traveling as single woman was given key to room upon checkin that was occupied by a man! Wakeup call came 1 hour early because their system "didn't know about daylight savings"!

This was okay for the price and for a stopover but I wouldn't want to stay here for a longer period of time. Room was dark and dank. Okay for a quick overnight stay for the price but I wouldn't stay there for a longer period of time.

The rooms on the east side of the hotel smelled of mildew. It was advertised as having a fitness room and none existed. It is not in close proximity to the beach.

The room met our needs but was supposed to be a non-smoking room and it really smelled liked they tried to coverup someone smoking in the room. The motel was just old and you can tell. Otherwise, it was okay for the money and met our more pressing needs.

The office clerk was rude. The molding between the floor and wall was hanging off. The toilet lever was hanging off the toilet. I didn't even bother telling the front desk. If you wanted to use the microwave you needed to unplug the fridge or the tv. The first morning I woke up to the largest roach i have ever seen, two inchs long. And every morning there after was a small one in the bathroom. There were flys all over the breakfast room. On the bright side, the rest of the staff was very nice and beds were nice. location was ok and price was good. We stayed with about 6 other family's and all their rooms were fine. I guess we just got lucky. maybe its just room 105 that has all the problems? All in all for the price it was ok. The police made a few visits to the hotel next door.

We knew this hotel wasn't going to be a luxury hotel by the price, but there are some expectations on the cleanleness that you would have for even the cheapest hotel. First of all when we found the place, we got in our room and my husband went into the bathroom to find the toilet paper holder broken so that when you pulled on the toilet paper, it almost fell out of the wall. Next, I went to get in the shower, and there was a pubic hair stch on the side of the shower. As for the location, that was pretty good, it was just about half way between VA Beach and Norfolk, but next time we will definatly spend a bit more on the hotel and stay on the beach.

Wet bed linen front desk didn't have a key to get replacment linen. Power cord was ripped out of the wall. Location is good if you want to be in the center of Norfolk and VB and not get in the seasonal jam.

The Best Western in VA Beach, VA was a dump. The staff members were rude and unprofessional. The hotel did not have extra blankets, or a rollaway bed available. No elevator for the disabled. When I checked in the woman sent my mother (on a walker) and I the long way around the hotel to the room instead of saying -- the room was directly behind the office which was just a few steps away. Any thing you called the front desk for required at least two calls or come to the front desk, or look for a housekeeper to get towels. Trash was overflowing from the one trash can I seen. The room was not clean and needed repairs and a coat of paint. I would not recommend the location, nor will I ever stay there again.
