night in front of my room in my chairs that sat outside my room. I finally at 2 am open my door and asked them to quiet down so I could get to sleep. They kept on and on. I tried calling the front desk and no one would answer. That was one miserable night. Will not stay there any more.
