Trip Type: Romance Review 1 of 54Smallest Suite ever
I booked a King size suite and although the bed was king size, the rest of the suite was very small and cramped. The hotel bar was closed for the season and the staff were less than helpful.

Trip Type: Romance Review 3 of 54Disappointed
We booked this hotel for the Ocean view balcony room with two beds. When we arrived we were told they had "Upgraded" us (only two of us) to a two bedroom villa. This turned out to be across the road from the hotel. This was not what we booked. On-duty manager would not listen nor help us to obtain the room we had booked, and would only offer two free breakfasts. The "villa" was dark and very dated. This was not 'the wake to the sound of the ocean' we had anticipated. It was the only reason we went there on our trip south. Never will we return to Myrtle Beach as a result of this treatment.

The newer tower in this hotel is very nice and we have stayed there many times, however, the older tower is getting quite run down, smells like stale smoke-even though it is supposed to be non smoking and does not live up to the standards of a higher end resort. We were also very dissapointed in the cleanliness of the pools on a few occasions. They seem to get very cloudy and dirty looking.

Trip Type: Family Review 7 of 54Horribel horrible and customer service even worse!!
I am writing in regards to our recent stay at the Caribbean Resort & Villas. We booked your hotel for a last minute stay for Father's Day. We checked in on Sat afternoon and that is where our problems began. We got there a little early so we tried to check in but was told we could only do our paper work and come back at 3 to get our room key. We did not realize that this was what everyone was told to do. We had to wait in line for 45 mins to get our room key. There was mass confusion. There was all different lines and no one knew where they were suppose to be. People were cutting and no one who worked there seemed to help the situation or care. Next was the room. We had a leak in the living room ceiling that was leaking yellow water. I called the front desk FIVE times before I got a response. I called 4 times with out any help. I was told maintenance was coming to look at it. We waited an hour for them to show up and there was still no one that came or called. We waited and waited and then I called and asked for the manager on duty. I called and asked for the manager 2 times before I finally got one on the phone. His name was Travis and he has NO customer service skills what so ever. I would have expected an apology or some kind of compassion that we have been waiting now almost 2 and half hrs before I got some sort of answer as to what was going on. I was treated so rudely by the staff as a hole. After all of they told me there was pretty much they could do. There was no other room they could move us too. They said we could be refunded if WE MOVED TO A DIFFERENT HOTEL! where were we going to find another hotel after 6 pm on a Sat night in Myrtle Beach the day before Father's Day? After all this happened, we went to take a shower to go out to dinner. When we went to get a towel, there was a paper ball substance that fell out of the towel. It was as it turned out to be, a tuna fish sandwich wrapped up in toilet paper. We were gonna call the front desk and tell them

Trip Type: Business Review 8 of 54acceptable
The room was acceptable but that is all. It was a standard room with two double beds. There was a musty smell. The bedspreads were old adn worn and not something you want to touch your skin. The elevator only worked part of the time. The hotel did not want to honor the hotels.com price but finally did after persistence.

Trip Type: Family Review 9 of 54Jamaican Room
The Jamaican Room was horrible. I would not stay there again or reccomend it to anyone. The only reason I stayed is that it was already paid for and had no choice. The room smelled terrible. The room was dirty and the bathroom was dirty as well. The property was old looking and had very little updates done to it. Half the time the elevator didn't work. The only plus is that it had a mini fridge and two sinks to get ready by. Also the Hotel tried to pre-charge me a $100.00 deposit for ammenities of damage to the room. There response was that hotels.com should have posted it on the web site that I would have to take it up with them. Eventually the manager took care of me and just took an imprint of the card and didn't charge me the fee. Anyway the room was way below standard. Would not recommend.

Trip Type: Business Review 11 of 54Bad
First I was not told I had to make a $100.00 deposit before checking in. We did not stay in the hotel we booked for we stayed at the Jamaica House down the street. No place to park the building looked trashy and very old not nice at all. Maybe a one star if that. Not a good experience. people were not friendly or helpful.

Trip Type: Rest and Recreation Review 12 of 54Helpful Staff
We were first booked in the Jamacian House. Upon arriving, we found that it did not have internet service or adequate kitchen. The staff was willing to work with us and for an addition modest amount we were given a room at the main hotel which met our needs and was a nicer place.

The only two problems I had with the hotel were that when we got there It took forever for the hot water to come on, and every morning they were doing construction that woke us up.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 14 of 54Needs Improvement
Stayed at Jamaican/Carribean Resorts, desk service wasn't good only one employee waiting on 8 guests. Hot water in room didn't last long, maid service on first day was terrible, didn't change lining, door to room was hard to open and close, no ice on first two floors. Hotel was in good location thou, maid service improved rest of stay, right on the beach. Still wouldn't recommend to friends.

The hotel was noisy. There were other guests being disruptive in the middle of the night (between 1AM and 2AM) for consecutive nights. Attempted to contact the front desk to resolve the issue and no one ever picked up.
