Trip Type: Romance Review 1 of 15Great location....old decor
This hotel, as most hotels do, lure you with their grandious lobby. The rooms were antinque"ish" at best and the smell was equally "non refreshing." The fact that you are right on the ocean is great and the view is outstanding. Do not plan on spending much time in your room. The televisions were tubes versus flat screens. If you brought along your ipod, as I did, hoping to drop it into a docking station and listen to some of your fav tunes......forget it! Needs more upgrades. Although we spent most of our time on the beach and around the pool...the interior was quite a disappointment for such a four star rated hotel.

Trip Type: Romance Review 2 of 15Not What It Used To Be
After paying $25 to park car we had to wait 3 hours for our room to be ready and recieved the noisiest room in front of elevator. We used the restrooms in the lobby that were of truck stop quality. We went to use heated pool that was cold and there weren't enough floats for the lazy river. We ordered a sandwich and fries that the waiter just dropped off and ran that wasn'r fresh. The breakfast buffet was under rated. Order hot tea and got cold water 2 times. For the price of this hotel it was very disappointing.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 3 of 15Beautiful hotel but everything very pricey
The hotel was beautiful, clean large rooms with not your typical hotel furniture. The breakfast buffet was awful. The omelet station is gone and you're left with stale and cold scrambled eggs and hard french toast. The price of drinks at the bar were outrageous! The price of daily valet parking has doubled since last year! This has always been our favorite hotel in Fort Lauderdale but will try someplace else next year.

Trip Type: Family Review 4 of 15hidden charges
Great hotel, however they failed to tell me about the costs of $24 per day for parking my car. David, the clerk at checkout didn't even try to be accommodating or offer a supervisor to come and talk with me. Won't be back. Too many other hotels that are up front with their charges.

Trip Type: Business Review 5 of 15wrecked my vehicle, refuse to pay
i was forced to use a valet service (they do not tell you there is a $25 valet charge when you book)and they did approx. $2500 in damage to my vehicle. i have called them several times and they do not call back including the general manager. no satisfaction after 37 days of trying.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 6 of 15Needs Improvement
Upon arriving at the hotel, the city of Fort Lauderdale had a municipal water problem, where we could not drink the water for 24 hours. The hotel only provided water upon request, otherwise, we had to buy it ourselves in the gift shop. The bathroom in the corner had hair and other gross junk. It appeared as if the bathroom had not been vacumed or mopped in several days. The hotel appeared old, as the rooms needed updating. It had a 1980's look. The four star rating is over done. I would give it a three star at best. T.F.

Trip Type: Family Review 9 of 15Nice, but...............
Hotel was nice and clean, but the overall is down for parking fees for quests $16/day plus tip. This on top of room rate! No mention of this until you read the sign outside by the Valet booth. Surprise! You owe. I'm not fond of surprises.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 10 of 15Poorly Mainntained and to Expensive
This hotel does not reinvest its profits from its high room rates back into the hotel. The hotel is old, but on the beach. They are banking on this advantage for their success. The public beach is only a few yards away. I suggest you stay someplace where the rooms are newer or newly remodled and walk to the beach. This hotel is a poor value, in my opinion.

Trip Type: Romance Review 11 of 15Not worth the money
This hotel was not worth the money. We couldn't get a decent cup of coffee in the hotel and the valet parking was terrible. My brand new convertible was left overnight with the top down after I left it with the top up, and one night they wanted to park it overnight in the lobby!! The valet staff were rude and the car had black marks on the upholstery.

Trip Type: Family Review 13 of 15Noise Level in the Morning
We had 2 king size beds and living room. The room was big and nicely decorated. We had a mini refrig and microwave but no plates, bowls and utensils. The pool area is small and hard to find seating around the pool. The beach is small due to hurricane damage. In the early morning around 7:30am you will hear the maids pushing there carts in the hallway. The maids talk above normal speaking levels to each other in the hallways early in the morning. I guess if you are a early riser you will not have a problem. The check-in was very slow and it felt like this was the first time they ever had a guest stay with them. I would not stay here again due to the noise level in the morning.
