Trip Type: Romance Review 1 of 48Economy hotel at non-economy Price
There was no valet and cause of my bad back my 100 pound girl had to take all the luggage up to our room. The room was very nice but there were no extra amenities and no frills, not even pen and pads. You get more frills at a Super 8. The location was great and that is the biggest plus. For 40 more, stay at Millenium where everything was perfect.

Trip Type: Romance Review 4 of 48If you are claustrophobic or If you are claustrophobic or handicapppped stay away !!!!!
Great location around the corner from Faneuil Square. If you need parking, don't be misled, it's 5 blocks away. I am handicapped and it proved to be very inconvenient. the lot had plenty of parking spaces, but the Valet workers used the handicapped spots for their good customers not handicapped people. I spent an hour trying to find a spot. No help from the garage. After Returning to the hotel I expressed my concern to the desk clerk and manager. Who seemed like high school or college kids that did not understand customer satisfaction or empathy for the handicapped. They very defensive as if they were responding to their parents instead of paying customers. I got the impression that their reply was, if you don't like it "to bad". I tried to explain this to the morning crew with the same reply. Never again, for me! I would spend the extra money elsewhere. Oh yes, the hotel is well hidden and looks like an entrance to a store front. Renovated but you will not see sun light as every window faces a brick wall. Like a prison. Do yourself a favor and make this your last choice!

Trip Type: Family Review 5 of 48Great location, varied amenities
The location of the Harborside Inn is excellent. Only about 4 blocks from Faneuil Hall and the Freedom Trail, and the Aquarium subway stop is directly out the front door. Note that the hotel has two kinds of rooms: 1) contemporary rooms that were completely redone recently, and 2) rooms that were partly redone, but kept the older bathrooms and some older furniture. Rooms facing the front of the hotel get noise from the street, and noise from bar-goers at night. Ice is in the basement. There are 8 floors of rooms, with an atrium all the way down to the first floor lobby. The "atrium" rooms have windows facing the atrium. The employees in our experience were hit or miss; either very competent and helpful, or seemingly brand new and unable to offer direct answers. The parking is in a pay garage about 2 blocks away, and to unload or load a vehicle requires finding a spot on the street out front, or parking with your flashers on in a parking courtyard half a block away. The hotel has luggage carts. There is a 24-hour convenience store in the same building as the hotel, as well as a few restaurants and bars. If you are looking for location near nightlife and the Freedom Trail, this hotel delivers, but with limited internal amenities.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 6 of 48Boutique hostel not hotel
The rooms facing the atrium are very dark you feel like your sleeping in a cave . The toliet in my unit backed up, towels were frayed and their were no wash clothes. Few ameneties ( no gym ,no movie selection). The entire building smelled either of a strong idustrial cleaner or insecticide. . This hotel is great if your expectations are more for a budget hotel or youth hostel and for a short stay. Depsite its limitations you can't beet the location and the staff are extremely helpful.

Trip Type: Romance Review 7 of 48First timers
For our anniversary, this was our first time staying overnight in Boston. We were expecting a little more from the hotel for what we paid in comparison to similarly priced hotels. There were not even coffee makers in the room, and we could not locate an ice machine even though we had a bucket. Basically, the only amenities offered were a bed and bathroom and television. If you're looking for a simple stay and will not spend much time other than sleep and shower in the room this is a good buy.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 9 of 48Unhelpful hotel staff, parking nightmare, very few amenities
This hotel staff was the most apathetic I have ever encountered. They were completely unhelpful. The parking garage is a few blocks away. There were no instructions on where to temporarily park to check into the hotel and no one from the hotel came out to help or provide information. No one offered to help with the luggage (or anything else). The room was clean but the bed was small and not very comfortable. There is one ice machine in the entire hotel, coffee only in the lobby (and milk is sometimes empty). The location is good, but by the time you factor in the parking cost, you would be much better off staying at the Marriot a short distance away. Definitely would not recommend this hotel to any one.

Trip Type: Family Review 10 of 48Nice hotel; problem location
The hotel is very nice but it is between two night clubs and boy are they loud at night. If you are below the 3rd floor watch out.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 11 of 48poor desk service
front desk girl was eager to say no on several of our request. The hotel took pride in offering nothing except the room. During our first night stay the desk girl gave a key to our room to another couple who entered our room while we were sleeping at around one am. It is a bit nerving to be sleeping and have someone open your door and walk into your room in the middle of the night. The couple was very apologetic but the hotel said nothing about it as if it was a common practice. Will not choose the hotel again.

Trip Type: Business Review 13 of 48Nice Hotel - Lacks business ready comforts.
The Good: Great Staff, clean rooms, great location! The Bad: Parking is 2 blocks away! No room service, no Valet parking (Event though they have a Valet sign). No coffee in the rooms. Would be great for leisure travelers who don't need amenities like room service. Many of their rooms have windows facing into the hotel...terrible for privacy and lacking in ambiance.
