classic hotel stay

enjoyed it generally and great experience to be in new york at what is regarded as "the hotel".not sure i could afford to stay there for a week..... good space in room after their renovations but not one comfortable chair to relax to watch tv as the carved and gilded decoration gets you in the neck everytime you lean back. looks good but ain't comfy.

Great Hotel, awful smell on the outside

The new owners brought back the grand era of the Plaza with great taste and sense of style. Unfortunately unless you like the aroma of horse droppings outside the main entrance then you will enjoy all the amenities indoors. My suggestion is that they get some kind of aroma killing device to combat the stink. Otherwise the park across the street and all the great shops along fifth avenue and madison avenue will entertain your senses.

Outstanding Hotel!!

A great time at the Plaza! Got a Deluxe Rose Suite room through hotels.com for $250 less a night than through the hotel. Lots of space for the kids and the staff was exemplary. Room service was quick (but EXPENSIVE), but the the kids liked it. For ourselves, there are a lot of other options around for breakfast given its location. The location could not be beat and will try and stay there again soon!

Fantastic Hotel!!!!

The Plaza has surprised me. The hotel is really fantastic after renovation. The staff is great, very helpful and really kind. Melody from the concierge was great with me and my wife. She was very kind and competent accomodating all our needs. The room is big, beds are very comfortable and the bathroom is huge and very nice. Congratulations. I definettely will return to The Plaza in my next stay in New York.

Outstanding Hotel

I have stayed at the Fairmont in San Francisco and in New Orleans and this one was by far the nicest one of all. The location is incredible, right on Central Park and 5th avenue, walk to shopping, Times Square, Broadway etc. I highly recommend this hotel, will definitely be going back.
