Trip Type: Rest and Recreation Review 1 of 101Uncomfortable
I paid for the deluxe stateroom, and expected a king-sized bed, but got two, very small and uncomfortable twin beds. The staff was courteous, but informed that there were no rooms with king beds available. Everytime one of the neighbors shut their room door, it sounded like a gun shot going off. It was overpriced and uncomfortable. I will not recommend this to anyone else.

Trip Type: Romance Review 2 of 101Quaint but uncomfortable.
The rooms were small and very loud. The walls are so thin that it sounds like the neighbors are in the same room. Do not stay here if you're a light sleeper.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 3 of 101Nostalgic but needs improvement
Everyone should stay at the Queen Mary once in their lifetime. It's an extremely interesting place but the accomodations really aren't that nice. They've tried to keep the decor as original, but there are many features that look out of place because they're modern. In our particular room, the temperature was really warm and uncomfortable (no air conditioning controls in the rooms) and the shower was ice cold. The rooms are really not worth the high price you pay, but the ambiance is worth it, just once.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 4 of 101Needs a *Lot* of improvement!
Part of our deck had a *major* water leak in the middle of our first night, causing some flooding and multiple evacuations to other rooms! The halls stank to high heaven for a couple of days as the staff tried to dry them out. The next night, the emergency alarm system went off at 4 am. It turned out to be a false alarm, but the staff couldn't re-set it properly, and the system went off *two* more times before morning! Not what I'd call a restful stay. There are no microwaves, no free internet, no free parking ... The novelty of staying on the QM is certainly worth something (there's much to see that's interesting), but the quality of the rooms doesn't measure up to other similarly-priced, or even much cheaper, hotels.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 5 of 101Ugh!
The carpet was filled with big, ugly stains and both sinks were plugged. The toilet looked very dirty. I would have done better staying at a Motel Six. Really sad.

Was very exited to be staying at the famed Queen Mary Hotel, but was somewhat disapointed. Everything was clean, but overall very shabby and had not been upgraded in sometime. Poor water pressure and had to get on my knees due to the shower head being so low. Still using old fashioned heating/cooling system, teeny TV. No Internet included in room, and the 3rd party Ethernet offered at $9.99 a day was so slow we gave up on using it at all. Staff was helpful and nice, but I feel we had to call or visit the front desk too much during this visit to correct various issues. Also the Tibbies dinner show is a rip off. Don't fall for the brochure. The performers are your waiters and stage is merely a small parquet floor in the front of the eating area. They will automatically add gratutity to your bill and this is not advertised in brochure either. Overall skip it it is not worth it.

I appreciate the fact that the Queen Mary is a historical place, but I think in preserving that, they overlook a lot of things. We stayed in an interior room, that had no windows of course,it was cramped & the lighting was horrible. The bathroom was at least clean & it even looked like it was updated. I was there for a wedding so I saw other rooms that guests were staying in, and while they were bigger than mine, they definitely needed some updating. It's a pretty big ship & I imagine there are a lot of rooms, so why this place feels that they need to put guests in the small interior rooms, I have no idea. I definitely should have payed more attention to what I was getting when I made my reservation.

Trip Type: Business Review 12 of 101Awful Hotel - Unfriendly Staff
This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. We had to wait over 4 hours and 6 phone calls just to get an iron. We were given the wrong information several times about when the dining area would be closing. One night we were in the bar area and we called to order food. They told us that we had to go to the room to place our order. We went to our room and started calling the kitchen and no one would answer the phone!! The only thing mgmt offered was a free breakfast, but they said that they had to charge us for the drinks!! Give me a break!

The hotel looks very outdated. The remote on the TV didn't work and Customer Service said they would fix it but they never did. The walls are very thin becuase I could here everything the room next to us was saying! Wasn't worth the money paid!

Trip Type: Business Review 14 of 101run down, wallpaper peeling, burn marks on the carpet and mold in the bathroom
They have let the care and maintenance of the ship go downhill to the point where it is very run down. The ship has very poor "origional" ventilation, without room thermostats, and no AC. It smells bad in the rooms, kind of musty and moldy. The plumbing is obviously antiquated, and bright orange/red rusty water comes of the bathroom fawcet for about 3 minutes when you turn on the water. Then the water pressure is so poor that the shower hardly works. They also are not cleaning it well, and my room had worn down and cigarette burn-damaged carpet, with peeling wallpaper in the bathroom, and mold in the shower. I would never return nor recommend it to anyone. They also have poor security -- we were walking on the upper deck in the evening around 10 PM and ran across a man with a backpack who was wandering around. He was dressed in jeands and an old T shirt and in his twenties or thirties and about 6'tall. He came up to my son and myself in a menacing way and asked us for money -- he smelled of achohol and there was no security person or anyone at all on that level of the ship to keep an eye out for this sport of thing. I saw no security cameras, and no guards, etc. The area was not closed off but should have been since it was not at all secured. 2 people who looked like local vagrants were also sleeping on the sofa on the M level landing for a couple of hours the same evening. I was really shocked at the overall condition of the place and the lack of security.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 15 of 101The rude service
The Front Desk personnel were rude. On number attempts to contact the front desk because they did not place me in the room that I reserved, the front desk kept me on hold for more than 20min and then continue to hang up on me when I tried to call back.Even while Hotels.com was helping which were a lot more help than the hotel. Finally after dealing with the front desk for about two hrs, they finally switched my room.
