Trip Type: Romance Review 1 of 69Sheraton San Diego: not worth the view
I had to pay for parking every day which is insulting. the tiny motel down the street didn't require this. no complimentary breakfast, cheaper hotels provide this but the pricey sheraton can't? some partiers in the next room kept me up so this place has very thin walls room service was seriously overpriced I'd be much happier and save alot of money next time by staying at a cheapy motel, of course we had a great view but thats about it

Our pillows smelled bad, almost like feces. We called twice for housekeeping to bring different pillows but they never showed. My wife told me to just put the pillows on the floor and we slept the night without pillows.

Trip Type: Business Review 3 of 69Nickel and Dime
This hotel nickel and dime you for everything. Parking fees - $22 per night - should be free for guests. Internet is not free unlike all other hotels, TV channel selection is less than basic cable, no refrigerators in the room, and no coffee in the lobby.

Trip Type: Family Review 4 of 69Don't Be Fooled!
When we pulled up to the gorgeous, grand lobby of the Sheraton Marine Tower, a crisply uniformed door man greeted us and promptly informed me that we were booked for the Sheraton Bay Tower, but not to worry, because the Bay Tower "has larger rooms and a better view." When we got to the Bay Tower, a third of a mile away, a less crisply uniformed valet told us, "the rooms are 30% larger, it's quieter and the veiw is better." I was apprehensive, because the lobby was obviously not as nice. What a rip off! The rooms are larger and the view is great, but the hotel is ancient, the decor is crappy, the only free wireless is in the lobby, which accounted for the huge crowd of briefcase people in the lobby. I ended up paying $12 for the pleasure of having in room internet access. I had booked the spa package, but the front desk knew nothing about it, and the spa knew nothing about it. After 5 phone calls and 2 visits to the front desk, they finally figured it out. By then, I said, "forget it", because the spa was a third of a mile away in the Marina Tower! Also a third of a mile away in the Marina Tower was the Starbucks, and the supposedly wonderful restaurants. The next morning, at breakfast in the lounge, we were directed to a stainless steel counter on which to check the boxes on the menu order cards. We were not allowed to sit down until we completed our order cards and handed them to the waiter, who entered it into the computer and then, finally, showed us to our table. Not sure why the silly forms can't be filled out while sitting at the table. It was just all very strange. If you book the Sheraton San Diego, make sure you are in the Marina Tower!! Do not let them trick you into going to the Bay Tower, it's not a nice hotel!

Trip Type: Romance Review 5 of 69If you can get it cheap, it's worth it
We arrived and were allowed to check in early, which was nice. We were put in the Bay Tower, which is a little ways from everything but still okay. The problem is that they do not offer consierge service in the Bay Tower. Also, we were put in a handicapped room, which would have been fine if we had been expecting it. Everything was so low to the ground that it almost made it uncomfortable for us. You have to pay for parking every day...and it is pricier than at other hotels in the area. Friendly staff, but over priced for the conditions and services provided.

Trip Type: Family Review 6 of 69Watch for hidden charges!
We stayed for 3 nights to take advantage of the discounted rate. However, this rate does not include an outrageous per day parking fee, if you self park! Who knows what Valet was. If you don't stay in the hotel, you can validate your parking ticket for 1/2 off, but not if you are a guest. Also, this is the first hotel I've stayed in that does not offer free Wi-Fi in the room. You had to pay for every 24 hours, or you can go down to the lobby for free. Very inconvenient and not at all what I would expect from a 4 star hotel. The overall service and friendliness of the staff was great. But I will not stay here again.

Trip Type: Family Review 8 of 69bad...hated it
Sorry for the quick review, but I just wrote a very lengthy review and it was lost. I hated thi hotel. be careful of the hidden charges, parking is very expensive and its for a dirt lot. dont open the minibar, they charge you everytime the door opens ontop of a cleaning charge, even if its not used.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 9 of 69Not what we expected
The room was smaller than we thought. As far as getting around it was not as convenient as we would have liked. Although this hotel boasts 3 pools 1 was closed for maintenance and the other pool is at the Bay Tower hotel not in walking distance.

Trip Type: Romance Review 10 of 69Did NOT get what we paid for!
We paid MONTHS in advance for KING bed, called in am for late arrival and got 2 Queens - for a honeymoon trip, no less. Food expensive, public areas loud, elevators broken (had to use service elevator) - you get the picture.... PLUS $22/day to park. Outrageous!

Trip Type: Family Review 11 of 69Parking a rip off
This hotel is not close to anything you can walk to. you have to pay 22 bucks a day to park at the hotel, and then you have to drive everywhere and pay parking again.

Trip Type: Family Review 12 of 69Not up to par
This hotel was far below what we expected from a Sheraton property. The rooms were dated in their decor and the hotel had an overall feeling of needing a major updating. The worst thing about the hotel was the odor, especially in the areas around the ballrooms. There was a musty smell in the rooms but the smell from ballroom areas was absolutely overpowering. These areas, through which you often had to walkk to get to the adjoining property, had a terrible chemical cleaner smell that was nauseating. While the price we got through Hotels.com was definely "a good deal", in retrospect we should have paid a little more to stay in a nicer hotel.

Trip Type: Family Review 13 of 69Not up to par for a sharaton resort hotel
We have stayed at many hotels and for what we paid this hotel needs serious help. It is very secluded you need a car. Only one restaurant in the hotel for families it was a sports bar with no kids menu. My poor kids ate McDonalds every night, 4 miles from the hotel. The rooms, need major improvement. It was old and musty, everyone's allergies started up again, never enough towels and the rooms were very small. No refrigerator only a mini bar for money. The hotel is very picturesque, pretty up front and in the lobby and by the pool, but we will not stay there again and the parking, which we new this was $22 per day- ouch, like I said you need a car to get around.

Only things that hurts this place is Guest Services. I asked for more towels to be brought up to my room and they never made it. I had to go get them myslef. Called 3 times and no one ever showed up. Other that that room was great!

Trip Type: Business Review 15 of 69ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
I'm a frequent busines traveller and a Sheraton Platinum member, this is one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed at. First...they put me in the wrong room. Second...I had internet issues and was transferred to a helpdesk in Poland where the english wasn't fluent and it was then suggested that someone from a local "geek squad-like" place come to the hotel to fix a lousy IP connection in their port. Third....no one cleaned my room. Fourth...no one took the tray from room service that sat outside my room from 3 PM to 5 AM the next day. It's disgusting and galling. If I didn't block through this site, I'd have demanded a refund.
