Great Location. Hotel was dark and very hot. I could not see in the hallways they were so dark. The elevators were very small, dark, and hot. Not satisfied at all.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 2 of 48Not worth the price
Unless you are staying in one of their exclusive suites the hotel is not worth the price. I had one of their deluxe suites, the room is small and very basic. The toilet was stopped up upon my arrival. It was promptly repair, but in less than 12 hours later it was stopped up once again. This is strictly a hotel were you go to be seen.

Trip Type: Romance Review 3 of 48Very Small Pool
The pool area is very small and the picture of the pool on the website is very conceiving. Also you are not allowed to wear shorts, T-Shirts, or flip flops to the Oasis which is out at the pool area at night time. I found this to be a very disappointment considering that I paid so much for the room and was asked to leave the pool area after a certain time because shorts were not allowed and considering the hot humid weather I found that it was not appropriate to dress up to sit out side by the pool at night when it is hot and very humid. I had nice shorts on and a nice polo shirt but was still asked to leave. Other than that the hotel was nice but was not what i expected from the pictures I saw on the website. I would not stay there again although I made the best of it and enjoyed my stay in Dallas. I also had to go to a friends apartment the next day during the day to even get to swim because the pool area was so crowded that you could not even sit any wear or get into the pool because of all the people just standing in the pool drinking. There was actually no where to enjoy the pool at all. When I checked into my room it was very hot inside and I had to wait about 45 minutes before they got the A/C fixed and considering I drove 5 hours in the heat I expected our room to be nice and cool and it was not and they had to have a maintenance guy come and fix it.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 4 of 48Very Small Pool and Picture is concieving
Hotel was very nice. Although after driving 5 hours in the heat we checked into our room only to find out the A.C. was not working and they had to send up a maintenance man to fix it. They finally got it fixed after about an hour. The hotel was very nice but very pricey. They charge for everything there on top of the high price you pay for your room. The pool area is very small and not very big at all. The picture of the pool is conceiving and makes it look bigger than what it really is. Also on Friday night we were told you could not wear shorts down to the Oasis or flip flops or hats but only to find out that you had to dress up and with the hot humid weather that was very dissapointing to us b/c we did not want to wear Jeans in almost 100 degree weather and then to find out later that night there were people down there wearing shorts and T shirts that were not even staying there at the hotel. But when we tried to go in to the Oasis pool area the would not let us in because we had shorts on and of course the would not explain why the others got to go in but we could not and at that we were paying customers staying there in the hotel were as the others were not. On Saturday we got up to go out to the pool, only to find that there was no room at all for us to even enjoy the pool at all. So we had to go some where else to even relax by a pool and enjoy being in the sun around some cool water. I would not recomment this hotel to anyone unless you are just looking for a nice hotel room and not wanting to enjoy the extras of what the hotel has to offer.

Trip Type: Romance Review 5 of 48Uncomfortable Night stay
The night my wife and I stayed, our room had no AC, which made for a very uncomfortable night stay. The bed was uncomfortable too, Pillows were either too soft or rock hard nothing inbetween. The room also smelt a little musty or stale maybe because there was no air circulation. I complained about our night stay and that the AC was not working to the front desk person who just said they were sorry and informed me it was the entire 2nd floor that had the AC issue and I was not the first to complain. We ate at the Dragonfly restuarant which was good, but slighly overpriced. This was a special night for my wife and I, but sadly we were disappointed and will not return again. We live in Dallas so we have so many other 4 star hotel choices.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 6 of 48Tiny Pool area
Not only was the pool area tiny, but they were shooting some gay reality tv show, so we were unable to enjoy the pool at all.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 7 of 48Good hotel but can't bring your own beer or liquor to your room
The hotel was very nice, but the fact that you can't bring your own drinks that you purchased and brought with you to the hotel is stupid. I paid to much money for this room in order for someone to tell me I can't bring any beer, wine, or liquor to my room that I pre-purchased. Since this hotel already charges alot why do they feel a need to stick it to you again on buying from their bar becuase it isn't the fact they don't want drinks in the room becuase of concerns you might destroy the room. If that were the case they shouldn't have a bar you can buy from in your room that yet again would cost extra. I was very disapointed and this was a very big deal to not only me but several folks that were coming to stay as well that found out about this "hotel rule". I know for a fact it isn't a TABC rule. Very disapointing and just becuase of that I would not recommend this hotel and that is a shame!

