Trip Type: Business Review 1 of 13Nice but nothing special
The hotel staff was friendly. The hotel had a nice chic boutique feel but overall, nothing to write home about. Yes it was nice, yes it was clean, but it was missing the wow factor.

The hotel was nice, however, the location was not great. There is really nothing to do around and not too many food options.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 3 of 13I prefer intelligent hotels to green hotels.
The room was lacking a closet as well as a luggage rack which meant that our suitcase sat on the floor and our clothes were not hung up. (A waist-high rod with a curtain is not a closet.) Our bed was not a queen but a double which is odd for a newish hotel and the sink was so shallow and the faucet so low that it was impossible to really wash one's face. Of course there was no counterspace next to sink for toiletries which is de rigeur these days for some unknown reason. The pillows were small, square and foam which guaranteed two mornings of crooked necks. Our room looked out on a brick wall. The morning coffee consisted of coffee, paper cups, and tiny containers of half and half. Would it be that much trouble to put some cartons of milk on ice? The coffee was also so hot it burnt my tongue!

Trip Type: Special Event Review 4 of 13Needs Improvement
Room was VERY small and the $42.00/night valet parking fee was ridiculous.

Trip Type: Business Review 6 of 13Grossy Overpriced
The hotel was clean, but little and pricey for the amount of room and amenities it had. The parking was not convenient.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 7 of 13Location Great; Room not-so-great
Pros: can't beat the location. Short walk from virtually everything. Cons: Rooms are minuscule- about the same size as a cruise cabin (there's a reason they don't have any pics of the rooms online!). Hard to avoid bumping into wall getting in/out of bed. Bathroom is extremely snug as well. Room also lacks coffee maker.

Trip Type: Business Review 8 of 13Unexpected Bad Experience at Felix Hotel
I am in search for a modern business hotel in the Chicago area since I frequently travel to Chicago and wish to stay at one hotel that I am satisfied with and decided to give Hotel Felix a try. I was not satisfied for the following reasons: 1. I booked the room through hotels.com and was given room 313 in front of the floor elevators. You can hear a loud "ping" each and every time one of the three elevators stops on the 3rd floor. 2. I was extremely annoyed that on Monday morning around 6:15 AM I heard disruptive noises hitting against the room door. It appears the person who was cleaning/vacuuming was compelled to wake me up by constantly hitting the bottom of the door. It was disruptive and should not happen at such a hotel. 3. The bathroom amenities (shampoo, conditioner) are of cheap quality and really have no place at the Hotel Felix. Overall, I was not satisfied with my brief stay even though I paid a high rate.

Trip Type: Business Review 9 of 13Tiny Rooms
Decent hotel but the rooms are tiny. The bathroom is so small you can hardly lay out your toiletries. This hotel will do in a pinch but there are much better choices in downtown Chicago.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 10 of 13If you're a light sleeper, this is not the hotel for you
This hotel recently went through a $30 million renovation, but you'd never know it by staying there. The walls are paper thin and you can here everything--and I mean everything--that your adjacent neighbors do or that people in the hall say. Obviously, TPTB decided it was more important to have leather-covered ice buckets than any sort of soundproofing. Here's what else you won't find at the Hotel Felix: in-room coffeemakers, a closet, storage space for more than a couple of days' worth of clothing, newspapers at your door, room service, mini-bar/fridge--the list can go on and on. The staff is very helpful and the beds are comfy, but for there's no way I can recommend this hotel when there are so many others at the same price that will give you so much more for your money. What perplexes me is that other reviews here were quite positive, yet every other traveler we encountered at the Hotel Felix was full of complaints. Hmmmm. . .

Trip Type: Business Review 13 of 13Hotel Felix
This hotel is brand new - and smells like it! They weren't quite ready for guests and half of the amenities weren't even available. The biggest problem with this hotel is that the rooms look nice but are VERY SMALL, CRAMPED - no place to put things. It is a fancy wrapped package that comes up empty.