Trip Type: Business Review 8 of 48ZaZa
Big name....little value. The carpets on the third floor hallway where my room was located smelled musty and dank. The hotel wireless intercom was dreadfully slow. The bar scene is very lively and the rooms are good sized and well-appointed. I have stayed in much nicer for less.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 9 of 48Good, bad and ugly!
This hotel was beautiful, immediately upon entering the smell of clean florals was intoxicating! The service was fantastic. The room was pretty, but not as swanky or well decorated as the hotel advertises. Dragonfly was amazing and after a sumptuous dinner, fabulous wine and great service, it was all fabulously romantic! A member of the staff even gave us recommendations on the local night life. This is the end of my glowing review however. When we went to go to bed we found that the bed and pillows were amazingly uncomfortable, with no ergonomic pillows available we had less than a great night of restful sleep. My husband and I had plans to have a relaxing day and sleep in a bit, since we were only staying one night we did not put the "do not disturb" sign on the door thinking that house keeping wouldn't bother, since we were checking out that day. That was a big mistake, they walked into the room three times between 8-9 A.M. before we put the DND sign on the door. This sign happened to fall off when we ordered room service and house keeping walked into our room for a fourth time. I understand these ladies are trying to do their job; but management needs to organize the staff and operations. When I complained upon check-out the staff was kind enough to refund the valet parking fee; but if they wanted to keep me as a customer it would have taken a bit more. I would return for cocktails and diner, regardless!

Trip Type: With Friends Review 10 of 48Rude Staff
There were four of us staying in a premium balcony suite at hotel zaza. The staff treated us like dirt. VERY predujdice! I was shocked..and I don't understand how in this era people can get away with that. Especially at such an acclaimed hotel.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 11 of 48Noisy
Unfortunately where we were located was above the parking area and pool and the bar stays open until 1:30 so we had to listen to loud music and drunks until 2 am each night we stayed. We went for a nice weekend and to see the King Tut exhibit and were not prepared to be awake for no choice of our own. When I called to the front desk they would not change our rooms and quite rudely told me that the sound would end by 1:30 am. I expressed our desire to be in a quieter location and she said it will be quiet...after 1:30 or shortly after. I loved the look of the hotel and the location for the art district. However I will not return to the hotel.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 12 of 48Staff needs to learn manners
I got my friend a room here for his birthday thinking it would be the ideal experience I could give him. Granted, the hotel itself is very stylish and beautifully detailed. However the staff was extremely rude to us. There were a handful of valets who were friendly and accomidating. The front desk however treated us like scum off the street when we walked thru the doors. I just didn't understand how, if we were paying the same money as everyone else, why we were being treated so badly. The same tips were expected of us..but we just weren't recieving the same service. Maybe it was because we all look young, but the hotel has a club down stairs, what kind of audience were they expecting. By the way, we were all between the ages of 22-24. So it's not like a bunch of teenagers with their parent's credit cards expecting to have a kegger and a balcony party. I was just overall shocked at the service attached to this charming (looking) place.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 13 of 48Service was HORRID
My room was not reserved correctly, which they said could not be verified because I made my reservation online. A $200 bottle of champagne was delivered as a gift to be waiting in my room upon chekc-in which not only did staff not tell me ever arriving, but they left it in a hot office all day long as it spoiled. With no apology. It sure is a pretty hotel though.

Trip Type: Romance Review 14 of 48Billing Problems
I was charged $52.00 for toiletry items ("Billy Jealosy" shaving cream and bodywash) that were on the counter in the bathroom. I specifically looked to see if there were any signs saying that these items were extra and not free..or should I say not included with the price that I paid for the room. I even looked on the mini bar price list and these items were not listed. Then after checking out I get a bill for $52.00 because I used these items. The receipt that was emailed to me calls the charges "Mini bar food" and then listed the shaving cream and bodywash...but like I said they weren't located at the mini bar and they were not on the price list at the mini bar. I have been trying for about a week now to get these charges removed but I am not having much luck so far. I would have give this hotel a great review except for this. I find this completely unacceptable and I will never stay at this hotel again and would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
